C384 Strange Morning

Morning came quietly at the Wood residence. As usual, Tracy and Kelvin were among the first to wake up. The house was still peaceful when they came downstairs and settled into their usual morning routine. Ben followed shortly afterward. He walked into the dining room with a tired expression and took his usual seat. A few minutes later, footsteps could be heard coming from upstairs. Samantha was halfway down the staircase when she suddenly looked up. She froze. Sarah was walking downstairs, dressed formally for work. Behind her was Chris, carrying little Tristan carefully in his arms. Samantha stared at them for a moment. "Sis... when did he come?"

Sarah smiled. "Good morning, Sam." Chris followed her down the stairs. "Morning, Samantha." The two of them continued walking as if nothing unusual had happened. Samantha remained standing on the stairs for another second before following them. Everyone at the dining table looked up when they entered. Tracy immediately smiled when she saw Chris. "Chris, when did you come back?" Chris smiled. "Aunt Tracy, I came back yesterday. I wanted to spend the night with my son." Those words made Ben uncomfortable. He looked down. A son. That was something he had always wanted. But Samantha had given birth to Monica, and the subject still carried a quiet weight inside him.

Kelvin noticed Chris standing near the table. "Come, son. Sit down and have breakfast with us." Chris shook his head. "Uncle, I can't. I'm already running late. I have to go home first." Sarah immediately laughed. "Lies." Chris looked at her. "Please don't start." Sarah ignored him and looked toward her father. "Dad, I'll be going to the company for a few hours. I'll come back later." Kelvin froze. "What?." Sarah continued. "I never officially informed the company about my leave, so I need to go there and make sure everything is arranged properly." Tracy looked surprised. "You're going to work?" Sarah nodded. "Just for a few hours." "You don't have to worry I prepared everything for Tristan."

She had prepared everything Tristan would need. His clothes, bottles, diapers, blankets and everything else were ready. Tracy smiled. "At least you prepared everything." Sarah nodded. "I don't want anyone to struggle because of me." Ben, who had remained quiet until then, suddenly spoke. "Sis..." Sarah looked at him. "Yes?" "The invitation... is it still happening?" Before Sarah could answer, Chris suddenly looked at her. "Chipmunk, you invited us to his club?" Kelvin's eyebrows rose. "Who is Chipmunk?" Everyone looked at Chris. Chris froze. Sarah slowly closed her eyes. Samantha covered her mouth. Chris quickly smiled. "Aunt, Uncle, have a good day." He turned around and hurried toward the door.

Sarah and Samantha stood there, stunned. Tracy looked between them. "What just happened?" "And who is Chipmunk?" Sarah smiled awkwardly. She grabbed her things. "Dad, we won't be having breakfast. Have a good day." Samantha followed. "Have a good day, everyone." The two women quickly left. Outside, Chris was already walking toward his car. Sarah caught up with him. "Why did you run away?" Chris laughed. Sarah stared at him. "Why did you use my codename in front of my parents and then leave us to explain it?" Chris shrugged. "Mistake." Samantha laughed. "You're unbelievable." The three eventually separated and drove toward Wood IT company.

Across the city, the atmosphere at the Harris estate was far less peaceful. Brian had left early that morning. When he returned, he went straight to Willy's office. He knocked. "Come in." Brian entered and bowed. "Boss." Willy looked up. "Did you get it?" Brian nodded. "Yes, sir. I just retrieved Jack's body." Willy leaned back in his chair. "Good." His expression remained cold. Then he asked, "What about Neo and his team?" Brian's expression changed. "Still no news, sir." Willy's eyes narrowed. He remained silent for several seconds. "That means they failed." Brian nodded. "It appears so." Willy tapped his fingers against the desk. "Track them." Brian looked at him. "Sir?" "Find out where their vehicles are. I want to know exactly what happened to them." "Yes, Boss." Brian turned to leave. "Wait." Brian stopped.

Willy's expression became even more serious. "Our shipment arrives tonight." Brian nodded. "I'll make sure everything is ready." "This time," Willy said slowly, "I don't want any mistakes." "Yes, Boss." Brian left. Willy remained alone. He stared at the empty space in front of him. If Neo and his men had failed, then attacking the Mooney family would be more difficult than he had expected. He had originally wanted to take control of their businesses instead of destroying them. But things had changed. "Perhaps I underestimated them." Willy leaned back. "If they are becoming this difficult to attack, then destroying their company might be the only option." He clenched his jaw. "I need a better plan." His eyes hardened. "And this time, I won't make a mistake."

At the Gomez residence, Bright was preparing to leave when Laura suddenly called him. "Husband." Bright stopped and turned around. "Yes? What is it?" Laura walked toward him. "I have something to announce." The change in her tone immediately caught the attention of Prince and Godness, who were still enjoying breakfast. Prince put down his cup. "What is it, my child?" Laura took a slow breath. "There is an important meeting this evening that I have to attend with all of you." Bright frowned. "A meeting?" Laura nodded. "I can't share the specific details yet." Prince looked concerned. "Why not?" "You'll understand when we get there."

She paused. "It's at six o'clock this evening, so please make sure everyone is available." Godness nodded. "Of course. We'll be there." Prince asked, "Where?" Laura smiled. "I'll send you the location." Bright crossed his arms. "Is this one of those meetings involving your... dangerous friends?" Laura smiled faintly. "You'll know soon enough." She picked up her belongings. "We should leave now before we're late." The family exchanged glances before following her out. Breakfast at the Mooney residence was unusually crowded. The ten coaches were seated around the table with the Mooney family. Despite the pleasant food and familiar surroundings, there was an underlying tension in the room. Everyone knew something important was coming.

Alicia and I exchanged a glance. I finally broke the silence. "Today is going to be a very busy day." Mary looked at me. "What does that mean?" I smiled. "The Lions were too scared to tell their parents about our plans." Mary frowned. "The Lions?" I laughed. "That's what we've decided to call our group." Alicia nodded. "We've arranged a meeting for this evening." Mark looked confused. "A meeting?" "All the families will attend," I explained. "We'll tell them everything and explain why we're planning to disappear for three months." Peter looked at us carefully. "And you expect them to agree?" Alicia shrugged. "We'll have to convince them."

Hammer smiled. "Do you need us at the meeting?" Alicia immediately shook her head. "No." Hammer raised an eyebrow. "Why not?" "Look at how scary all of you are." Everyone laughed. "If their parents see ten heavily trained people sitting around the table, they'll immediately refuse." Hammer laughed quietly. Alicia continued. "Besides, the less they know about you, the better." I turned toward Mark. "Father, Tonight we may need your help convincing the Wood family, Chambers family, Gomez family and possibly the Capsey family." Peter's expression changed. "Capsey family?" Everyone became slightly quieter.

Peter continued. "That family has always kept to themselves. They don't involve themselves in public affairs. Even their old patriarch has practically disappeared. Nobody seems to know where he is anymore." Alicia smiled. "One of my employees comes from the Capsey family." "And she joined us willingly?" Peter leaned back. "I see." Hammer remained silent. He knew something about the Capsey patriarch. One of his informants had told him some time ago that the old man had been admitted to a private hospital. But Hammer decided not to mention it. There were already enough secrets in the room.

Quinton looked at the coaches. "And what happens if the families refuse to let you all disappear for three months?" Beast answered calmly. "Then we won't take their children." Everyone looked at him. "As long as Madam can train, that will be enough. That's what Boss ordered us to do." Georgia nodded. "Mary and I will find a way to convince them." Mary smiled. "Don't worry. We'll do our best." I smiled. "Thank you." I stood up. "I'm going to work." Alicia nodded. "I'll join you later." Peter looked at us. "Where exactly is this meeting happening?" Alicia immediately took out her phone. "Sarah sent me the location." She forwarded the message to everyone.

Mark looked at his phone. The moment he saw the location, he suddenly choked. He coughed several times. Alicia immediately looked at him. "Dad? What's wrong?" Mark waved his hand. "Nothing." He looked at the address again. "Do you know where this is?" Alicia nodded. "A club." Mark stared at her. "And?" Alicia looked confused. "And what?" Mark hesitated. "Do you know who owns it?" Alicia looked at me. I looked back at her. "No." She shrugged. "Does it matter?" Mark remained silent. He knew that address. Then finally he said "Yes it does."
