C386 Change Of Plans

Amanda stood silently in front of Sarah and Chris. For several seconds, she did not say anything. Her eyes moved between the two of them as if she were trying to understand exactly what she had just been asked to do. Join them. Fight alongside them. And possibly die with them. The last thought made her swallow hard. Sarah watched her carefully before speaking again. “Amanda, I need you to understand something. This isn't a normal job. You won't be sitting behind a desk anymore. You won't simply be following us around and helping with paperwork.”

Amanda nodded slowly. Sarah continued. “If you join us, you may have to fight. You may be injured. You may even die.” The word die hung heavily in the room. Amanda's expression changed. The seriousness of the situation seemed to settle completely on her shoulders. Chris leaned against the desk and watched her. “Well?” he asked. Amanda looked at him. “You really mean it?” Chris nodded. “Every word.” Amanda lowered her gaze. “What happens if I don't agree?” Sarah answered honestly. “Then you go back to your normal life. You continue working here, and when we leave, you stay behind.” Amanda looked at the two of them again. “And if I agree?”

Chris smiled. “Then you're one of us.” Amanda remained quiet. She thought about her family. She thought about her job. She thought about the ordinary life she had been living before this. And now the decision that stood directly in front of her. Finally, Amanda raised her head. “Is that why all three of you are leaving?” Sarah nodded. “Yes.” Amanda took a deep breath. “And if I leave, who will take care of my family?” Sarah looked at Chris before answering. “You should be asking yourself another question not that one.” Amanda frowned. “What question?” Sarah's expression became serious. “What happens to your family if you die?”

Amanda went silent. Chris watched her carefully. After a few seconds, Amanda smiled faintly. “If I die doing something I believe is right, then at least I won't die for nothing.” Chris immediately smiled. “Then you're part of us.” Amanda's eyes widened slightly. “Just like that?” Chris shrugged. “You made your decision.” He pointed toward the door. “Go submit your resignation to HR.” Amanda smiled and quickly turned around. “Thank you.” She hurried out of the office. The moment the door closed, Sarah slowly turned toward Chris. She stared at him. “Do you take everything as a joke?” Chris looked at her innocently. “What?” “You just recruited her into a dangerous operation.” Chris shrugged. “She agreed.”

Sarah shook her head. “You know that little girl probably doesn't even have the courage to kill someone.” Chris smiled. “Then she'll learn.” Sarah stared at him. “And what if she gets killed?” Chris laughed. “That's her problem.” Before Sarah could respond, Chris turned around and walked out. “Chris!” He ignored her. Sarah stood there for a moment, staring at the doorway. She sighed. “Big head.” Then she began packing her things. At Lucia Goods, the atmosphere was completely different. The company was busy, but beneath the normal working routine was a feeling of uncertainty. The news about the attack on the Mooney family had spread quickly.

Employees whispered among themselves whenever they thought nobody was listening. Some were worried about Alicia. Others were worried about me. And a few were simply afraid of what might happen next. Several times throughout the morning, someone knocked on my office door. “Director, are you okay?” “Is Director Alicia injured?” “Is everything under control?” Each time, I gave them the same answer. “You'll know everything once Alicia gets here.” Eventually, everyone returned to work. I sat behind my desk, reviewing documents and trying to focus on the company's affairs. There were contracts waiting for approval. Reports that needed to be reviewed. Financial documents that required my attention.

For a while, I managed to push everything else out of my mind. Then lunchtime arrived. I closed the final document and stood up. Just as I was preparing to leave, there was a knock on my door. I looked up. The door opened. Alicia walked inside. The moment I saw her, I immediately became worried. “Honey,” I asked, “you left Emmanuel alone?” She rolled her eyes. “When we disappear, who are you going to ask that?” I froze. She smiled. I couldn't even argue with her. “You have a point.” “I know.” We left the office together. As soon as we entered the main area, Alicia walked directly toward the HR desk. She picked up the microphone. “Good afternoon, everyone.”

Her voice echoed throughout the building. “I'm sorry to interrupt your lunch, but I need everyone to proceed to the boardroom. There is an emergency meeting.” The employees immediately began moving. The nervous atmosphere that had been building throughout the morning slowly eased. At least now they knew Alicia was alive and standing in front of them. Within minutes, everyone had gathered inside the boardroom. Alicia stood at the front. I remained beside her. She took the microphone again. “Hello, everyone.” The room became silent. “These past few days have been very difficult for me.” She paused. “I recently gave birth to a son.” A few employees smiled. Others clapped happily. Alicia smiled. For a moment, she looked like an ordinary mother proudly announcing the birth of her child.

Then her expression changed. “But unfortunately, there isn't enough time for me to enjoy maternity leave.” The room became silent again. “Our enemies have already attacked my family.” Everyone listened carefully. “We lost one of our security guards during the attack.” Several employees lowered their heads. Alicia continued. “Because of that, I need all of you to remain focused on your training.” She looked around the room. “The coaches will continue training everyone. However, I will not be here for the next few months.” A few people exchanged worried looks. Alicia continued. “My husband and I will be taking leave.” She paused before delivering the next announcement. “During that time, Leon and Adam will return as interim director and interim vice director.”

Leon immediately looked surprised. “Director, I don't understand.” Alicia smiled. “I know.” She reached into her pocket and pulled out Gold and Diamond. The room immediately became quiet. “Everyone knows that I have a task to complete.” She held the dagger up. “Now that I am no longer pregnant, I will begin my training again.” Alicia's voice became firmer. “To prevent our enemies from interfering with my training, I will not be here.” She looked directly at the employees. “However, this company remains your responsibility.” She lowered Gold and Diamond. “If danger comes, stay together. Protect each other. Protect this company.” Everyone nodded. “For emergencies, contact the coaches. My family is both the Gupta family and the Mooney family. They have the resources to help if you or your families are in danger.”

The employees remained silent. Alicia smiled faintly. “Just because I won't be physically present does not mean I won't know what happens here.” She looked around one final time. “I trust all of you.” Then she lowered the microphone. “The meeting is over. Please continue with your lunch.” Everyone began standing. But one person remained seated. Faith. She waited until most of the employees had left before approaching us. “Director.” Alicia looked at her. “What is it?” Faith hesitated. “You announced that you and your husband are taking leave. What about me?” Alicia smiled. “You won't be working here anymore.” Faith froze. “What?” “You already know that you're going with us.”

Alicia continued. “Write your resignation letter. Don't worry about your salary. You'll still be paid.” Faith slowly nodded. “Okay, Director.” She turned and left. I watched her disappear through the doorway. Alicia looked at me. “I think that's everyone.” I nodded. “Then let's go home.” At the same time, a small funeral was being held for Jac at Willy's Estate. Willy stood silently beside the grave. His face remained expressionless, but his eyes revealed his anger. Jack had been more than just another member of his organization. He had been his nephew. And now he was dead. After the funeral, Charlie Kinlore followed Willy back to his office. The moment they entered, Charlie closed the door. “Uncle.” Willy sat behind his desk. “What is it?”

Charlie lowered her head. “I need your help.” Willy sighed. “What is it now?” Charlie hesitated. “I'm not working anymore.” Willy raised an eyebrow. “Didn't you tell me you wanted to stay out of my business?” “I know.” “Then what's the problem?” Charlie looked down. “I changed my mind. Can you find me a job?” Willy stared at her for several seconds. Then he laughed. “What? The money I give you every month isn't enough?” Charlie quickly shook her head. “No. That's not what I mean.” She took a breath. “If I keep hiding and doing nothing, I feel useless. I don't want to sit around like a parcel waiting for someone to move me.” Willy's expression softened slightly. “You're married now. That's why I don't want you involved.”

Charlie looked at him. “But I already know about your business.” She stepped closer. “If I stay beside you, maybe I can help.” Willy thought about it. Finally, he nodded. “Fine.” Charlie's face brightened. “I'll ask Brian to find something for you.” She smiled. “Thank you, Uncle.” “But it won't be here.” Charlie froze. “Why?” “Because you're married. If you start working here, you'll eventually have to live around us. That could complicate things.” Charlie nodded slowly. “What if I join Starc's team?” Willy considered it. “That depends on your husband.” “He'll understand.” Willy nodded. “Then speak to him first. If he agrees, you can join Starc and his team.” Charlie smiled happily. “Thank you!” At that exact moment, Brian knocked and entered. “Boss.” Willy looked at him. “What did you find?”

Brian's expression was serious. “We found Neo and his team.” Willy's eyes narrowed. “And?” “They're all dead.” Willy leaned back. “Dead?” Brian nodded. “All of them.” Willy's expression darkened. “Do you think Alicia did it?” Brian shook his head. “No, sir.” "Why?” “They all had the same type of wound.” He paused. “One gunshot to the head.” Willy's eyes narrowed. “The same as Jack?” “Yes.” Brian continued. “That means whoever killed them was highly trained. I believe the Gupta family is still protecting the Mooney family from the shadows.” Willy remained silent. For several seconds, he stared at the desk. Then he slowly smiled. “Then we need to change our strategy.”

Brian waited. Willy finally looked up. “Attack Lucia Goods.” Brian froze. “Boss?” “I don't care if the company gets damaged.” Brian looked confused. “You don't want it anymore?” Willy's expression immediately became irritated. “Did I say that?” Brian lowered his head. “No, Boss.” Willy leaned forward. “I still want Lucia Goods.” He tapped his fingers against the desk. “Destroying part of the company simply means I'll have more work after I take control of it.” Brian listened carefully. “Don't forget that Lucia Goods has rights to deliver in South America.” His voice became colder. “If we control those rights, moving our shipments will become much easier.” He paused. “And Alvaro will get his shipment without complications.” Brian nodded. “I understand.” “Good.”

Willy waved his hand. “Go and start planning.” “Yes, Boss.” Brian turned and left. Charlie followed him out. Willy remained alone in his office. He slowly leaned back in his chair. His eyes became cold. “Alicia…” A faint smile appeared on his face. “You've forced me to change my plans.” He looked toward the window. “This time, I won't come after you directly.” His smile widened. “I'll take away everything around you first.”
