C390 Family Battles
Seeing the way Alicia was looking at me, I realised everyone was waiting for me to explain. I smiled and placed my glass down. "Well, I suppose I should explain." Everyone turned their attention toward me. "I can use my technical skills to track targets," I explained. "That's something I already started doing when we were tracking Charlie Knott. I think I can become useful when it comes to surveillance, communication, and locating people." Alicia nodded slowly. She already knew how useful my technical skills were. "But when it comes to actual combat training," I continued, "I think I'll focus mainly on boxing and shooting."
Chris immediately raised an eyebrow. "Why not guns?" I smiled. "I'll do sniper training as well. I'm not saying I won't." I looked toward Laura. "But Laura made a good point earlier. A sniper normally operates from a distance. You have time to observe your target, choose your position, and take your shot." I paused. "But not every encounter will happen that way." Everyone became quiet. "Some situations will happen unexpectedly. Someone could attack us from close range before we even realise what's happening. That's why I want to be comfortable fighting with my hands." Chris nodded. "That actually makes sense."
Samantha smiled. "We must have different skills." "Exactly," I replied. The conversation continued for several minutes. Eventually, everyone's attention turned toward Sarah. She swallowed and looked around the table. "I don't know." Chris laughed. "What do you mean you don't know?" Sarah shrugged. "I haven't really started training yet. I've been focused on the company, Tristan, and everything else that's happening." She looked at Chris. "What about you, Big Head?" Chris smiled. "Same as my brother." Everyone laughed. Sarah shook her head. "Of course." Chris leaned toward her. "What?" "Nothing." The laughter continued for a little while. For those few moments, it was easy to forget what was waiting for us.
But eventually, the conversation came to an end. One by one, we separated. None of us knew exactly what the next three months would bring. At the Gupta family residence, Hammer sat across from Victor in a private room. The door was closed. Nobody else was allowed inside. Hammer looked at Victor. "Boss, Madam just sent me a message." Victor looked up. "What did she say?" "They all agreed." Victor smiled. "Good." He leaned back in his chair. "So, what is your plan?" Hammer had clearly been thinking about it already. "I'll contact Wang." Victor raised an eyebrow. "The Korean forces?" Hammer nodded. "Yes." He stood up and pulled out his phone. "I believe they can help us make the disappearance convincing."
Victor watched him carefully. Hammer searched for Wang's number and pressed the call button. The phone rang several times. Eventually, someone answered. "Bro?" Hammer smiled. "Wang." "What happened?" "I need your help." Wang became more serious. "What kind of help?" Hammer glanced toward Victor before answering. "Do you have any of your people around Scotland?" There was a brief silence. Wang thought about it. "Yes. Chenfeng is there." Hammer nodded. "Good." Wang immediately asked, "Why?" Hammer explained everything. He told him about Alicia, the Harris family, the danger surrounding the group, and their plan to make them disappear. Then he explained what they needed. "I need to stage a killing."
Wang remained silent for a while before finally asking. "And what do you need from us?" "I need your people to play their part." Hammer's voice became more serious. "I want everyone to believe the incident happened here in Scotland. Once the scene is created, I'll handle the rest." Wang thought for several seconds. "And you are sure this will work?" Hammer smiled. "It has to." Wang finally sighed. "Alright. I'll tell Chenfeng to contact you." Hammer nodded. "Thanks, Wang." The call ended. Hammer lowered his phone. Victor smiled. "That's a clever idea." Hammer smiled back. "Boss, the entire group came up with it." Victor laughed. "Then make sure you execute it properly." Hammer nodded.
Victor's expression suddenly became serious. "And remember something." Hammer looked at him. "Train my granddaughter well." Hammer immediately nodded. "Of course, Boss." He turned around and left the room. Victor remained behind, staring at the closed door. The coming months would determine whether Alicia was truly capable of becoming the leader everyone believed she could become. In the First Family Villa Far, Hanna sat across from her father, Samson. Dinner had already been served. Neither of them seemed particularly interested in eating. The atmosphere between them was tense. Samson finally broke the silence. "Hanna." She looked up. "What?" "It's been several days since you came back." Hanna continued eating. Samson watched her. "But you haven't told me anything."
Hanna sighed. "You want me to talk about Gold and Diamond again?" Samson didn't hesitate. "Yes." Hanna stopped eating. Samson leaned forward. "Hanna, you are the rightful leader of this family." His voice was calm, but there was seriousness behind every word. "Right now, we have our family and Darry's family under our control. If you had obtained Gold and Diamond, the third family would have been yours by now." Hanna rolled her eyes. Samson continued. "Instead, you allowed that little girl to take them." Hanna smiled. "Allowed?" She laughed. "Dad, do you really think I'm that weak?" Samson shook his head. "That's not what I'm saying." "Then what are you saying?" "I'm saying you are underestimating her." Hanna's smile disappeared.
Samson continued. "That girl may be an outsider, but she is intelligent. She has already attracted people around her." He leaned forward. "If she manages to unite the third family, things will become much more complicated." Hanna remained silent. Samson continued. "Don't forget the two groups stationed at the border. If they decide to support her, her position will become even stronger." He paused. "And Hammer and his men have already chosen her side." Hanna slowly put down her fork. "I don't care." Samson stared at her. "What?" "I don't care about the third family." Her voice was calm. "And I don't care about all these politics you're constantly talking about."
Samson frowned. "The only thing that matters to me is Gold and Diamond." She leaned back in her chair. "If that girl wants to challenge me, let her." Samson shook his head. "Hanna..." But she continued. "If she challenges me, then she'll give me exactly what I need." She smiled coldly. "An opportunity to kill her." Samson stared at his daughter. Hanna's confidence was frightening. She wasn't speaking out of anger. She genuinely believed she could defeat Alicia. "Listen to me carefully," Samson said. "If she unites the third family, defeating her won't be as simple as you think." Hanna smiled. "Then I'll give her a chance." "A chance?" "Yes." She picked up her glass. "I'll give her a chance to bring Gold and Diamond to me willingly."
Samson's expression hardened. "And if she refuses?" Hanna's smile slowly disappeared. "Then we kill everyone standing in our way." Silence filled the room. Samson stared at his daughter. He realised something. She wasn't planning to negotiate. She was not interested in politics and family leadership. All she cared about was obtaining Gold and Diamond.
