C417 Confusion And Questions

Everyone froze. The question immediately changed the atmosphere in the room. Mark slowly shook his head. "I don't know." Quinton continued, "Think about it. Willy has been investigating us for a long time. If he somehow discovered that Alicia and Mike are not actually missing, then attacking you could be connected to that." Mark looked toward the floor. "If they did discover something, it must have happened recently. But how?" Georgia's expression became worried. "If they have found out about them, then we have to warn Alicia." Peter looked at Mark. "What if they were not attacking because they discovered anything? What if this was simply another attempt to weaken our family?" "Or to remind us that they have not forgotten about the death of Jack?" "Willy clearly left a message saying A son for a son what if he meant you and not Emmanuel?"

Mark shook his head. "I cannot ignore the possibility. Willy is not naive. The disappearance looked too perfect. No one questioned it, and the public accepted that Alicia and the others had been kidnapped." He paused. "If Willy has been watching closely, he may have noticed something that we missed." "And if it was that easy to eliminate me, he would have done that long time." Mary looked concerned. "How do we contact them?" Mark immediately reached for his phone. "We cannot contact them directly. But Victor knows where they are." He searched through his contacts and called Victor Gupta. The phone rang several times before Victor answered. "Mark?" "Mr Gupta," Mark said seriously. "I think the Harris family may be planning something. We believe they could have discovered information about Alicia." Victor immediately became silent. "What do you mean?"

Mark answered honestly. "I am not sure whether I am overthinking this, but Willy's men attacked me about an hour ago. Their intention was clearly to eliminate me." Victor's expression changed. "Are you injured?" "I was shot in the leg, but I am fine." Victor remained quiet. Mark continued, "What made me suspicious is the timing. Victor slowly sat down. "You think they have discovered where Alicia and the others are?" "I don't know," Mark admitted. "They could have discovered their location, or they could have analysed the kidnapping footage and realized the disappearance was staged." Victor's voice became more serious. "Do you believe Willy knows about the kidnapping?" Mark shook his head. "I cannot say for certain. But Willy is not stupid." He paused. "I think you should warn my daughter. I will also prepare on my side."

Victor nodded slowly. "I understand. We will not take any chances." The call ended. Mark lowered his phone and looked toward Peter. "I hope I am wrong." Peter looked at him. "But you believe you are not." Mark did not answer. Victor remained standing with the phone in his hand for several seconds after the call ended. The news disturbed him. Mark Mooney had survived an unexpected attack by Harris family soldiers. The attack itself was concerning, but the timing was even more suspicious. Hammer noticed the change in Victor's expression. "What happened?" Victor slowly turned toward him. "Alicia's father just survived an attack by the Harris family." Hammer froze. "What?" Viper, who had been standing nearby, immediately looked confused. "Why would they attack the police minister?" "They surely know that he is always surrounded by his team."

Victor placed his phone on the table. "That is exactly what confuses Mark. He believes they may have discovered something." Hammer's expression became serious. "What exactly does he suspect?" Victor looked toward the others. "For the past month, the Harris family has been quiet. No attacks, no major movements, nothing that suggested they were planning anything. Then suddenly, they attacked Mark." Viper frowned. "Could Willy have simply decided to retaliate against the Mooney family?" Victor shook his head. "Perhaps. But Mark believes the timing is too strange." Hammer crossed his arms. "Does he think they found out about Alicia's location?" "He is not certain," Victor replied. "He believes it could be one of two things. Either Willy has discovered where Alicia and the others are, or his men have analysed the disappearance footage and realized the kidnapping was staged."

The room became silent. Hammer looked toward the direction of the military base. "If Willy knows the truth, then the Lions are no longer hidden." Victor nodded. "That is my concern." Viper took a step closer. "But how could they have discovered anything? The disappearance was carefully planned. Even the police and the public believe the Lions were kidnapped." Victor remained thoughtful. "That is what we need to understand." For a moment, nobody spoke. Then Victor suddenly raised his head. "Or could it be Hanna?" Hammer immediately dismissed the idea. "It can't be." Victor looked at him. "Why not?" "Hanna is family," Hammer answered. "For now, she only sees Alicia as her target. She wants to challenge her and test whether Alicia deserves Gold and Diamond. She would not risk exposing the family secrets." Viper nodded slowly. "Besides, Hanna knows she can beat Alicia." Hammer's expression tightened. "Exactly. Hanna has no reason to involve the Harris family. She would want to defeat Alicia herself." "She has her own pride so letting outsiders do her job will make her look weak infront of her team."

Victor looked unconvinced. "But Hanna has always been unpredictable." Hammer shook his head. "Even if she is unpredictable, the Harris family is our enemy as well. She understands that." Victor turned away from the group and stared into the distance. He thought about Alicia. He thought about Gold and Diamond dagger. He thought about the Lions training at the military base, believing they still had time to prepare before returning to the outside world. If Willy had truly discovered the truth, then everything had changed. The Harris family would no longer be searching for a missing girl. They would be searching for Alicia Mooney. Victor slowly turned back toward Hammer and Viper. "Then what is it?" he asked. His voice was quiet, but the concern in his eyes was impossible to hide. "What can be the cause of this?"
