C439 Game Is Changing
At Willy's Estate, Charlie Kinlore rushed toward Willy Harris's estate. She had spent the entire morning trying to contact her uncle, but nobody had answered her calls. When the news finally reached her, she refused to believe it at first. Willy Harris was dead. Her uncle, the man who had controlled one of the most feared criminal empires in the country, had been killed. Charlie needed to see it for herself. The moment she arrived at the estate, she knew something terrible had happened. The large property was surrounded by police vehicles. Officers moved in and out of the mansion while investigators examined the grounds. Yellow police tape stretched across the entrance and around several sections of the property.
Charlie stopped at the gate. Her eyes immediately filled with tears. She looked around, hoping to find someone who could tell her that the news was wrong. But there was no one. The men who had once guarded the estate were dead. Their vehicles had been removed, and the familiar activities that had always surrounded Willy's home had disappeared. Everything was silent. Charlie slowly entered the property. The police had already removed the bodies, but signs of the violence remained everywhere. Broken furniture, overturned chairs, damaged walls, and bloodstains reminded her of what had happened. She covered her mouth as she walked through the mansion. “Uncle…” Her voice trembled. She had never imagined seeing his home like this. Willy had always seemed untouchable to her. No matter how many enemies he had, no matter how many threats came against him, he always found a way to survive. Until now.
Charlie wiped her tears. “Uncle, I will avenge you.” She looked around the empty hallway. “I will take over your business. I promise you, I will rebuild everything.” Her words sounded brave, but inside she was terrified. She had lost the only person she believed could protect her. Still, Charlie refused to leave without seeing his office. She walked through the damaged mansion until she reached the familiar door. Willy's office. Charlie slowly opened it. The room was in complete disarray. Papers were scattered across the floor. Files had been thrown from the shelves, drawers were open, and several documents had been torn apart during the police search. She stepped inside carefully. Her eyes immediately went to Willy's chair. For a long moment, she simply stared at it. She remembered how he used to sit there, making decisions that affected hundreds of people. Men feared him, businesses depended on him, and enemies spent years trying to bring him down. Now the chair was empty.
Charlie approached it slowly and placed her hand on the backrest. “Uncle…” She swallowed hard. “I don't know how to do this without you.” There was no answer. Only silence. After a few minutes, Charlie turned away from the chair and left the office. As she walked back toward her car, her mind was already racing. She had made a promise to rebuild Willy's empire, but she had no idea where to begin. She stopped beside her vehicle and shook her head. “Uncle, I don't know any of the business.” She wiped her face. “I don't even know your contacts. I don't know who worked for you or who will remain loyal to me.” She opened the car door but did not get inside. Then suddenly, she froze. A memory returned to her. The men Willy had welcomed the previous day. South American men. Charlie slowly raised her head. “Wait.” She remembered seeing her uncle meet them. “They were important to him.” Her expression changed. “This means he had contacts in South America.” She quickly wiped away the remaining tears. “Well, then I will start there.” Charlie got into her car and drove away from the estate. Behind her, the police tape remained stretched across the mansion. Willy Harris's empire had fallen.
At the Border, News of Willy Harris's death reached the border much faster than anyone expected. The information spread through the military channels and criminal intelligence networks almost immediately. Destroyer rushed toward Hanna's tent. “Boss! Boss, big news!” Hanna looked up from the documents on her table. “What happened?” Destroyer entered and caught his breath. “One of our enemies was killed this morning.” Hanna raised an eyebrow. “Who?” Destroyer looked at her. “Willy Harris.” For a moment, Hanna said nothing. Then she slowly shook her head. “He was never going to win against us anyway. We already killed many of his men.” Destroyer nodded. “Yes, Boss.” Hanna leaned back in her chair, thinking. Willy Harris had been a dangerous criminal, but his organization had been weakening for some time. Still, something about his death bothered her. “Wait…” Destroyer turned toward her. Hanna looked directly at him. “Wasn't Willy Harris Alicia Mooney's enemy?” Destroyer hesitated. “Yes, Boss. I believe so.” “Did Alicia kill him?”
Destroyer swallowed. “I don't know.” “The police confirmed that they did not shoot him. It was an unknown sniper.” Hanna's expression slowly changed. “Then it has to be Alicia.” Destroyer remained silent. Hanna continued. “Who else would have a reason to kill Willy Harris and the ability to get close enough to do it?” She stood up and walked around the tent. “Alicia is becoming a threat.” Destroyer watched her carefully. Hanna stopped beside the table. “How far are you with the plan to kidnap her child?” Destroyer hesitated before answering. “We have laid out a plan, Boss, but it will not be easy while we are stationed here at the border.” Hanna looked toward him. “Why not?” “We have limited resources here, and the people we are after are far away. We don't know their plans. If we are going to carry out the operation properly, we need to watch their movements closely.”
Hanna remained silent for a few seconds. Then she made her decision. “Fine. Let's go back.” Destroyer straightened. “Boss?” “Prepare your team.” “Yes, Boss.” Hanna walked toward the entrance of the tent. “But we are not going back to the family.” Destroyer nodded. “Understood.” “We will go directly to the city.” Destroyer bowed his head. “Yes, Boss.” He immediately left to begin preparing the team. Hanna remained alone inside the tent. She slowly sat down and stared at the documents in front of her. “Willy Harris is dead?” She repeated the words quietly. For years, her people had been unable to locate him. Willy had hidden himself carefully, using different locations and layers of protection. Yet Alicia had somehow found him. Hanna frowned. “What technical expert did Alicia find?” She had already learned that Alicia's group was more capable than ordinary criminals. But Hanna wanted to know exactly how they had located Willy. She raised her voice. “Stacy!”
A few moments later, Stacy entered the tent. “Boss.” Hanna looked at her. “Do you know anything about the Harris family?” Stacy hesitated. “You also think Alicia killed Willy, don't you?” Hanna nodded. “I think it is possible.” Hanna gave a small grin. “Then answer my question.” Stacy straightened. “Yes, Boss.” Hanna asked. “Willy spent years hiding from us. But what about his family? His relatives? People connected to him?” Stacy shook her head. “I don't know much about them.” Hanna's expression hardened. “Then go find out.” “Yes, Boss.” Stacy quickly left the tent. Hanna remained seated, waiting. She knew information was power. Several minutes later, Stacy returned carrying a folder. “Boss.” Hanna looked up. “What did you find?” Stacy opened the folder. “The only public information we could confirm about Willy Harris's family is that he had a niece and a nephew.”
Hanna listened carefully. “His niece is Charlie Kinlore.” Hanna's eyes narrowed slightly. “Charlie Kinlore?” “Yes, Boss. She was previously an employee at Lucia Goods, the company owned by Alicia Mooney's family.” Hanna leaned back. “And the nephew?” “Jack Harris.” Stacy paused. “He was killed a few months ago at a warehouse.” Hanna slowly smiled. “So Charlie is still alive?” “Yes, Boss.” “Where can I find her?” Stacy hesitated. “Boss, the Harris family is still our enemies, even though Willy is dead.” Hanna turned toward her. Then she smiled. “An enemy of my enemy is a friend.” Stacy froze. Hanna continued. “Don't you know that saying?” Stacy remained silent. Hanna stood up. “Find me her address.” Stacy looked uncertain. “What do you want to do?” Hanna's smile disappeared. “I want to pay her a visit.” Stacy nodded slowly. “Yes, Boss.” She turned and left the tent. Hanna watched the entrance for several seconds after Stacy disappeared. The game was changing. This time, Hanna was not planning to attack Alicia directly. She was planning to find someone who might already have a reason to do it for her.
