C451 Bring Him To the Study
When Hammer and his team returned to the Mooney residence, everyone immediately looked toward them. But Emmanuel was not with them. Instead, they carried someone inside in a large sack. Alicia's heart sank. She quickly stepped forward. “Did you find my son?” Hammer shook his head. “No, Madam. Her husband said she left early this morning. He doesn't know where she went.” Alicia wiped the tears from her face. Her expression slowly changed from desperation to anger. “Let me interrogate him myself.” Hammer immediately shook his head. “Bad idea, Madam. We already interrogate him? He is telling the truth.” Alicia looked directly at him. “Then I want him to tell that truth to me.” Her voice was calm, but there was something frightening behind it. “I want my son back.” She pointed toward Mark's study. “Bring him to the study.”
Beast and Ghost immediately carried John toward the study. The moment they entered, Alicia followed them inside and locked the door behind her. Everyone outside exchanged worried looks. Nobody knew what Alicia was going to do. Inside the study, Alicia turned toward John. She had one thing on her mind. Emmanuel. Using Gold and Diamond, she began interrogating him. John tried to explain that he had already told Hammer everything he knew, but Alicia wasn't interested in hearing that. She wanted answers from him herself. Outside the study, the atmosphere became increasingly tense. Then they heard a scream. Everyone froze. Another scream followed. Mary immediately looked toward the study. “What will Alicia do to him?” Georgia looked equally frightened. “She won't kill him, right?” Nobody answered. Inside the study, John started telling Alicia everything he knew. His story was the same one he had given Hammer and the others. He had no idea where Charlie had gone.
Alicia stared at him for several seconds. “So you didn't notice anything strange about your wife?” John hesitated. Then something suddenly came back to him. “Wait.” Alicia leaned closer. “What?” “I remember. I remember something.” “What?” John swallowed. “Two days ago, a strange couple visited us.” Alicia's eyes narrowed. “A strange couple?” “Yes. They said they wanted to help Charlie.” “Help her with what?” “They spoke about the death of her uncle. That's all I heard. After that, they spoke privately.” Alicia stared at him. “Do you know who they were?” John shook his head. “No. It was my first time seeing them.” “What else?” John thought carefully. “Yesterday, I woke up and found that Charlie had already left the house.” “Where did she go?” “I don't know. When she came back, she said she had been meeting a friend.” Alicia's expression hardened. “Visited a friend?” “Yes.” “Continue.” John nodded. “And today she was behaving strangely. It was as if she was planning something big.” Alicia said nothing. John continued. “She even took out her passport.” Alicia suddenly froze. “Passport?”
John nodded. “Yes.” “Why?” “I don't know. We usually keep our passports together. But when I woke up, I found mine lying in the living room.” He took a breath. “Hers was gone.” Alicia stared at him. For the first time, something in John's story had given her a direction. Charlie had taken her passport. She was planning to leave the country. Alicia pointed at John. “If you are lying to me, I will come back.” John immediately shook his head. “I'm not lying. That's everything I know.” Alicia turned toward the door. She unlocked it and walked out. Everyone standing outside immediately looked at her. Her clothes were stained with blood. She didn't seem to notice. Her eyes were focused only on one person. Me. “Mike.” I stepped forward. “Yeah?” “Go and find out where Charlie booked her plane ticket. I want to know where she went.” I nodded. “I'll find out.” I immediately headed upstairs toward my computer. Alicia followed me. Behind us, Hammer stood completely frozen. He looked at the other coaches. “Madam actually managed to make him talk?”
Viper and Sniper exchanged confused looks. Neither of them seemed to know what to say. Then Hammer turned toward the study. “Let's see.” All the coaches rushed toward the room. When they entered, they stopped. John was in a disturbing condition. His left toe had been cut, and his right thumb was injured. Blood covered parts of the floor and continued to drip from his wounds. He was still screaming in pain. The sight shocked everyone. Mary and Georgia had followed the coaches into the room, along with the Lions. They all froze. Georgia stared at John in disbelief. Then she looked toward the doorway where Alicia had disappeared. “My granddaughter did this?” Her voice trembled. “How could she do this to a living person?” She turned away. “I don't even want to look at this poor man.” Hammer remained calm. “Madam did what she had to do to make him talk.” Mary frowned at him. “You're talking as if she did something good.” Hammer looked at her. “She needed information about Emmanuel.” “But look at him!” Mary pointed toward John. “How can you say that so casually?”
Hammer sighed. “She got the information.” He then looked at Victor and Peter. “Leave this to us. We'll take him to the hospital.” Peter nodded. But Georgia suddenly stopped them. “Wait.” Everyone looked at her. “What if he tells the police what happened?” Hammer smiled slightly. “Then Madam will deal with him again." Georgia stared at him. Hammer continued. “And besides, there is no evidence connecting her to what happened here.” Mary shook her head. She clearly wasn't comfortable with what she had witnessed. Hammer and the coaches carefully took John away. The room slowly became quiet again. But one thing was clear to everyone. Alicia was no longer thinking about anything except finding her son. Upstairs in our room, I immediately sat down in front of my computer and started tracking Charlie Kinlore.
I searched through the available Glasgow Airport registration records, checking every flight she could have taken that morning. I knew she had her passport, and now I knew she was trying to leave the country. It didn't take long. I finally found her. I stared at the screen for a few seconds, making sure I had the right information. Then I looked toward the bathroom. A few minutes later, Alicia came out of the shower, drying her hair with a towel. I turned toward her. “Wife.” She looked at me. “What did you find?”
