C459 Is Everyone Okay

John, who had been sitting in the living room watching television, immediately turned toward us. His face changed the moment he saw us. Before any of us could say a word, he quickly raised his hands. “She came back and left. I don't know where she is.” Cipher smiled. “Where is my child?” John froze. “Child?” Alicia stepped closer. “When Charlie came back, she didn't come back carrying a child?” John immediately shook his head. “No. She came back alone. She packed some of her clothes and left again. I don't know where she went.” Alicia stared at him for a moment. Then she smiled. “You better be telling the truth. Otherwise, I'll come back for you.” John swallowed hard and nodded. We turned around and left. There was nothing more we could get from him. But one thing was clear. Charlie had returned to Scotland. And somehow, Emmanuel was no longer with her.

After leaving the Kinlore residence, we finally separated. Everyone returned to their families. Some of us were injured. All of us were exhausted. Our clothes were covered in dirt and dust, and we looked like we had just walked out of a battlefield. Nobody wanted to explain everything. We had survived. For now, that was enough. When Laura arrived home, Prince was sitting with Godness. The moment he saw her, he froze. “Laura, what happened? Are you okay?” Laura forced a smile. “Yes, Father. I'm fine.” Prince looked at her dirty clothes and the marks on her body. “You don't look fine.” Laura smiled again. “We just came back from Colombia.” Prince frowned. “Colombia?” He looked at her. "What were you doing in Colombia?" Laura immediately looked at Godness. Godness looked back at her. Laura suddenly realized that her mother had not told them anything. She quickly tried to escape the conversation. “Father, I'll go freshen up.” She turned and started walking away. Prince looked at Godness. “What is going on?”

Godness sighed and sat down. “Laura and her friends went to Colombia.” Prince stared at her. “Why?” “Alicia Mooney's son was kidnapped. They believed the person who took the child had flown to Colombia.” For a moment, Prince was completely speechless. Then he slowly turned toward his wife. “You knew about this and didn't tell us?” Godness smiled calmly. “She came back safe. I didn't want everyone to worry.” Prince shook his head. “You didn't even tell Bright?” Godness shook her head. “No.” Prince stared at her again. “You are impossible.” Godness simply smiled. At the Wood Residence, Sarah and Samantha arrived just as everyone had finished dinner. The moment they entered the house, everyone stopped. Kelvin immediately stood up. “Sam. Sarah. What happened?” Sarah let out a tired breath. “Dad, we just survived a big attack.” Kelvin's expression changed. “What attack?” Samantha answered before Sarah could. “The cartel we were investigating chased after us.” Tracy immediately looked between them. “What? How? Did anyone get hurt?” Sarah and Samantha shook their heads. “No.” Sarah looked exhausted. “We're fine. We'll go freshen up now.” Kelvin watched them walk away. Something about their explanation didn't feel right. But he didn't stop them.

When we finally returned to the Mooney residence, everyone was waiting for us. Victor was there. The Coaches were there. Mark, Mary, Georgia, Peter and Quinton were all waiting. The moment we entered, everyone looked at us. Cipher immediately explained what had happened. “The cartel boss said Charlie was carrying the baby, but he told us that she had already returned here with him. We will find him tomorrow.” Hammer shook his head. “Madam, Charlie wasn't carrying any baby when she returned.” Cipher froze. “What?” “My team checked the airport security footage. Charlie returned to Scotland alone.” The room became silent. Cipher's face changed. “Then where did she leave my child?” Nobody answered. Mark cleared his throat. “Alicia, my child... what happened? Why are you two looking like this?” Mary immediately added, “I want to know too.” I looked around the room. There was no point hiding what had happened. “Well, I think the cartel eventually realized that we were the ones who killed Willy.” Everyone became quiet. “But they didn't know at first,” I continued. “They told us everything we needed to know. It was only after we left that they discovered who we really were. Then they sent their men after us.”

Georgia looked worried. “They actually attacked you?” I nodded. “They chased us with vehicles and opened fire. We had to escape through the forest near the airport.” Georgia looked at all of us. “Is everyone okay?” Cipher smiled. “Yes. We're fine.” She looked toward Mark. “We'll find Charlie tomorrow.” Mark nodded. “Fine. Get some rest.” Nobody argued. We were exhausted. We needed sleep. But just as Mark finished speaking, his phone suddenly rang. He reached into his pocket and answered. “Hello?” There was silence on the other end. Then a Men's voice spoke. “Mr. Mooney.” Mark immediately frowned. “Who is this?” The voice sounded strange. It was clearly being altered by a voice changer. Mark looked around the room. Everyone became alert. The voice continued. “Is your daughter back from Colombia?” Mark froze. His expression changed instantly. “How do you know that?” He quickly switched the phone to speaker. “Who are you?” The mysterious voice ignored his question. Instead, he calmly said, “Tell your daughter that I have a proposition for her.”

Mark's eyes narrowed. “What kind of proposition?” There was a brief silence. Then the woman's voice became colder. “If she wants to save her child...” Everyone in the room froze. Cipher's face went pale. My heart dropped. The voice continued. “She needs to accept what I propose." The call ended. For several seconds, nobody moved. Cipher slowly looked at Mark. “Dad…” Mark stared at the phone in his hand. Someone had Emmanuel. And whoever it was had been watching us. The question was no longer where Charlie had taken him. The question was... Who was holding our son now?
