C463 You Were Right

Samantha pointed outside. They all left Samantha's room leaving Faith sleeping. Downstairs Sarah finally spoke. “Dad, we told you before that Emmanuel was kidnapped. It turned out to be Charlie Kinlore, Willy Harris's niece.” Kelvin listened carefully. Sarah continued. “Apparently, Charlie gave Emmanuel to Alicia's cousin, the woman we told you about when we returned from training.” Tracy's eyes widened. “The one you said attacked you and you killed her team?” Sarah nodded. “Yes. Her.” Samantha looked worried. “And she wanted to exchange Alicia's dagger for her son” Sarah added. “She agreed to the exchange, but it turned out to be a trap. The whole thing was designed to ambush Alicia.” Kelvin froze. “If she managed to arrange something like that with her cousin, what's stopping her from doing the same thing to you?” Tracy looked confused. “So the exchange never happened?”

Samantha shook her head. “No. It was never a real exchange.” She took a breath. “They wanted Alicia to believe that Emmanuel was inside the basket. But instead, there was a doll with a bomb inside it.” Kelvin's eyes widened. “What?” Sarah nodded. “The bomb exploded as soon as Alicia opened the basket.” Kelvin looked horrified. “How is the Mooney family holding up?” Samantha shook her head. “Not good.” She paused. “The Gupta family is there too.” Samantha pointed upstairs. “I have a patient in my room.” She turned around. “I'll go and check on her.” Tracy watched her walk away. Then she looked at Sarah. “So this is what we should expect from now on?” Sarah turned back. “What do you mean?” “You two going out on missions and coming home injured?” Tracy's voice began to tremble. “What happens if one day you don't come home at all?” Sarah remained silent. “I can't take this,” Tracy continued. “Why can't you just return to your normal lives? Wood IT Company is still waiting for both of you.” Sarah looked at her mother. Then she shook her head. “Because if we stop…” She paused. “Our children will be in danger.” The room immediately fell silent. Everyone understood what she meant. Their lives had changed. There was no simple way back anymore.

A short while later, Alicia and I returned to the Mooney residence. Alicia's left leg was covered in bandages. The moment we walked through the door, everyone froze. Mary immediately rushed toward her. “Alicia, my child! Are you okay?” Alicia looked at her family. “Mom. Dad. Grandpa…” She took a slow breath. “It was a trap.” Everyone became silent. “The security guard told me that Hanna wanted him to kill me.” Mark's expression hardened. “Hanna?” Alicia nodded. “They used the bomb as a backup plan.” Mark looked down at her leg. “Is your leg broken?” Alicia shook her head. “No. It's just a few scratches from the fall.” She then looked toward Victor. “Grandpa, you were right.” Victor stared at her. “Hanna has no intention of letting me go.” Before anyone could respond, the front door opened. Hammer and the other coaches walked inside. Hammer immediately approached Alicia. “Boss, Hanna is nowhere to be found.” Alicia looked at him. Hammer continued. “We searched everywhere we could. Her army said she left during the night.” He paused. “She left with a baby.” Alicia's face immediately changed. Hammer finally noticed her injuries. “Madam, what happened?”

I stepped forward. “They set a trap for us.” I explained everything. “We killed the fake security guard, but then the bomb suddenly exploded.” Hammer frowned. “And Hanna?” “We never saw her,” I answered. Nobody spoke. Then the television suddenly interrupted the silence. “Breaking news.” Everyone turned toward the screen. “Earlier today, outside a Glasgow shopping mall, a bomb suddenly exploded. Police are currently at the scene and have reported that at least one body has been found.” The room became silent. “There is currently no lead on how the explosion occurred or who was responsible. Police say that nearby cameras were unable to capture the incident because they had been distracted at the time.” Alicia stared at the television. Then she smiled bitterly. “Hanna planned this.” Victor nodded slowly. “She wanted everyone to believe it was random.” Alicia looked down. “But it wasn't.” Her expression hardened. “She wanted me dead.” Meanwhile, Charlie Kinlore was back at Willy's estate. She had returned from Colombia and was staying there, waiting for Hanna to continue rebuilding the Harris Cartel. The large estate was no longer what it had been under Willy. But Hanna intended to change that.

The doors opened. Hanna walked inside carrying Emmanuel. Destroyer followed behind her, along with ten armed men. Charlie immediately stood up. Hanna smiled. “Charlie.” She looked down at the baby in her arms. “This is what I promised you.” Charlie stared at the men behind Hanna. “To rebuild the Harris Cartel.” Hanna nodded. “We've already found a few men who are willing to help you.” Charlie looked relieved. “Thank you, Ann.” Hanna's smile disappeared. “However, before we begin, there is something serious we need to discuss.” Charlie immediately became cautious. “What is it?” Hanna waved toward the men. “Leave us for a moment.” The men immediately walked away. Destroyer remained behind. Hanna looked at him. “You too.” Destroyer hesitated. “But...” “Leave us.” Destroyer finally nodded and walked away. The doors closed behind him. Hanna turned toward Charlie. “We need to talk about your husband.” Charlie froze. “My husband?” “Yes.” Hanna placed Emmanuel carefully in her arms. “My sources told me that John was interrogated by Alicia.” “He told them that you went to Colombia.” Charlie swallowed. Hanna's voice became colder. “Your husband is your weakness.” Charlie remained silent. “We need to decide what to do with him.” Charlie looked at Hanna, suddenly frightened. “What are you saying?” Hanna smiled. “I'm saying that if we are going to rebuild your uncle's empire, we cannot afford to leave weaknesses behind.” Charlie stared at her. She realized that rebuilding the Harris Cartel might cost her more than she had expected. And Hanna had already identified exactly where to strike. Her husband.
