C515 The Failed Ambush

Tim thought for a while but thinking alone was not enough. He is a soldier, he take orders and not question them. Darry was his direct boss, disappointing him would more or less result in his death. He finally stood up, he had to carry out Darry’s orders. For the next hour, He gathered a group of his trusted men and began organizing an ambush against Cipher and her team. He knew the mission would not be easy, especially with Alicia’s reputation for being several steps ahead of her enemies. Nevertheless, he had his orders, and he intended to carry them out. However, there was one problem Tim had not anticipated. Trojan Horse Two was among the people he had gathered to planned ambush. Rather than allowing Cipher and her team to walk blindly into danger, Trojan Horse Two immediately contacted her and revealed what was being planned. The warning gave Cipher an advantage, although she had no intention of confronting Tim before understanding the full situation. For now, she would remain alert and let the people planning the ambush believe their secret was safe.

Meanwhile, the boat continued towards the coast. I tracked its movements through the system until it finally reached its destination. What I discovered was unexpected. The coastline was surrounded by several villas, standing at a distance from one another. From where I was monitoring the boat, I could not immediately determine which villa was connected to the boat I was investigating. I continued watching, hoping the next movement would provide a clearer picture of what was happening. At the coast, the boat had barely completed its return journey when Hanna arrived. She wasted no time greeting anyone. Instead, she went straight to the merchandise and began checking the shipment. Her expression remained serious as she watched the men verify the quantity. Fifty kilograms. Exactly what she had ordered. Hanna nodded in satisfaction. Everything had arrived as expected, but she had other business to attend to. She could not afford to spend the rest of the day supervising the shipment. Turning towards Warner, she gave him an order. "Organise the men. I need fifteen of them, and I'm going with you personally." Warner looked at her, waiting for an explanation. "I have a job for all of you," Hanna continued. "Anyone who makes a kill will receive a ten per cent bonus."

The announcement immediately caught the men's attention. They understood what the offer meant, and none of them wanted to miss the opportunity. Warner quickly assembled the men. Within a short time, all fifteen were ready, and Hanna led them towards their vehicles. She had a target in mind, and she was determined to deal with him herself. At the Mooney Residence The atmosphere at the Mooney family villa was unusually busy. Inside the kitchen, Georgia and Mary were preparing a large meal. Pots simmered on the stove while the two women moved between the counters, making sure everything was ready before lunchtime. Following Hanna's previous attack, Peter and Mark had decided that the maids should take paid leave. Hanna had already demonstrated that she was willing to exploit anyone she could use to reach the family. Neither man wanted to take another unnecessary risk by allowing the household staff to remain in a vulnerable position. As a result, Georgia and Mary had taken over the cooking. Despite everything that had happened, Mary wanted the day to feel as normal as possible. She also wanted to show their appreciation to the Highlanders, who had been assigned to reinforce the family's security. Once the food was ready, she went to invite them to lunch. Leon, the Highlanders' leader, was the first to respond. "Madam, our task is to provide reinforcement for the director's family. You don't need to invite us to eat."

Mary smiled. "The order came from your director. Besides, lunch is already prepared, and we've cooked enough for everyone. There's no reason to let the food go to waste. Come inside." Leon hesitated briefly before accepting. "Very well, Madam. Thank you." The Highlanders joined them, and lunch proceeded peacefully. For a short while, the villa felt less like a heavily guarded residence and more like a family home. However, nobody had forgotten why the additional security was necessary. After lunch, the Highlanders returned to their duties. The villa remained heavily guarded, with eight Highlanders stationed around the property alongside twenty security guards hired by Mark. Every entrance was monitored, and the guards maintained their positions. The family had no intention of allowing another incident like the one Hanna had orchestrated. Unfortunately, Hanna was already on her way. Hanna's vehicle approached the Mooney residence with Warner and the other men accompanying her. She had spent whole night planning the mission. She wanted someone specific. Mark Mooney. She wanted him dead. As the vehicles drew closer, Hanna leaned forward and looked towards the villa. "Everyone, listen carefully," she ordered. "I want Mark Mooney's head. Anyone who kills him will receive a twenty per cent bonus instead of ten." The men exchanged glances. The increased reward was enough to make the mission even more attractive, and several of them began looking around in anticipation of what was coming. But Hanna was not looking at the men. She was studying the surroundings.

At first, she noticed a few guards standing outside. Then she spotted another group positioned near a table. A little farther away, several more men were gathered along the pavement. Her expression changed. "Stop," she ordered. The driver slowed the vehicle. Hanna continued scanning the area, paying close attention to the positions of the guards. The longer she looked, the less she liked what she saw. "Abort the mission," she said firmly. "We're leaving." Warner turned towards her in disbelief. "Boss, why? Those men outside are only ten. We can take them out easily." Hanna gave him a sharp look. "Don't be stupid. You're only looking at the ten men outside. What about that group around the table? And what about the men on the pavement?" Warner looked again. This time, he noticed the other groups Hanna had identified. His confidence began to fade, but he was still reluctant to abandon the mission. "Boss, are we really going to leave just like that? We could at least take out the group standing by the road." Hanna shook her head. "And what happens when we turn the next corner and discover another group waiting to ambush us? What if the men we've seen are only there to distract us while the others wait for us to make a move?" Warner fell silent. Hanna looked towards the villa once more. She had come prepared to attack, believing that the opportunity to kill Mark Mooney was worth taking. But she had not expected the residence to be so heavily protected.

The presence of so many guards suggested that the family had learned from the previous attack. Whether they had received information about her arrival or simply strengthened their security, she could not be certain. What she did know was that she could not afford to underestimate them. She turned to the driver. "Keep moving. Drive past the villa as if nothing is wrong. Nobody is to panic, and I don't want anyone revealing a weapon. We are not attacking today." The driver obeyed. Their vehicles continued along the road without stopping, giving the appearance that they were merely passing through the area. Hanna kept her eyes forward, refusing to look back towards the villa again. She would not allow the guards to suspect that she had come with the intention of attacking them. Only when they were safely away from the residence did she begin to relax. The mission had failed before it had even started. But Hanna was not prepared to admit defeat. She wanted to avenge her father. She wanted to Kill Mark Mooney herself. Upon returning to the estate, Hanna immediately turned her attention to the merchandise. She arranged for Mr Potter's twenty-five kilograms to be loaded and made sure the men understood that the shipment had to reach its destination without unnecessary delays.

Once everything was ready, she called Warner and Tiger aside. "You two will take the men who accompanied us on the mission," she instructed. "I have another assignment for you." Both men listened carefully. "Take this shipment to the warehouse. Frank Potter will be waiting for you there. Give him the merchandise and return immediately." Warner glanced at the loaded shipment before looking back at Hanna. "Understood, Boss." Tiger nodded in agreement. "Understood." "Good," Hanna replied. "Mr Potter has already paid, so there's no reason for you to waste time. Deliver the merchandise and come straight back. I don't want any unnecessary delays." The two men assured her that they understood. Soon, Warner and Tiger gathered the fifteen men who had accompanied Hanna earlier. They loaded the shipment into their vehicles and prepared to leave for the warehouse. Hanna watched them depart. Her attempt to reach Mark Mooney had failed, but she still had business to attend to. She would not allow one setback to interfere with everything else she had planned. As the vehicles disappeared down the road, she turned away and headed back inside the estate. There would be other opportunities to deal with Alicia. And next time, she intended to be better prepared.
