C95 Here We Go Again

Watching them argue was strangely entertaining. The more time they spent together, the more they behaved like actual siblings.

After another few minutes, lunch break came to an end. We paid the bill and headed back toward the company.

As we approached the entrance, Alicia suddenly slowed down. The cheerful expression on her face vanished. I immediately noticed. “What’s wrong?” She didn’t answer immediately.

She looked ahead. Parked near the entrance was a black luxury vehicle. Several men in formal suits stood beside it. One of them appeared to be waiting for someone.

The moment Alicia saw the vehicle, she sighed. “My father’s security team.” Chris looked confused. “They came all the way here?” “My father worries too much.”

Before she could explain further, one of the suited men spotted her and quickly approached. “Miss Mooney.” Alicia closed her eyes. “Here we go again.”

The bodyguard smiled politely and handed her two small envelopes. “Your father asked me to give you these.”

Alicia accepted them reluctantly. “What are they?” “Sorry Miss, I Don’t know.” He said. Alicia opened the first envelope.

The moment she looked inside, her expression became awkward. “What does it say?” I asked. She glanced at me before quickly looking away.

Her cheeks turned slightly red. “This one is for you.” She handed me the envelope. Then she opened the second one. Her embarrassment only grew. “And this one is for Chris.” Chris and I exchanged confused looks.
