C11 The Person Who Signed the Contract with Liyang
"Really?" Ye Tian's spirits lifted. At last, something to celebrate had come her way.
"There's no need to question it! You should know who your bestie is," Shang Yuvyuv said with a smug tilt of her chin. "Can you make it to the studio now?"
Blocked by paparazzi for hours, Ye Tian peeked into the ward, bustling with activity, and smirked. "Yes, I'm on my way."
She was lucky to avoid rush hour. After leaving the hospital, Ye Tian took the subway for just five stops and arrived at the studio, where Shang Yuvyuv greeted her at the entrance.
Ye Tian's smile broadened as she embraced her friend. "What's this, Yuvyuv? Am I so precious that you're greeting me outside now?"
"Don't flatter yourself!" Shang Yuvyuv gave her a playful eye roll, though her smile never waned.
"Come on, let's get to it. The whole studio is waiting for you to come back and make a decision." Shang Yuvyuv laid out seven folders in front of Ye Tian, pouting slightly. "You and your insistence on being picky. I should have just made the choices for you!"
"Greedy people never prosper," Ye Tian chided gently as she began flipping through the folders. Each contained offers from well-known magazines in the industry, which explained Shang Yuvyuv's eagerness.
Ye Tian was a rising photographer, and she knew better than to exhaust the resources of her predecessors right out of the gate. That would spell trouble for her future—like setting her own studio ablaze with her first spark of success. Moreover, taking on high-profile magazine shoots so early could hinder her long-term growth, limiting her opportunities in photography.
Despite her financial motivations, her passion for photography remained undiminished.
"New World..." The name rang a bell. She was sure she had seen it somewhere.
"New World? That's part of Liyang Group, and their CEO is Lu Jingyue," Shang Yuvyuv informed her, giving Ye Tian a meaningful look. "Ye Tian, I'm aiming to be the best friend of Liyang Group CEO's wife."
Ye Tian was momentarily taken aback before giving Shang Yuvyuv a playful thump on the head. "You can think about it if you like. I have nothing against a little daydreaming."
If she claimed to be the boss's wife at Gu's Group, Yuvyuv would probably be over the moon with excitement.
Gu's Group... Liyang...
Ye Tian couldn't help but picture Gu Qinian's face turning pitch black upon discovering she was working for his business rival.
Decisively, Ye Tian slapped the folder onto the desk and declared, "He's the one."
Yuvyuv beamed, "Got it!"
Checking her phone, Ye Tian realized it had been thirty minutes since she left the hospital. Were the reporters still not done? Or had Gu Qinian been so preoccupied with Ye Ziyan that he'd completely forgotten about her?
Initially, Ye Tian had considered returning to the hospital to wait, but the thought of being disregarded made her blood boil. Why should she wait outside like she had nothing better to do? She wasn't about to play the waiting game any longer.
"Tian, Liyang has gotten back to us," Yuvyuv whispered, covering the phone's mouthpiece as she approached. "They want to discuss things at the company and are preparing the contract. Are you available now?"
Ye Tian nodded, "Yes, let's go now."
After all, that man had cast her aside. She wasn't about to stir up trouble and give him the chance to use Ye Ziyan as an excuse to trip her up. Why seek out discomfort?
Liyang's office complex was an imposing building, with the company's multifaceted operations neatly segmented. Since New World was a key division of Liyang, their offices were concentrated on the 18th floor.
"You must be Miss Ye," a man said, approaching her as they waited for the elevator. He extended his hand confidently. Ye Tian, surprised, shook it politely, "Hello." His tone was inquisitive, but his demeanor suggested certainty.
The man's assistant, noticing Ye Tian's reaction, introduced him, "This is Director Lu."
