C6 Seeking Revenge for Me
Ye Tian let out a cold laugh, "It was you who threatened me first! Let me warn you, Ye Yongcheng. With grandfather in this condition, if you just stick to being an entrepreneur, I'll stay out of your way. But if you go too far, I won't hesitate to expose every filthy secret of the Ye family and Ye Ziyan, even if it costs me my life. If you make my life difficult, I won't make yours any easier either!"
"You little tramp, I'll beat you to death!"
Enraged by Ye Tian's words, Ye Yongcheng's face turned beet red. He raised his hand to strike her face. Ye Tian was too slow to dodge, and as the slap neared, she instinctively shut her eyes.
But after two seconds, the expected sting never came. Instead, a deep voice sounded beside her, "Director Ye, there are reporters all over this hospital. Surely it's not wise to strike someone in public, right?"
Ye Tian's eyes flew open to see Gu Qinian standing there, his hand intercepting Ye Yongcheng's, positioning himself protectively in front of her.
She was startled. How long had he been there? Had he overheard her exchange with Ye Yongcheng?
Ye Yongcheng, too, was taken aback by Gu Qinian's sudden presence, especially since his 'future son-in-law' had witnessed his unseemly behavior. He quickly lowered his hand, his voice tinged with embarrassment, "You caught me at a bad moment, Qinian. I was frantic with worry for my daughter. Hearing that Ye Tian had pushed Ziyan down the stairs, I lost control, especially with this girl showing no remorse and spewing curses..."
"That's enough, second uncle, no need to explain. You left your own father in the hospital for three years without a care, so what's a slap to your niece?" Ye Tian cut him off, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She glanced at Gu Qinian, who stood nearby, with a mocking smile.
Ye Yongcheng grew desperate, "You wretched girl, if you continue to spread lies, it's clear that you're the one with the evil intent to harm Ziyan."
"Alright, Director Ye, I'll handle this issue. You should go check on Ziyan."
Gu Qinian interrupted Ye Yongcheng once more. His tone remained cultured, but now it carried an undertone of impatience, and his gaze had grown somewhat frosty.
Realizing further discussion was futile, Ye Yongcheng shot Ye Tian a venomous glare, exchanged a few pleasantries with Gu Qinian, and then turned to leave.
"Coward!"
Ye Tian scoffed at the retreating figure of Ye Yongcheng. Being scared of her dad and grandpa was one thing, but now, even Gu Qinian? Her second uncle truly lacked any semblance of Ye family spirit.
Gu Qinian glanced at her sideways, "Proud of yourself for nearly getting slapped by a coward?"
"At least I wouldn't fall for a coward's daughter."
Ye Tian shot back a biting reply and turned to walk away, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "What now? Checked on your beloved's injuries and ready to come after me?"
Ye Tian, recalling her smugness as she deliberately tumbled down the stairs, felt a twinge of fear. Gu Qinian wasn't easily deceived, and Ye Ziyan was the woman he loved. Aren't people blind when it comes to love?
"A video surfaced online proving you didn't touch her when she fell. It was her own carelessness," Gu Qinian said in a steady voice, following Ye Tian's steps.
Ye Tian's face flickered with concern, but she quickly regained her composure, arching an eyebrow and feigning ease, "So there's a good Samaritan who cleared my name so quickly. I really should thank them."
"Drop the act."
Gu Qinian turned to face her, speaking plainly, "I know you're the one who uploaded that video."
