C13 I'm at the Police Station

"Why not?" The man sneered. "You're the one who hit me, weren't you?"

"That was an honest mistake. I didn't mean anything by it." Even then, the bright look in my eyes was as transparent as daylight. The man scowled.

"Do you really want to die?" He swung his stick toward me, but I dodged. Before I could think about it, I grabbed a beer bottle sitting by the barstool and threw it at him.

The men surrounding the leader didn't really make a move initially. In fact, they had simply intended to watch the show. However, now that we were fighting back, they immediately went for their sticks and attacked us.

It was a good thing that Yetta and I had learned a thing or two about defending ourselves. By the time the police arrived, the hooligans were injured, but it wasn't as serious.

We recorded our statement at the police station. However, as the two of us had also been involved in a fight, we still needed someone to bail us out.

Yetta was an orphan. She didn't have any other friends in Rafana other than me, so she could only rely on me to bail us out.

I didn't really make any friends throughout the years. In fact, the only ones that I had a connection with were both Kieran and Schaffer. I took a deep breath and dialed the latter's number.

The phone was picked up after two rings, but there were no responses on the other end of the line. With a flushed face, I breathed out, "Dr. Wheeler, I'm so sorry to bother you at this hour. It's just—I'm at a police station, and I need someone to bail us out."

Seeing that there was still no response at the end of the line, I said again, "Dr. Wheeler? I'm so sorry but—"

"Teresa!"

Kieran?

Why would he pick up Schaffer's phone?

I froze. "Kieran, you—"

"Just give me the address." His voice sounded icier.

It was obvious that he wasn't in a good mood.

"The Rafana Police Station!"

Without another word, he ended the call. Yetta gazed at me with wide eyes. "Why didn't you just call Kieran in the first place?"

"When I left, he was drinking. I thought he was already asleep. I didn't expect..."

I didn't expect Kieran to answer the call.

Half an hour later, Kieran entered the police station surrounded by a group of people. The man still appeared cool and handsome. In fact, despite having looked so disheveled a few hours ago, he looked like he was about to take a picture with the world's largest magazine.

He was well-known around here, not just for his looks, but also his influence. After all, he always appeared in the headlines of every financial magazine, attracting everyone's attention.

Seeing this, Yetta gaped. "Actually, I understand why you're so infatuated with him," she murmured. "Just being called Mrs. Juarez would be enough to make me fold."

I rolled my eyes. She had already advised me to divorce him earlier, but now—

She really flipped sides.

After Kieran had negotiated with the officers, Yetta and I were finally able to leave.

At the entrance of the police station.

The police officer who had detained us looked at us in a new light. "The next time you encounter the same situation, just call the police. Don't try anything like this again!"

"Of course, Officer."

However, as soon as we left, Yetta mumbled, "Damn, if I didn't try anything, the police would be the ones collecting my dead body!"

I wanted to say something else when a chill slid down my spine. When I looked over, I saw Kieran in a black suit, leaning against the jeep.
