C3 The Last Gentle
Soong Lyi looked at the wounds on his face that had been treated by Shee Yunyi, and listened to what he had just said.
"Captain Li, you are overstepping your boundaries." She walked sideways towards the other side.
However, Lih Haozhe pulled her directly into the car with a hint of annoyance.
"Hsu Zhaoyan is also a firefighter, and his age is shorter than mine. This will affect you even more." Lih Haozhe drove forward at a steady speed, his voice low.
His words were like needles piercing Soong Lyi's heart, making her angry and upset.
"What delay? You're talking behind my back now that you have a child, is this not absurd?!" Soong Lyi retorted coldly.
Lih Haozhe tightened his grip on the steering wheel, "I can't explain to you about Chen for the time being, you can't be with Hsu Zhaoyan anyway."
"What if I insist?" Soong Lyi looked at him calmly.
The car shook and Lih Haozhe suddenly braked, then stopped the car by the side of the road.
"Soong Lyi, you know my personality." He was trying to calm himself.
Soong Lyi looked at him, biting her lip to prevent the mist in her eyes from turning into tears.
A phone's ringtone broke the silence between the two of them. Lih Haozhe took out his phone and looked at it with a gentle expression.
"Dad, Chen wants you to sleep with me!"
Soong Lyi didn't want to hear it, but she still heard the childish voice from the other side of the phone, as well as the gentle and elegant voice of a woman.
"The child insisted on having you, and refused to sleep …"
Soong Lyi was sitting on the edge of her bed as her ex-boyfriend and his family spoke to each other warmly.
She could not bear to listen any longer, so she opened the door and got out of the car.
Just as Lih Haozhe was about to call Soong Lyi, Shee Yunyi's apologetic voice came from the other end of the phone.
"I'm really sorry for troubling you at such a late hour …"
"It's fine, I'll come over later." Lih Haozhe quickly said and hung up the phone. He then hurriedly drove the car next to Soong Lyi.
He rolled down the window and frowned at the woman who had lowered her head to wipe away her tears.
"Get on the car, I'll take you back."
Soong Lyi stopped and shouted at the man in the car almost hysterically, "Lih Haozhe, what are you doing? Give me my last tenderness? I also want face. I don't want to be entangled with a man who betrayed me yet didn't want to explain to me! "
Every word seemed to tear through flesh and blood from the vocal cords, causing endless pain to his heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys.
Lih Haozhe suddenly stopped when he was about to get out of the car. A trace of patience flashed across his black eyes, but it was well hidden.
He retracted his gaze, stepped on the gas and sped away.
The car sped past Soong Lyi, raising clouds of dust.
Soong Lyi covered her eyes and let the tears fall through her fingers.
It was drizzling, and the city was as wet as she felt.
It took Soong Lyi a while to regain some clarity. When she got home, her head felt heavy.
She changed her clothes and lay on the bed to rest, but the pillow and the blanket all had the smell of Lih Haozhe.
No matter how he breathed, he couldn't break away from it.
Soong Lyi's head felt like it was about to explode. She wanted to get up and change into a clean blanket, but she lacked the strength. It felt like her entire body was on fire.
Soong Lyi had no choice but to curl up on the sofa, shivering and sweating.
"Ding." The phone rang. Soong Lyi picked up the phone and picked it up drowsily, but she didn't have the strength to speak.
A man's voice sounded on the other end, anxious and worried.
"Lih Haozhe …" A handsome face appeared in Soong Lyi's mind as she murmured to herself.
But in the next second, her consciousness gradually dissipated. Her phone slipped from her hand and she became unconscious …
