C7 CHAPTER 7

"Roman, Nate. You're here." My uncle said with a charming voice and I wonder what was up this time.

Roman pinched my sleeve. He knew how his father could be when he wanted to ask for something he knew they were both going to disagree.

"Good day father." Roman said as he sat at one of the chairs with his legs across the seat.

"Good day sir." I greeted. He has always wanted me to call him father but I have been finding it difficult to say so and I don't know why he doesn't pressure me about it.

"How was sparring today gentlemen?"

I looked at Roman, who was more distracted with the brochure he took from the table. He does this all the time when we're called. He prefers I answer all the questions myself.

"It was okay. The boys are all doing good." I said with a smile.

" That's good to hear. Roman? How about you? " He looked towards him.

Roman looked up from the brochure with a knowing smile. He looked more like his mom when he smiles but he has his father's personality.

He is the perfect example of the saying 'like father like son' and I always admire that. I hope to have such with my son too.

My mind quickly went to Lily and our unborn child. I wonder if it would be a boy. I smiled to myself. It didn't matter if it's a boy or girl, I would love he/she very much as I love their mother.

"Father we have talked about this before, whatever Nate says is what's going on." Roman said and gestured at me.

"Well Nate, one of these days you fix a sparring day with this guy here. " He pointed at his son.

I chuckled and looked at Roman who acted as though he didn't hear what he said.

Last time i fixed one for them, Roman had a broken nose. It was funny because he insisted to spar with his father. Lake had put a bet on her father's name and I supported Roman. I lost though and Roman laughed at me for choosing him against his father.

"Father, if you're trying to humiliate me again, I proudly disagree. You broke my nose before." Roman finally reacted..

I snickered. "Don't worry I'll place my bet on you again. You may win this time around."

Roman threw me the magazine and I laughed. "You used the word 'may' so you're pretty confident that I'll loose again."

I looked away with a smile. He got me. Last time I sparred with my uncle, I almost lost a finger and Roman did laugh at me that day.

My uncle chuckled deeply at his son's fear.

"Let him be. You laughed at him when he sparred with me."

Roman frowned and said nothing.

" But why did you call us father? "

I turned to look at my Alpha. I almost forgot to even ask.

"That's right. It's about Lily's background. "

My Lily?

" What's wrong? Is something off about her? " I asked with curiosity.

Roman was curious too that he drew his chair closer to his father's table.

"Lily's parents are not actually her parents."

I frowned as I tried to process what he meant by those words.

Roman's question brought my attention.

"How do you mean father?"

I nodded looking at my uncle. He could see the questions swarming in my eyes and my confusion.

"Actually her late father is her biological father but her mother isn't. I was trying to solve the prophecy but I needed more background on her and that's how I found out. " he explained.

Her father is late? I didn't even know that. I didn't even get to know her more socially. I was more into knowing every part of her body than her. She really must not like me as much as I do. Women always need to have more reason to love a man and I haven't even done one.

"You didn't know about these did you Nate?" My uncle looked at me with a knowing look.

I felt ashamed for that and I heard Roman snicker. I'm sure he was thinking that I was more into her body and not her.

"That's alright you can make it right."

"Does she know about her mother issue?" Roman asked.

"I don't think so. I need you to find out. Dig as much as you can until you do. No one tells her about it until we find the woman."

I nodded and Roman nodded too.

"She needs you Nathaniel." My uncle said to me.

"Huh? Is something wrong? The baby?" I sprang up immediately.

My uncle shook his head. "No none of those. Today is her father's memorial. Go comfort her."

Fuck.

Why didn't I get to know this on time and I left her this morning.

I ran out of the office immediately and telepathically communicated with Lake, asking her about Lily.

Telepathy is the gift lycans have. We're able to communicate with each other through our minds. As long as we're in the same pack but for people who have a mate from another pack can build the link after completing the mating ritual. That's why I can't communicate with Lily directly.

"She's at the pond. She wanted somewhere close to nature and she asked me to give her some privacy. I didn't want to tell you about it. Is there something wrong?"

Lake communicated back telepathically. I told her to ask Roman about it and I need to get to Lily now.

I felt so bad that I left her alone today. I should have known all these if I was more inclined in getting to know her than between her legs.

She really must hate me already. I am already in love with her and women always need reasons to love someone and I haven't given her any at all. I hope I get a second chance to win her heart though.

I got to the pond and I found her sitting beside the pond and she was lost in thoughts.

She looked so angelic in her white satin gown and beside her I noticed the flowers I sent.

Gently, I walked up to her.
