C4 .. Chapter 3..

"Really that's hilarious,"I said laughing while throwing my head backwards due to what Ovie said. He was talking about his childhood when he mistakenly drank urine thinking it was juice, his friends decided to prank him because he was always doing that to them. "I'm serious when they told me that, I ran immediately to throw up. Thinking of it right now it's very disgusting," he said while making a face at me. This night has really turned out fun for me though, I never expected him to be so laid back like this but uptight because he's a lawyer. Well, just like the saying goes never judge a book by it's cover.

"So I think I should be going home now, it was nice meeting you. I had fun this night, would you mind giving me your digits,"he said while outstreching his phone towards me with his hands. "Sure I don't mind, let me warn you though don't turn out to be clingy," I said while laughing. "No I won't milady," he said while bowing towards to me. He sent me a wink and waved goodbye. I was seriously blushing after that gesture, I never expected him to be so handsome. "Syl it's time to go home". Urgh dad not now, you literally just spoilt my mood.

"Via next time I won't condone that act you showcased today at all, are you listening don't you ever try it in your life again, or else," my mom ranted in the car on our way home. I'm really not ready at all for this issue, I hate arguing with my parents because I always tend to apologise even if I'm right sometimes. I internally scoffed and rolled my eyes, leave it to my mum to bring back up an issue. "Mummy I was angry at that moment and the first thing that came to my mind was to leave that position, I wasn't ready for the long talk". "What did yo-".

"It's okay honey let's drop it, go home and have a wonderful sleep," dad interrupted. Thank God for his intervention because I'm already feeling sleepy. When we finally got home, I rushed upstairs to take off my clothes and have a warm bath. As I was coming out of the bathroom I saw my phone on the bed ringing. When I looked at it I realised it was an unknown number calling me. "Hello, please who am I speaking with?". "Hi sweetheart," a masculine voice erupted from the phone. Sweetheart keh I wonder who is this, I hope it's not some criminal.

"You hurt me darling you can't remember me at all, we met at your party today. Its Ovie," he said. "Oh I'm so sorry I was just surprised because I don't have any male friends." "That's good oo at least I stand a chance, hope no one is waiting on the line". "What?, why do you say that, you make it sound like you like me," I said while feigning surprise and innocence meanwhile I was ecstatic and pratically jumping in my room. He likes me, he likes me!!!!. "Of course that's why I spent time with you, I'd really like to know you better. Please go on a date with me tomorrow." When he said that I was pratically hyperventilating.

"Um yeah I guess, I don't have any plans tomorrow,"I said while stuttering and doing a happy dance around my room. "Okay I'll send you the details right now to you on WhatsApp, Bye". "Okay bye," I said while waving. I face palmed myself when I realised he wasn't with ne in the room. After some minutes I got a message. 'Me, you at La mango by 2pm for lunch💌'. Seriously this guy really knows how to charm a lady, I'm already smitten by his little gestures. I threw myself on the bed I sighed anticipating tomorrow's date.

I had the most wonderful dream last night, I went to the date with Ovie and he asked me out. I know I'm being a little bit ahead but you have to blame unconscious me though. I literally can't wait for the date, I pratically woke up with a smile on my face this morning. I rushed to the bathroom to take care of myself, when I was done I went downstairs to have breakfast. As I sat down at the table, because I was in a good morning I apologised to my mum. "It's okay dear I understand you, I sincerely apologise too but what made you really happy this morning," my mum said sipping her tea while raising one of her eyebrows.

I almost spat out my tea, my mum hardly apologises because to her she's always right so to say I'm shocked it's really an understatement. "Okay mum, well I'm going on a date today with Ovie". "What?,when did this happen," dad said while narrowing his eyes at me. "I'm not even surprised, I saw them yesterday at the party laughing and smiling at each other," mum said while looking at me knowingly. "So tell me what did you guys talk about,? where are you guys going,?"she bombarded me with questions.

Yeah when it comes to guys my mum is always in support, my dad's the one who is always sceptical but since they both know Ovie I think it won't be a big deal. "Mum calm down, we are just going out for lunch nothing serious. Besides I'm not telling you the location," I said while sticking out my tongue at her. Yeah trust me to be immature. "Via that's not fair at least just tell me the place so I'll know how to dress you up." "Dress me up? mum I'm twenty one not five," I replied rolling my eyes. Mom's a very big fashionista like me so we kinda have the same taste though.

"You are still our little girl so I want him to come over here to pick you up. You are not cheap at all, I want him to respect you even if we know him," my dad said while looking at me lovingly. This is why I really love my dad so much, he always tries to look out for me . I can remember when I was seven years old, I came back home crying, I explained to him that my class teacher spanked me because I was rude to her. I expected my dad to scold me but he reported the teacher to the school authorities"Okay daddy if you put it like that then I'll tell him to come over to the house."

"Are you scared of my dad because you have being drumming your fingers on the table ever since you got here," I said to Ovie. I texted him the change of plans and he was a bit sceptical about it. "Of course I am, have you seen your dad he's very intimidating," he said while fretting. I couldn't help it anymore I burst out laughing. "Really I thought you are the big bad lawyer. Besides you know my dad, you work for him it shouldn't be hard for you." "Of course I'm scared this is the first time I'm meeting him officially as your boyfriend to be," he scoffed. "You shouldn't be scared, he's yo-"

"He should be, he's taken a liken to my daughter," dad interrupted while coming down the stairs kissing my forehead. Shoot, I couldn't ask him what his last statement meant. "Dad please pity the poor guy, he looks like he'd faint anytime soon." "Ovie I assume you know how dear she is to me so I suggest you take care of her very well. I give you my blessings but don't you dare hurt her," my dad said threatening him. "Yes sir, I promise sir, I swear with my life that no harm will come to her as long as she's with me" "Very good, you guys should go now, you don't want to be late."
