Francisco’s eyes flicked open at the sound of seagulls calling overhead. He blinked, disoriented, as he looked around. He had fallen asleep on Hazel’s lap, but now she was gone. A flash of worry jolted through him as he quickly stood up, his heart pounding.

"Hazel!" he called out, his voice echoing across the water.
