Abeer's POV

I am a person, who never complained to God from Childhood for anything that happened in my life till now because I am an atheist. I do not find it right to blame someone else for your present situation.

I believe in "Karma", what you will do now in present, you will get back in future. So don't curse God for your sorrow or anything else.

I really wanted to help her so I decided to stay here, at her apartment, to save her some money from my treatment expenses.

And once I get well then I will pay her money and will also give her a good job to live a luxurious life.

"I know I am a Mafia leader but Mafia's too have a heart like any other human being."

"Especially, when that someone is your Life saviour", I thought in my mind.

"And this is the perfect place to hide as no one will even suspect me. And I will also get a good chance to work on my plan from here", my mind scoffed at me.

"So what will you have for your dinner?", Khushi asked, breaking the chain of my thoughts.

" Umm", whatever, you have. No issues! , I replied.

"Then you take some rest here. I will make some soup and noodles for you", Khushi replied, with her dimple smiling face.

At dinner time

We both are eating silently as we do not have any idea what to say!

Sometimes, situations like this happened where things get awkward and we choose to remain silent.

"So how was the food?", Khushi asked breaking the silence around us.

" It's fine", I replied immediately.

"By the way, I want to ask you one question, do not you remember anything related to your past?", Khushi asked in an inquiring way.

"No..I did not ", I retorted.

"Umm...okay...okay...do not take any kind of stress, The doctor has forbidden you to take any kind of stress, Khushi said nervously.

" I could not stop myself from giggling in my mind after seeing her in such a condition."

"Poor girl, she thought that I do not remember anything and I am helpless," I thought in my mind.

"How innocent and cute she is!", my mind retorted.

After finishing our dinner, Khushi went to clean the table and dishes.

And I quietly sat on the couch, changing the channel on Television.

And there suddenly, my eyes went to the news where the news of my accident was being displayed. I immediately turned around to look after Khushi, who was busy in cleaning the dirty dishes.

"The leader of the Mafia world...The great billionaire....The Mafia boss, Abeer Malhotra, has been missing since after his accident. Has he really gone missing or is he dead?", flashed on the news screen as breaking news? I immediately turned down the sound of the channel and switched off the Television so that Khushi's eyes do not fall on this news.

Suddenly, I felt a hand on my shoulder and I got frightened.

Turning around I saw, Khushi was standing with a bag of warm water.

"Would she have seen that news?", I thought in my mind.

"What happened?", she asked seeing my pale face.

No... no.. nothing, I replied hesitantly.

"Alright!...take this bag and put this below your back, you will get some relief from your pain", She replied.

"I hurriedly took it from her, so that she does not know the truth".

Okay..so as you can see there exists only one bed and we are two, she informed me, hesitantly.

"It is okay. You will sleep on that bed and I will sleep on this couch", I replied making myself comfortable on that couch.

"No ways"...You are not going to sleep on this couch. It is not good for your health, at least this time. Already your body is in too much pain, so do not add another reason in that", Khushi retorted, just like when a mother forbids her child to do anything wrong.

"But I cannot let her sleep on that couch, after all, she works the whole day in her job and after getting so much tired, she needs proper rest and the biggest point is, this apartment belongs to her. She is the owner so why does she sleep on that couch, not on the bed." I thought being impatient, in my mind.

"Okay then, I have an idea that decides who will sleep on the bed and who will sleep on the couch?", Khushi announced with a mischievous smile on her face.

"And what was that?", I inquired, raising my eyebrow.

"We will make chits of our name and then I will toss those slips and then I will select one and whose name will appear on that slip, that person will sleep on the bed without any further argument. Is it okay?", Khushi asked impatiently.

"I do not know why, but I have an intention that something is fishy", I thought in my mind, seeing her mischievous smile.

"Alright, but I will choose the slip...Is that okay?", I retorted to her.

" Umm...okay...I have no problem with that", Khushi replied to me.

Khushi tossed the slips and I started to pick one of them and gave it to her.

"And after seeing her face, full of happiness, I knew the result that I lose and She won".

#In_bedroom

"I could see the stars twinkling in the sky and the fresh air coming inside the room from the window, well I never observed the nighttime so deeply, where seeing the sky view soothes your eyes and relaxed your mind. I actually never got time for all this in my life. Every time there was some business deal, some emergency, travelling to another place for meetings and all that occupied me throughout my life." I thought in my mind sleeping on the bed.

But Sleep was far away from my eyes so I decided to go back to the living room to watch her sleeping peacefully. Without making noise, I entered the living room, where Khushi was sleeping peacefully on the couch.

"Suddenly, my eyes went to the remaining chits, in which our names were written. I started opening every slip, once at a time and got amazed to see only my names written there in every slip. She did not write her name in any of the slip. So that's why she was smiling mischievously that time. She cheated and won the game." I thought in my mind.

"But even if she did all this, it was for me and for my safety", my mind retorted at me.

And suddenly Khushi started murmuring something in her sleep. I tried to listen to her, what she was saying.

She started getting scared in her sleep and was saying leave me, let me go...please let me go. She started screaming again and again without opening her eyes. May be it was a nightmare.

I went to her and hugging her tightly, I tried to console her.

"She calms down when she finds me near her."

And hugging her like this, I didn't even know when I dozed off, sleeping peacefully.
