C2 I warned you!

Paul drove crazily. He almost crashed into people and some stalls along the road. He wanted to make sure Mai's mother was fine. "Drive slowly uncle - we don't want to end up in the hospital before we reach my house!". Mai said to him. It was like she was the adult in the car. As he drove, Paul couldn't help but flash back to the things that happened thirteen years ago. And tears welled up in his eyes.

"I love you Rubi". He whispered in her ear, as he left a trail of kisses from her lips, down her neck to her chest. "I love you too..". She replied in a shaky voice. That night was their wedding night. Rubi had gone to register her marriage with Paul against the wishes of her father. They were both in love and determined to be together. But they didn't know what was in store for them.

He pinned her hands above her head, and slowly went in. She bit her lips from the pain, as tears welled up in her eyes. "Does it hurt - do you want me to stop". Paul asked in a concerned tone. He didn't want to hurt her, and she was really tight. "N-No - don't stop. Keep moving". She was in a lot of pain, but when he stopped moving, it felt worse.

"Okay I won't stop. It'll be over soon okay?". He kissed her deeply. When they were done, he carried her to the bathroom to shower. Her body was weak. She wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. They fell asleep quickly. They lived together happily for 6 months because they had bought an apartment in a different state.

When Rubi's father discovered their whereabouts, he ordered his men to burn down Paul's parents house. The old couple died in the building from suffocation. He took their company shares and everything thing that belonged to them. He forcefully took Rubi away, and Paul couldn't do anything to fight back.

He only had a few hundred thousands in his account. He arranged his parents funeral. Rubi had to escaped to attend the funeral. She went back home sad. Her parents in-law loved her dearly.

When Rubi discovered she was pregnant, her father tried to force her to have an abortion. She threatened her father with her life. Only then did he allow her to keep the pregnancy. She waited for her delivery date in anticipation - but her father had different plans.

As soon as she had the baby, it was forcefully taken away from her. All she knew was that her baby was a girl - she didn't even get to hold her child. She was traumatized for months. Then her father forced her to marry Mike all for the sake of business.

She still doesn't know the whereabouts of her child. Every night she would look at the photos she took when she was pregnant with that child. It's been years but she still hasn't gotten over the incident. And she keeps telling Paul to find their daughter.

When they got to Mai's house, she took him upstairs. When they entered the room, Paul knelt down beside her bed. He placed his hand on her forehead. She had a slight fever - he took a wet towel and placed it on her forehead.

Tears fell down his cheeks as he looked at her seemingly lifeless body. He held her hand and his body shook violently as he kept crying. Rubi opened her eyes. "Paul... " She called out to him softly. "Don't speak Rubi, you have a fever. I'll take you to the hospital okay". Paul said while holding her hand to his chest.

"Don't cry Paul, you know I hate it when you're sad". Rubi said weakly. "Where's Mike?" Paul asked angrily. "Dad left to the airport a while ago". Mai said. They had completely forgotten that she was in the room.

"Mai, come here". Rubi gestured to her daughter. Mai walked closer to the bed. "Go get a glass of water for uncle". Mai ran downstairs to the kitchen. Paul held Rubi's hand tightly.

"I told you to run away with me Rubi - I had booked flight tickets to another country. We could've changed our identity and lived happily". Rubi wiped the tears from his face. She cupped his cheek with her hand - he gently leaned into her touch.

"I've missed you Rubi". Paul said softly. "Rubi I warned you. I told you not to agree to the marriage - Mike doesn't have a good reputation and behavior. Now look at how he treats you - look what we've lost Rubi. All the beautiful years we could've spent together".

"Paul did you find our baby?". Paul was shocked by this sudden question.
