C3 We'll find her soon

Paul had very little information and he didn't want to give her false hope. He held her hands tightly then he said, "I found some information about her. It's not much - your father had ordered his assistant to kill the child, but she didn't. The woman kept the child alive. She took the baby to an orphanage. If I'm able to find that woman then we can find our child".

Tears started falling down Rubi's cheeks. "You promised to help me find her that's why you became an officer right? it's been 13 years already - I couldn't even watch my daughter grow. Are you really not going to do anything?!" She said in a sad voice.

Paul wanted to confront her but he didn't know how to. It's been so long but even he himself had started to lose hope. He wasn't sure if they would ever find her. "Rubi please don't cry - I'd use all my collections and I'll try my best to find her just wait a bit more - we'll find her soon. I promise". Paul said comfortingly.

Mai came back with the water. She saw her mom and Paul crying. She felt it was adult stuff, so she didn't bother to ask. She left them both to discuss and went to her room to study. Paul received a call and went out to answer it.

"Speak Ali, I was in the middle of something". Paul ordered.

"Sir we have some information regarding Mr Mike Stone, as well as the disappearance of his wife Betty Stone, twelve years ago. He had claimed the woman to be mentally unstable and sent her to the asylum against her wishes".

Ali didn't know if the information was useful to his boss, but he felt it was relevant, since the police allover the city was now searching for this man. "Go on - I'm listening". Paul said.

"Ahem... Mr Stone had paid the asylum to retain her, even though she was mentally fit. The woman had committed suicide there in the asylum. Autopsy reports show that she had acute depression and suicidal thoughts. She wasn't mentally unstable sir. Mr Stone then staged a fake car accident - in which people believed his wife had died. He did all of this so that he could marry the woman he was crazy about. Ms Rubi Thorne".

Paul's eyes widened in shock. The man got rid of his wife just so he could be with Rubi?! This man was a psychopath. "Is there anything else?" he asked. "Yes sir - unfortunately Mr Stone already left for Seattle. We can't do anything for now". Ali said.

Paul rubbed his temple. "Ali, keep looking for information about this man and keep me updated. Also I need you to look into the case of a missing child from thirteen years ago - the child was born at xxx hospital at 3:45.a.m. I'll text you the details". Paul commanded. He hung up and went back to see Rubi. She was asleep again. He kissed her forehead and covered her with the blanket.

Paul told Mai he was leaving. Mai walked him to the door before going to bed. It was already 1:30.a.m. Paul drove to the neighboring city. That was where the owner of the orphanage lived. She was now in her late fifties, but she enjoyed the night life so much. She would usually leave her house around this time - and she'd visit all the clubs in the area to hook up with men.

She would come home drunk the next morning. This sort of promiscuous lifestyle disgusted Paul, but he had to meet her because she had information that was important to him.

The woman came out of her house dressed provocatively. She was wearing a short black dress, that was way above her knees with a plunging neckline, that exposed the sagging skin around her neck. She had dyed her hair blue, and had a tattoo on her left thigh, but Paul couldn't make out what the tattoo was exactly.

The woman hailed a taxi, and Paul followed closely behind. She went into the club on the other street. Paul parked his car at the corner and followed the woman in.

He pretended to want to spend the night with her. "Hey beautiful, you're not here alone are you?!". He said to her already feeling disgusted, but trying to sound normal. "No I'm alone tonight, but most times I come with a date. It's $100 per night". She said while running her fingers down his chest.

"No wonder she has so many customers!". Paul thought in his head. She's so cheap. "Sure baby, let me buy you a drink first. The night is still young". Paul said while taking her hand off his chest. They took a seat at the bar. The bar tender came to ask what they'd like to drink. Paul passed a note to the bar tender "give her the strongest liquor you have here tonight" with a $200 tip.

The bar tender nodded, and got to work immediately. He passed the glass to the woman, and she gulped it down immediately. She asked for another shot. After about four shots, Paul signaled the bar tender to stop. The woman put her hand on his thigh and started moving upwards towards his pants button.

He held her hands to stop her from moving. "what are you doing?" he asked angrily. "Oh..nothing hic....I just want to... hic....I want to see how big you are....hic.... ". Paul felt the strong urge to throw up.

Paul forced himself to endure. "We can't do that here, let's go to the room. When we're there, I'm all yours". He led the woman to the room and put on his recorder. "Take off your clothes handsome, I'm so fucking wet for you". She said in a hoarse voice.

"I have some questions first - We'd do this later". The woman sat on the bed and crossed her legs. "Okay ask". She said.

"I'd like to ask you about Aldo Thorne". The woman was a little surprised. "Does he finally want to kill me after finding out that I didn't kill child?". She asked. "No ma'am. He doesn't want to kill you. He regrets his actions and is happy that you didn't kill the child. He finally accepts the child as his family now so he wants to know where the child is". Paul said convincingly.

"I don't know where the child is now, but I know she's doing well. I don't manage the orphanage anymore, my daughter Alicia does". The woman took off her dress and started walking towards him. "Alicia says she was adopted by a nice family - if you want more information then go to the orphanage". He pushed her away and injected her with a sedative.

If the child had been adopted, finding her would be more difficult. He was happy to know his baby was fine. Now he had the eagerness to find her and hold her.
