"Xia Nannan, where is your manners?" Hearing the child's words, Xia Mu said.

Nannan stared at Zhang Dali, her voice also became wronged as she said in a low voice: "Hello uncle!" He turned around and ran back into the house.

Zhang Dali didn't take the enmity of the children seriously. He knew that if he wanted to have an ending with Xia Mu, he had to get through these two children. However, these two children were not as easy to deal with as he had imagined.

With this thought in mind, the smile on Zhang Dali's face deepened as he apologetically said, "I came in a bit too quickly, I don't know what the kids like, so I just bought some stuff. I don't know if they like it or not."

Xia Mu didn't have any plans to develop with Zhang Dazhi, she had already made up her mind to raise the children by herself, but Zhang Dazhi hadn't actively contacted her during this period. She only thought that her attitude was already very clear, this man should understand her thoughts, but she didn't expect that Zhang Dazhi would actually come knocking on her door today.

Xia Mu still understood why she didn't hit the smiling man. She pondered for a moment before opening her mouth and saying, "The children don't need it either, so don't be so polite."

Inside the house, Baby saw his sister running in angrily. He could clearly hear the conversation outside. He whispered, "Big sis, what is that person doing?"

Nannan rummaged through her schoolbag, trying to find the piece of paper with Mu Dong's phone number written on it. Hearing her brother's words, she snappily replied, "Baby, do you want him to be our father?"

The baby immediately shook his head and said, "I don't like him! I like Uncle! "

Nannan poured all the things in her schoolbag onto the bed, fiddling as she said, "Okay then, in a bit you will listen to me!"

"En!" The baby nodded.

"Darling, is this a goldfish you guys raised?" Chang looked at the fish tank on the table, almost like a little girl.

The little girl didn't care about his kindness and just rolled her eyes at him. After that, she hugged the fish tank and moved it away.

He knew how much Xia Mu valued his two children. After all, they were still children, so it was impossible for him to accept a stranger at this moment. After a long time, he would eventually become a true family.

As for the future, Zhang Dali had already made a plan. He was now working as a production team leader at the construction site, so his job had also increased a little. If he could settle things with Xia Mu and gather more money, he would be able to build a house in his hometown.

Perhaps it was because he thought that a good day was right in front of him, the corners of Zhang Dali's mouth curled up even more.

"Baby, you stay here. I'm going to make a call." Nannan whispered in her brother's ear.

"Elder sister, I want to go as well." Baby didn't want to be with this uncle at all.

"I'll call uncle. Keep an eye on him. Don't worry, I'll be back soon." Nannan softly said.

"Alright then!" The baby nodded unwillingly.

Xia Mu's phone was placed beside the bed and Nannan took a painting book and moved it to the side of the bed. She placed the phone inside the book and ran out of the house.

"Xia Nannan, where are you going?" Xia Mu who was in the kitchen saw Nannan and shouted.

"I'm going out for a bit." Nannan said to Xia Mu, worried that Xia Mu would not agree so she added, "I will stay at the door, I won't run far." After he had finished, he ran to the entrance of the yard.

"Don't run far." Xia Mu complained as he ran out of the kitchen. However, that small figure had already run out of the courtyard.

Nannan did not run far as she sat down at the entrance of the courtyard. He took out the piece of paper with the number "Arabic" written on it from his pocket and pressed on the phone, dialing out the numbers one by one. As he did so, he muttered: "139 …" After pressing the eleven digits, he looked at the piece of paper and checked it before pressing the green button.

"Du, du …" Nannan held her breath as she waited for the call to be made. Her mind was still thinking of what the first thing she wanted to say to her uncle, but after waiting for a long time, she did not see the phone call. She only heard the mechanical voice of a female reminding her, "I'm sorry, the person you dialed is temporarily unable to reach us. Please try again later …"

The little girl didn't give up and tried calling him again. She tried calling him again and again, but the call still didn't connect.

Sigh! Nannan put her phone down on the stairs and held her chin as she looked forward, thinking in her heart: Uncle, what did you do? Why didn't you answer the phone?

In the kitchen, Xia Mu was busy preparing dinner. She had not been prepared for Zhang Dazhi's arrival, but he had already reached the door and there was no way she could have hurried him back.

Fortunately, he bought some dishes in the afternoon, and Xia Mu quickly cooked four dishes and a soup, all simple and common. Taking into account that Zhang Yuanliao was used to hard work, the main dish for dinner was rice.

After adding some salt, the last egg drop of the gourd was ready to eat. Xia Mu shut off the fire.

As he carried the soup out of the kitchen, he saw Nannan walk in from the courtyard. For some reason, the little girl's face was tense and she did not have a hint of a smile.

"Nannan, what happened?"

Nannan shook her head and did not reply.

Xia Mu only treated it as a child's temper and did not take it to heart. He called out to Nannan and said, "Go wash your hands with your baby and eat your meal immediately."

The baby's hands were covered in soap, and her chubby little hands were rubbing each other. She looked at her elder sister who was pouting and asked softly, "Big sister, did you find uncle?"

Nannan was in the middle of fighting her hands when she heard her brother's question. She unhappily replied, "I didn't manage to get through the phone. What did my uncle do?"

"Elder sister, is the person in the room really going to be our father?" the baby asked worriedly.

"No, I'm here. I'll go find uncle later. Baby, help me cover it."

"Huh?" The baby looked at Nannan in astonishment, "I will go with you, okay?" He also really wanted to go and find his uncle!

"No, we're both going. Mom will find out. You wait at home."

"But …" The baby shook his hands in dissatisfaction.

"Darling, darling, are you done washing your hands?" Before the baby could finish, Xia Mu leaned out of the house and shouted.

"He's coming!" Nannan gave her brother a "you must keep this a secret" look and pulled him back to the west room.

After entering the room, the table was already set up so Nannan was not in a hurry as she took advantage of Xia Mu's lack of attention and took a detour around the bedside before putting the phone back into its original position. Only then did she walk to the table and sit.

At a small table sat four people, two children and two adults. The dishes on the table were more sumptuous than what the three of them usually ate: shredded green peppers, roast beef with potatoes, roasted crucian carp, fried tofu with cabbage, two meat and two vegetables, and an egg soup with a silk melon.

In terms of cooking skills, Xia Mu was naturally gifted. Since a very young age, she had learned to cook from her grandmother, and when she had a child, her cooking skills would improve by leaps and bounds. Even though life had been tough, under Xia Mu's delicate hands, ordinary ingredients could be turned into delicious food. Thus, the two children's nutrition was sufficient, especially Nannan, who was quite pretty and had half a head taller than other children of the same age. As for the baby, although she lacked natural talent, Xia Mu still put in effort to raise the baby. When she wasn't sick, the baby would still be a healthy child.

Nannan sat in her own little chair, looking at the person who appeared out of nowhere, her little face filled with displeasure. There was no other way. This was a very normal thing to do. The little girl did not oppose the idea of finding her father, but the problem was that she already had a father in mind.

The little girl held a small chopstick in her hand and glared at Zhang Dali, who didn't seem to notice her child's hostility at all. After receiving the bowl of rice from Xia Mu, she smiled and said, "Sorry to bother you."

Xia Mu replied with a smile, "Nothing much, just a pair of chopsticks."

Nannan pursed her lips and muttered a sentence before turning to Xia Mu with a sweet smile and said, "Mama, I want to drink soup." He kicked the baby.

Baby took the hint, raised the small bowl, and said, "Mom, I want some soup too."

Xia Mu apologetically said to Zhang Dali, "Eat more food, don't be polite." Following that, he began to call the two children over for dinner.

When Nannan saw that her mother's attention was once again focused on her, she took advantage of the time when Xia Mu was boiling soup to squeeze out a face full of satisfaction towards Zhang Dali.

Faced with the child's provocation, Zhang Dazhi innocently smiled, "Nannan, eat more food." Saying that, she picked up a piece of beef and sent it into Nannan's bowl.

The little girl held the bowl in her hands and avoided the chopsticks. She embarrassedly stopped mid-air with the chopsticks in her hand.

"Xia Nannan, don't mess around." Xia Mu naturally saw his daughter's actions. She could see the emotions of the children, but since Zhang Dali was here, she didn't say anything.

Perhaps because Xia Mu's voice was a bit loud, Nannan looked at Xia Mu's expression and said with her small face, "Thank you uncle, I don't like eating beef."

Zhang Dali replied in embarrassment as he took back his chopsticks.

This really was a depressing dinner. Nannan looked at the beef on the plate and thought back to the words she just said. She swallowed her saliva and then ate. Forget it, eating a meal of beef is not a big deal, just defend the position is the most crucial!

Xia Nannan, do your best, you must chase this uncle out!

Usually, the three of them had a very lively dinner. The two children would tell Xia Mu about what happened during the day at the kindergarten, and Xia Mu would smile as he listened to the children, occasionally asking a question or two.

However, for today's dinner, due to the addition of an unfamiliar Zhang Dazhi, Nannan was not happy that she did not call Mu Dongdong. Moreover, the baby was on the same side as her elder sister, so she did not want to say much. As for Xia Mu, apart from persuading Zhang Dali to eat more dishes, he didn't have much else to say.

In short, other than Zhang Dazhi, the guest, who was very satisfied with the meal, the remaining three people all felt very heavy.
