C10 Chapter 10

Chris wanted to leave in his car when he got a call from the client that he is now around and apologized. He decide to stay back and attend to him instead of just leaving.

When he get to know that it was actually the Avan from high school she is getting married to, he became more angry and told his secretary to lie about his whereabouts.

He even got an earful from his uncle concerning the deal he signed with her, he felt crazy for doing something like that but for some unknown reasons he keep wanting to do them.

Chris suddenly felt a hand grab his as he turned to walk back to the cafe and before he could react, reporters were all over him then he heard her say she is getting married to him.

He was dumbfounded thinking she must have gone mad for a second, He look at her questioning and tried to loose her hold on him but she held on tightly much to his surprise then she smiled and continued

"i never mentioned that am getting married to Avan, you all assumed it. This is LOVELIES new partner, the CEO of TK company and we are getting married"

"have you gone mad?" Chris voiced out not believing how smooth the lies came out of her mouth

"darling, I know you didn't want it to be made public sorry" she said signaling and pleading with her eyes for him to act along with her. Chris faced everyone forcing a smile

"now can you excuse us, we will like some privacy" she said and hold his hand firmly then the both of them walk into the office. Immediately they entered and are out of sight from the reporter she let go of his hand

"am so sorry, am really sorry" she pleaded desperately. Chris look at her amazed by how fast she changes wondering if sorry is the only word she knows

"i know am very wrong, am really sorry I really had no other choice"

"ohhh" Chris said without showing if he is angry or not

"are you angry then I will do anything you want I mean no that will make it twice but I will make sure to fulfil my promise and repay you for you help" Chris heave a breath and made to walk away but she held him back and looked at him with pleading eyes

"since am already owing you a lot the can you do one last favor for me?"

"what is it?"

"can you wait here with me till they all leave?" Chris yanked her hand away and wanted to leave but then one of the staff approach them

"are you getting married?" she asked and the both of them remained silent

"so.. are you getting divorced instead?"

"no, we need to be married first before getting a divorce" Chris replied wanting to leave but she blocked him

"then you are getting married, aren't you Miss Laura? Come this way" she said and walk away.

Laura stay silent not knowing what to do but Chris suddenly took her hand then walk inside with her.

The both of them came out in less than thirty minutes with their marriage certificate in their hand, Clara walk up to them and informed her that Avan was in the hospital and that's why he has not been able to pick his call or come over.

"what happened to him?" Laura asked worried and wanted to leave with her but then remembered Chris is still there

"am really sorry but can we meet and talk about everything later? My fiance is in the hosp…I meant Avan is in the hospital and I need to go right now sorry" she said then dash out again with Clara then drove off before he could reply.

Chris stood there with his certificate in his hand stupefied, He tried to process what just happened and realize he just got married without being given any choice and his wife just left to see her fiance who is in the hospital.

He walk to his car and sat down then took out his phone to call Josh and sure enough he was at some club, after getting the location, he drove to meet him trying to find something to distract himself

The news of Laura marriage to the company's new partner CEO of TK company was a shock to a lot of people. After beating LOVELIES group of company and winning the contract instead of them, the CEO still manage to get married to her.

The board of directors were angry and believed that she already planned it from the beginning and just fooled them and her stepmother was disappointed also. Those at TK company were also shocked as phone calls start to coming in from reporters and all. They winning the contract has given their company a big publicity but their boss getting married to their opponent company's CEO has doubled their popularity.

In no time, People start to assume different rumors that she cheated on Avan while some concluded that the marriage was fake but Laura herself was sleeping in her room oblivious of what her actions has caused in the business world.

After leaving the hospital yesterday without informing Avan about what she did, she went straight home and turn off her phone to avoid any disturbance and slept off.

She wake up around ten in the morning and first went to wash off the makeup on her face then freshen up and change to another clothes before turning on her phone to see tons of messages.

All her friends that haven't spoken with her for years start to ask her about who she got married to and why its not Avan.

While some congratulated her and wanted to meet her husband, She ignore all the message and put a call through to Chris's secretary first, she knows she must have caused him a lot of disturbance by her action yesterday and he will probably be furious with her.

As her call connect to the other line, the secretary without waiting for her to talk just said she will connect her immediately and cut the call then shortly she receive a call from an unknown number which she assume to be Chris and pick it up

"am so sorry, am really…" she was apologizing but Chris cut her off as if he already know that will be her first words

"lets meet, you pick the time and place" he said then hang up again which made Laura hissed.

At least he could have listened to her talk. Her phone lit up with Avan's number the next second and she answered it

"where are you? I came to your house last night you were not answering. don't you think you need to explain things to me" he yelled very angrily

"am at home" she said and dropped the call…
