C7 Marry Me?

The atmosphere in Shena's house looks so crowded with people helping to put out the fire. Shena immediately got out of the car and ran to find Amanda's whereabouts.

"Amanda! Amanda! Where are you?" Shena looks panicked. Gaze wishing she would quickly find Amanda.

"Amanda!" Shena hugged Amanda's body when she found the girl's whereabouts.

"Shena! I'm so scared." Amanda cried hysterically in Shena's arms. Her body trembled with tears that already rolled down her cheeks.

"Calm down, don't cry. I am here," Shena said, holding back tears. While Aaron was standing beside the girl while watching them both.

The fire engine arrived and immediately helped to extinguish the fire that had devoured the simple house.

Shena stared at the simple house full of memories with her late father. Her heart ached, as a sharp object had hit. Now the house full of memories has been eaten by the burning fire. Then, after this, where will she and Amanda live? It was the only property they had.

♡♡♡

"Drink first," said Shena helping Amanda to drink.

Amanda rubbed her lips. Trying to grab Shena's hand and bring her in the grip. The tears that had previously stopped now streamed back down her cheeks.

"I'm sorry because I got our house on fire and now we don't have anything anymore."

Shena gently rubbed the tears on Amanda's cheeks, even though at the same time her tears escaped from her lids. "You can't beat yourself up."

"But this is my fault. If I refrain from not cooking noodles, maybe this won't all happen."

At that time, Amanda was hungry and took the initiative to cook noodles. Then the fire broke out so quickly when a cloth beside the stove caught fire. Amanda, who could not see, was even more panicked and scared. She could do nothing but scream for help as she tried to get out of the house.

Shena pulled Amanda's body into his arms. Her eyes were closed with a hand rubbing the girl's shoulder.

"Dad ..." Shena whispered as the tears rolled down her cheeks.

Aaron looked down when he heard Shena's low voice. He couldn't imagine if what happened to Shena would also happen in his life.

Aaron's hand stretched out to rub Shena's shaking shoulders, making the girl gasp in surprise then turned to look at Aaron. Aaron could catch the gleam of sadness and fragility radiating from that girl's eyes.

"Sorry...."

"I don't know what to do after this. The house is the only treasure we have," she said without taking his eyes off Aaron.

"You and your little sister are two strong women. I believe that you can pass all the trials that come."

Shena smiled faintly in response. Aaron froze, looking at the faint smile that emanated from the girl. For the first time, Aaron saw Shena smile despite her fragility.

♡♡♡

"Mommy passed away after giving birth to Amanda. Then we went through life without Mommy. Until finally, exactly one year ago Amanda lost her sight. Our daddy, who only worked as a paid farmer, could not afford to pay for Amanda's eye surgery. Lucky Amanda can accept her condition as a blind girl who can only see black in every gaze."

Shena looked at Aaron who was sitting beside her. Tears dripped through the lids of the eyes. Shena sobbed, feeling the pain of the wound in her heart. "Then Daddy left us for good. And now, the only treasure our parents had, has been ravaged by the fire."

Shena looked down. Powerless to speak again. All that was heard now was the poor girl's cry.

Aaron shifted his seat closer to Shena. Hesitantly, he reached out to rub the girl's shaking shoulders.

Not a word came out of the mouth of the two. Aaron allowed Shena to cry until her heart relieved a little. He understood it was not easy to be in that girl's position. Regarding Amanda, currently sleeping at their neighbor's house. Amanda is still very shocked by the incident that happened earlier.

Shena raised her head. Taking a deep breath, then turned to Aaron who had stopped rubbing his shoulders.

"Sorry, I was so telling you a personal problem me."

Aaron smiled faintly as he shook his head a few times. "It's okay. No problem."

The situation calmed down for a moment. Until finally, Aaron took a deep breath before opening his voice.

"Shena," called Aaron making the girl turn her head with raised eyebrows.

"Why?"

"Once again I apologize to you, I am the one who has ruined the happiness of your little family," said Harun.

Shena fell silent, waiting for the next words of the man in front of her.

Aaron took Shena's hand and brought her into his. Makes the girl stare in surprise at him.

"Marry me."

One second...

Two seconds...

Three seconds...

Shena brushed Aaron's hand away. Then look away from the other way. Made Aaron smile wryly, understand Shena's reaction.

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm serious, Shena. Marry me."

Shena glared at Aaron. "Why should I marry you? Even we just got to know each other. I and you are both strangers."

"I know, this sounds crazy and absurd. But I seriously invite you to get married," said Aaron about to grab Shena's hand, but the girl immediately stood up from her seat.

"You better go now. I have other business," said Shena without looking at Aaron.

Aaron also got up from his seat "Please think again about my invitation to marry you. Let's just say that this is a form of my responsibility to you and Amanda for making Uncle Yudha die," he said.

Shena spun around. Stared at the boy standing in front of him for a long time.

"I told you, forget about that responsibility."

"I can't possibly do that, Shena. The more I try to forget it, the more it makes me think. I can't escape the mistakes I've made."

"And you think getting married is the best solution?" Shena asked.

Aaron nodded his head determinedly. "Yes. Being a husband certainly has a big responsibility for his wife's life. And I will make sure, your life will be more secure after marrying me."

Shena was about to open her mouth to cast a protein, but first Aaron spoke again.

"Not only that. But also regarding Amanda. I will pay for eye surgery for her and continue her studies if she wants. Please think about this carefully. You love Amanda right? She was too young to endure all the bitterness of life. Likewise with you. Do you want Amanda to remain in darkness all her life? "

Shena's lips pressed tightly hearing all the words that came out of Aaron's mouth.

"I hope, you will consider my offer, Shena. Please think about this carefully. For Amanda's future too," said Aaron staring into Shena's eyes. "Then I'll excuse me. I have to go back to the office."

Shena stared at Aaron's departure, who had disappeared from his sight.

"Married? With the man who made me and Amanda lose my father forever? This is crazy," muttered Shena.

♡♡♡

Aaron stopped the car right over the bridge that spanned the river. Then he got out of the car and stood staring at the water flowing below him.

Asking Shena to marry was a crazy idea. Aaron himself did not know why the idea just crossed his mind. Was it because Shena was beautiful that it made it so easy for her to get married?

But he didn't think that was the reason. There are girls out there who are even prettier than Shena. So what? He doesn't know either.
