C12 Drug

We were now entering a low-cost restaurant and took a seat. We continued our conversation until we reached aunt Helena and Archer.

“When I had the accident. Why was Aunt Helena taking care of me? I heard from the maid that she was my daddy’s mistress.”

“What else is there? To share with your company.”

“Huh? Why should I share?”

“Of course, Archer is your half-brother, so you’ll have to split the inheritance! You know what?! When you were in an accident! There was a rumor that they were the cause! The paparazzi claimed they wanted to take over your business!” Ava murmured as she looked around at the people who could hear her.

My heart got louder. Why do I think people are doing bad things right behind me which I don’t know about?

Ava drew her face even closer to mine, whispering even deeper. “I honestly believe that’s the reason they’re taking care of you in the hospital, so they won’t be suspected!”

My eyes widened because everything Ava says has a point. When we went to the party, there were paparazzi who asked about such an issue. I just didn’t pay attention because Randall immediately ushered me into the hall.

And the current situation too about calling their name on stage when, in fact, I should be that person!

My head still heats every time I remember that.

“Help me!” I said.

The server approached us and handed over the menu. I waited for Ava to choose food before I proceed.

“Help me!” I repeat.

“What is it?” she said, irritated, maybe already hungry. But that’s not the look of someone who doesn’t want to talk anymore.

“My mind is racing with questions. I’d like to know them one by one. Randall, too, is ...” I couldn’t complete what I was saying.

“What? Do you like suspense?”

“Randall, too, is... I don’t want to trust him yet.” I said sadly.

Randall has given me many reasons not to trust him. The first was in the garden, the second was Aunt Helena’s call; the third was him kissing Charlotte, and the final was her not calling my name in the merging of my company. I am the managing director. I am the wife.

“What help do you require? Money is not permitted. Despite my beauty, I don’t have any money,” she chuckled as she bit her nails, although there was no dirt on them. Ava is wealthy, but I’m not sure why she lives the way she does.

“I’m curious about everything. Maybe it’s too late before I even remember everything.”

When I remembered the medications aunt Helena had given me, Ava was just listening to me.

Begin with something suspicious to uncover the truth.

I grabbed my bag, rummaged through it, and pulled it out. Three more capsules are remaining. It’s the same medication my doctor usually gives me to help my memories return faster.

“Aunt Helena gave these to me.”

Ava picked it up and lifted it to inspect it. She raised it behind me because there was sunlight. It surprised me when she dropped her hands on the table and opened the plastic bag containing only medicine. She took one from there and raised it to the sun again.

It filled her eyes with fear as she looked at me. When she opens the red capsule, she finds a new color. My heart rate increased.

The top is red; the center is white, and the bottom is red. As her hand shaking, Ava handed it to me.

“These are benzodiazepines,” she said nervously, her face still shocked.

“What exactly is that?” I replied, “I have no idea.”

“This is referred to as non-medical drug-induced amnesia. Prescription drugs that can cause amnesia are the most commonly used. If she gave these to you. There is only one reason. She wishes to postpone the return of your memories.”

I dropped the capsule I was holding as soon as Ava said it, and my phone rang.
