Wen Ruanruan dressed simply, leading the girl to assume she was just an ordinary person sneaking in for some fun with her child.
"Miss, I'm here to compete. I'll say this one last time: please speak respectfully," Wen Ruanruan's patience was wearing thin.
"What kind of attitude is that? Do you even know who I am? My mom is one of the event judges. If you upset me, I have a thousand ways to make you and your little brat cry and beg for mercy!"
Tiantian clenched her tiny fists, looking up defiantly, "Tiantian is not a brat! Tiantian has a daddy and mommy!"
The girl sneered, emphasizing each word, "I say you are, so you are! A lowly, blind brat! Now hurry up and pick up my paintbrush!"
Wen Ruanruan's expression grew darker. She had given this arrogant person plenty of chances, but since she refused to see reason, she couldn't be blamed for not holding back.
But in the next moment, a familiar, cold voice sounded from behind her, "Miss Gu, you sure have a lot of nerve!"
The girl's face changed instantly, and when she saw the icy expression of Choo Liting behind Wen Ruanruan, she couldn't help but flinch.
Why was this big shot here?
"My wife and daughter, in your words, are country bumpkins? Brats? Hmm?"
Choo Liting's face was as cold as ever, without a hint of emotion, yet the anger in his deep, dark eyes was unmistakable. Gu Anan was so scared her legs were shaking. She had no idea she had accidentally provoked such an important figure!
"I... I didn't mean it like that," Gu Anan stammered.
"Didn't mean it like that? So, I misunderstood you, Miss Gu?" Choo Liting sneered. "Well then, are you going to pick up the paintbrush yourself, or do you need me to help you?"
Gu Anan wouldn't dare ask Choo Liting to do anything. She quickly bent down, her voice trembling, "I'll pick it up myself!"
But as soon as she reached out, Choo Liting's polished shoe was already firmly planted on the other end of the paintbrush, its shiny tip reflecting a cold gleam.
"Apologize to them," Choo Liting's voice was chilling.
Gu Anan, in a humiliating half-kneel in front of Wen Ruanruan and Tiantian, was too terrified by Choo Liting's intimidating presence to lift her head.
After a long pause, she choked out, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Choo. I was blind to have offended you earlier. Please don't hold it against me..."
Wen Ruanruan held Tiantian, her expression cold and silent. She wasn't the type to easily forgive, and Gu Anan's downfall seemed well-deserved.
“Get up,” Liting said coldly.
Gu Anan wiped her tears and stumbled away.
Ruanruan put away her serious expression. “Thanks, Liting. But didn’t you say you were too busy at work to make it today?”
Liting frowned slightly, a hint of reproach in his voice. “You’re Mrs. Choo now, and you’re still calling me Director Choo? I worked overtime just to be here for you.”
Ruanruan blushed and smiled shyly, feeling a bit embarrassed as she used the unfamiliar name. “Li... Liting.”
Liting’s lips curled into a slight smile. “Good girl.”
Ruanruan quickly lowered her head to hide her flushed cheeks.
For the preliminary round, everyone needed to create a painting that fit the theme within an hour.
Before going on stage, Tiantian cheered Ruanruan on, “Mom, you’ve got this! You have to beat that annoying lady!”
