C4 First Meeting Lost Heart!
The next day, outside Liya High School:
"Third Master, you do realize this is a school, right?" Chen Xiao said, gazing at Liya High School with a sense of trepidation.
Just yesterday, he had finally received a lead on the elusive Godly Doctor, but Yichen had instructed him not to pursue it. Sure enough, the trail had gone cold within the Imperial Dragon Court.
Now, to his surprise, the Godly Doctor was rumored to be within this very high school.
"Are we supposed to go in and search?" Chen Xiao felt like crying.
Chu Yichen lit a cigarette, took a drag, and rested his elegant hand on the car window, his deep eyes scanning the school's entrance, a storm brewing beneath the surface.
"Wait."
Another wait!
"Third Master, perhaps we should wait inside the school?" he suggested cautiously.
Chu Yichen flicked the ash from his cigarette and stepped out of the car.
Chen Xiao breathed a sigh of relief, locked the car, and the two made their way to the headmaster's office.
...
"Director, I'm afraid that won't be convenient for me," Hsu Yiwen said, her demeanor gentle but her voice resolute. "The Elite Class is on a tight schedule. Falling behind would only be detrimental to the student."
Her expression conveyed a sense of 'I'm only thinking of the child's best interest.' "Ms Yee is known for her patience. It would be fairer for Su Ningning."
Hsu Yiwen had little respect for Su Ningning, someone who had never been formally educated.
Moreover, today was the diagnostic test, and she had no intention of letting Su Ningning drag down the class average.
The rivalry between Class One and Class Two was fierce.
She adjusted her glasses, her professional attire accentuating her competence. Her piercing gaze then shifted to the school director, Liu Changfa.
Liu Changfa coughed discreetly, masking his discomfort.
He thought to himself that if it weren't for the consideration of the Su family, he would prefer not to place Su Ningning in Class One.
After all, it was tied to the performance on the entrance exams, which was linked to scholarships. Liu Changfa turned to Yee Xin and inquired, "Ms Yee, what do you think?"
Su Ningning stood quietly to the side, her gaze subdued, a hint of mockery playing at the corners of her eyes.
Pale fingers intertwined, they gently rested on their stomach. To those who knew her well, her actions would clearly signal impatience.
Yee Xin, with a light smile, watched Su Ningning's demure demeanor with exceptional delight. "Student Su Ningning, our class may not be on par with the top class, but with dedication, anything is possible," Yee Xin said with a smile. "What do you think?"
At the sound of her voice, Su Ningning abruptly looked up. The sight of Yee Xin's subtle dimples brought a sense of ease to Su Ningning, prompting her to flash a sweet, obedient smile. "Okay, thank you, Ms. Yee."
Hsu Yiwen stifled a laugh, "Ms. Yee, remember, you chose this for yourself. Don't pin it on me."
She scoffed inwardly. Yee Xin really had no shame, basking in praise as if she were truly infallible. Did she actually believe she could guide someone who had never studied to graduate successfully? What a farce.
But it was none of her concern. Clutching a stack of papers, she sashayed back to her seat.
"Let's go familiarize you with the class," Yee Xin suggested, a hint of joy in her heart. She opened the door, and they left the room one after the other.
Chu Yichen reached the top of the stairs and as he looked up, his gaze lingered, his breath catching for a moment—all eyes were drawn to the radiant figure before them.
The girl's long hair cascaded over her shoulders, neatly framing her white short-sleeved shirt. Her ripped jeans accentuated her long, slender legs. Her features were striking, exuding an innate sense of grace and tranquility as she clutched a black backpack tightly.
Feeling his stare, she abruptly looked up, their eyes meeting. Su Ningning's stride faltered, a flicker of curiosity crossing her face as her lips parted and her eyebrows furrowed slightly.
In just a brief moment, she turned away and hastened her steps to catch up with Yee Xin, gradually vanishing from his view.
Chen Xiao caught sight of Su Ningning and was momentarily dumbfounded, his steps turning mechanical. "Third Master, isn't she—?" he began.
"Shut up," came the curt reply.
