C11 Car Race!

Evening had fallen.

Shi Qian was nestled in the hammock on her balcony, engrossed in a game on her phone, her fingertips rapidly tapping the screen. She was thoroughly enjoying herself when her phone rang, interrupting her flow.

With a hint of resignation and a touch of laziness in her voice, Shi Qian answered, "Hello, what's up?"

The male voice on the other end was equally languid, tinged with a hint of annoyance. "Xiaoqian, remember the car race tomorrow."

Shi Qian responded with a mix of exasperation and humor, "Big Brother, there are seven days in a week, and you've reminded me eight times!"

"Only because you don't keep your promises!"

Caught out and without a defense, Shi Qian conceded, "I swear, I'll be there on time tomorrow."

"That's better. I'll be waiting for you."

"Okay, I'm going to hang up now. Back to my game."

After ending the call, Shi Qian didn't resume her game. Instead, she put her phone aside, stood up, and headed for the bathroom.

The following afternoon, Shi Qian set out in her car.

She arrived at the Nine Revolving Mountain in the West Suburbs, where a crowd of people and cars had amassed. Some were there to compete, others to spectate.

Gripping the steering wheel, Shi Qian drove leisurely, scanning the scene outside her window until her eyes settled on two racing cars—one black, one red. She steered towards them.

The man in the black car seemed to have spotted her. The door swung open, and out stepped a man clad in black jeans and a black T-shirt, exuding a roguish charm. He flashed a grin in Shi Qian's direction, effortlessly cool and charismatic.

It was Jiang Ci, the Jiang family's second young master, who had called Shi Qian eight times in one week, adamant that she attend the race.

Shortly after, the door of the red car opened, and another man emerged, dressed in a striking red shirt. His gaze also turned to Shi Qian.

This was Huo Fei, Jiang Ci's close friend and the Little Young Master of the Huo family, a lineage just shy of the four major families' prestige.

Shi Qian pulled up close to them, pushed her car door open, and stepped out.

Dressed in black with a cap pulled low over his face, he was almost incognito.

Huo Fei glanced at Shi Qian with a grin, "Ms. Qian, you've finally decided to grace us with your presence."

Leaning casually against the car door, Shi Qian retorted, "With both of you blowing up my phone, how could I stay away?"

She paused before adding, "We need to wrap this up early, though. Master Zhan has no idea I'm out here racing."

Jiang Ci gave her a sidelong glance, "You've got some nerve. We had a deal to go to C University together, and then you spring on me that you're enrolled at Di University!"

Shi Qian fell silent.

Back in high school, she had purposely chosen an unassuming school to keep a low profile. Unexpectedly, that's where she met the legendary Second Young Master Jiang of the Imperial Capital. A series of coincidences led them to become friends, and eventually, Jiang Ci discovered she was from Monarch Garden.

They had a solid friendship, and after meeting Huo Fei, the trio planned to attend C University together. But come the start of the term, Shi Qian ended up at Imperial University instead.

It wasn't really her fault. She had agreed to go to C University with Jiang Ci, but Master Zhan had other plans, insisting she attend Imperial University without any room for discussion.

She hadn't told Jiang Ci that it was Master Zhan's decision, only that she had made a mistake on her application. Jiang Ci was understandably upset, which is why Shi Qian had agreed to join him for the race.

Not far off, by the roadside.

Sheng Xu sat in a sleek black race car, observing Shi Qian and the others.

Even with her hat strategically placed to hide her features, he recognized her instantly. He had become intrigued when he overheard her mention Nine Revolving Mountain at the school cafeteria.

Nine Revolving Mountain was a well-known haunt for racing aficionados in the capital. While not professional racers, those who frequented it were of no ordinary standing.

The two individuals with Shi Qian, particularly Jiang Ci, were far from average. Watching Shi Qian, Sheng Xu couldn't help but smile, sensing that things were about to get even more intriguing.
