Shi Qian was the first to make it back to the bend in the road. And not only that, there was no sign of the other three cars behind her. The man next to Huo Fei's eyes went wide with disbelief as he stared at Shi Qian's car. "Damn, how is that even possible!"

About a minute later, Jiang Ci, Sheng Xu, and Lu Sizhe showed up one by one. Everyone was speechless. That was seriously impressive!

Huo Fei turned to the man beside him. "Time to transfer the money, right?" The man grimaced, his teeth clenched. "Transfer the money."

At the bend, Jiang Ci, Sheng Xu, and Lu Sizhe each stepped out of their cars. Shi Qian watched Sheng Xu and Lu Sizhe from her window but didn't budge. She hadn't expected the braggarts Jiang Ci mentioned to be Sheng Xu and Lu Sizhe!

Jiang Ci was in high spirits. Although Sheng Xu had lost, he seemed to be in a good mood as well, conceding, "You won this time."

Lu Sizhe, curious, asked Jiang Ci, "Your friend's pretty skilled. Why isn't she getting out of the car?" He glanced at Shi Qian's car but couldn't see the person inside. He hadn't paid attention to who it was when he first arrived.

Jiang Ci replied with a lazy tone, "She's not fond of meeting new people."

Shi Qian, sitting in her car, glanced at the time on her phone and then spoke into her Bluetooth headset, "Jiang Ci, let's go."

After a brief chat with Sheng Xu and Lu Sizhe, Jiang Ci got back into the car. Huo Fei joined Shi Qian in her car, and the trio drove off together.

Lu Sizhe watched the receding car and mused, "Who is that? So secretive." Turning to Sheng Xu, he asked, "You got here early. Did you see who it was?"

"I saw," Sheng Xu replied.

"Do we know them?" Lu Sizhe pressed.

Sheng Xu just smiled, offering no name. "Let's head back," he suggested and turned to get into his car.

Shi Qian, Jiang Ci, and Huo Fei made their way back to the city center from the western suburbs as evening approached. Huo Fei boasted about winning a bet and offered to treat them to a lavish meal.

However, as they walked past a bustling food stall, Shi Qian remarked, "This place looks pretty inviting."

Jiang Ci glanced at a barbecue stall by the roadside and agreed, "It does look good. Let's eat here at the food stall."

So, they parked the car along the curb and settled on an open-air spot for barbecue skewers.

The trio found a table on the edge of the seating area.

The owner approached with menus in hand. "What would you like to have?"

Huo Fei perused the menu, "Let's get meat skewers, chicken wings, roasted prawns, scallops..." He ordered a generous selection, then looked up at his companions, "Ms. Qian, Mr. Ci, anything else you'd like to add?"

Shi Qian replied with a laid-back tone, "No, that should be plenty. We're good with these."

Jiang Ci took the menu and added a few more items to their order.

Across the street, Shi Muxue and Wen Yiran were seated in a sleek black car.

They had spent the day shopping together and had picked up quite a few items.

Wen Yiran's gaze suddenly caught sight of the trio dining at the food stall across the way.

"Isn't that Shi Qian over there?"

Upon hearing this, Shi Muxue looked over and confirmed, "Indeed, it's her."

Shi Qian was actually enjoying a meal at a roadside stall with two men!

Observing this and reflecting on the stark contrast to the upscale restaurant she had just visited, Shi Muxue couldn't help but feel a sense of smug satisfaction.

Wen Yiran withdrew her attention from the scene and commented with a sneer, "A country bumpkin will always be just that, content with such trashy roadside fare."

Shi Muxue remained silent, yet she felt a surge of contentment.

After a moment, Wen Yiran continued, "Muxue, you mentioned your family is planning a partnership with the Su family, is that really happening?"

"Yes," Shi Muxue confirmed with a nod, "My dad mentioned it. He was so pleased yesterday that he even gave me a present."

Wen Yiran's eyes brimmed with envy.

Even though the Su family couldn't be counted among the top echelons of the Imperial Capital's elite, it was rumored that their backing came from none other than the Huo family, which ranked just below the four major families.

Of course, this was merely a branch of the Huo family, not the main lineage.
