C18 They Would Not Give Prince Face
Sheng Xu's smile lingered at first, but as Shi Qian continued to ignore him, his brow furrowed slightly. "Hey, isn't there any reaction for having a super handsome guy like me sitting next to you?"
Upon hearing his voice, Shi Qian turned her head in surprise. "Huh? Sheng Xu?"
The Prince, accustomed to being the center of attention, felt as if he'd been dealt a massive blow. She hadn't even noticed him!
For the first time, he felt utterly invisible.
"Yes, it's me," Sheng Xu said, looking at her curiously. "What's on your mind? You seem lost in thought."
Could she be thinking about Jiang Ci?
He speculated silently.
Shi Qian shifted her gaze away, responding nonchalantly, "It's nothing."
After a brief pause, Sheng Xu spoke again, his voice lower. "You handle a car pretty well. Are you and Jiang Ci... quite familiar?"
At the mention of Jiang Ci, Shi Qian glanced back at him. It appeared he had seen her that Saturday.
She pondered briefly before replying, "Fairly."
"What exactly does 'fairly' mean?"
Shi Qian smiled. "What's your angle, Young Master Sheng? Coming here early in the morning to pry into personal matters?"
Sheng Xu chuckled. "I'm just looking to befriend you. Plus, I want to remind you to watch out for the bad guys."
He was, of course, referring to Jiang Ci.
Shi Qian remained silent.
It seemed there was indeed some bad blood between the two.
"Hey, do you play games? Have you heard of 'Definitely Subversive'? It's been a hit for the past couple of years," Sheng Xu inquired further.
Shi Qian nodded. "Yes, I'm aware."
There was likely no one more familiar with 'Absolute Peak' than her.
"I play in my spare time."
Sheng Xu grinned. "What a coincidence, I play too. How about we add each other as friends and team up sometime?"
Shi Qian simply smiled, offering no response.
Her silence was a clear rejection.
Sheng Xu, taken aback by another blow, looked at her in astonishment. "Do you even know who I am? You'll regret turning me down!"
He was one of the elite players at the 'Absolute Peak'. Countless people pleaded to team up with him, hoping he'd carry them to victory.
Yet, this woman turned him down!
Ultimately, Shi Qian didn't add Sheng Xu as a friend.
She just wasn't in the mood.
Onlookers witnessed the whole scene.
Envy, jealousy, and curiosity filled their gazes as they watched the pair.
Sheng Xu made a special trip to the computer science department to speak with Shi Qian, and the news of her rejecting his friend request set the school forums ablaze.
Some accused Shi Qian of being ungrateful, while others commended her for knowing her place and recognizing her own worth.
Wen Yiran openly claimed on the forum that Shi Qian was just playing hard to get, employing tactics.
She warned Sheng Xu not to be fooled by such a woman.
Naturally, there were those who worried for Shi Qian. The Prince of the Sheng family was not someone to mess with.
By not giving the Prince face, Shi Qian's future seemed bleak.
Shi Muxue, who had been in high spirits, saw the forum posts at lunch and her mood quickly soured.
Regardless of Shi Qian's attitude toward Sheng Xu, the mere fact that Sheng Xu showed interest in Shi Qian was enough to irk her.
Near the square.
Sheng Xu, with a sullen expression, walked towards the parking lot with Lu Sizhe.
Nobody dared come close within a hundred meters radius.
The Prince, in a foul mood, was not someone to provoke!
Shi Muxue stood by the roadside, gazing longingly at Sheng Xu's retreating figure.
The thought of him possibly liking Shi Qian made her grip tighten involuntarily.
However, Sheng Xu's displeased look gave Shi Muxue a secret sense of satisfaction.
Being the lofty Prince, no one dared disrespect him. Shi Qian might have truly crossed Sheng Xu this time.
If so, she would be in deep trouble, possibly unable to remain in the Imperial University, let alone the Imperial City.
Shi Muxue eagerly anticipated such an outcome.
