C31 They Apologized
"Go and apologize to Ke'er, and from now on, don't go looking for trouble with her again." Shi Qianni fixed her gaze on her, emphasizing each word, "Not anywhere."
She meant that this included the Wen family.
Apologize to Wen Ke'er!
How could Wen Yiran possibly accept this? She had always looked down on Wen Ke'er, only ever bullying her.
"Apologize to Wen Ke'er? You must be dreaming; it's not going to happen!" Wen Yiran glared at Shi Qian, her voice icy, "Don't think you can threaten me with a few photos.
I'm an adult, and it's perfectly normal to do these things when you're in love. I don't care. I won't lower myself to you lowlifes!"
Shi Qianni watched her with a sneer, "Really? If you don't care, then why are you even here?"
Wen Yiran bit back, "I came to warn you! Shi Qian, you should be aware of your own limitations, so you don't end up dead without knowing how it happened!"
"I don't need you to worry about my capabilities," Shi Qianni retorted with a chill in her eyes, "Enough with the nonsense. Are you going to apologize, or should I post this material online for everyone to see your little performance? Oh, and if you think that's not thrilling enough, I can always share some videos—with sound effects."
"You!" Wen Yiran stood up abruptly, staring daggers at Shi Qian.
Shi Qian casually sipped her coffee, "I'll give you an hour to think it over. If you haven't apologized in person by then, you might want to check the internet for your... revealing photos."
Wen Yiran stood frozen, her hands clenched into fists.
"Fine, I'll apologize," she said slowly, her eyes ablaze with fury, as if she wished she could incinerate Shi Qian on the spot.
"Shi Qian, you'd better hope I never find something on you."
Shi Qian chuckled, unfazed by the threat, and continued to enjoy her coffee.
Wen Yiran stormed off.
Ten minutes later.
Shi Qian received a call from Wen Ke'er.
She reported that Wen Yiran had indeed apologized in person and wanted to know what Shi Qian had done.
Shi Qian was intently observing the surveillance feed on her phone, focused on the corridor outside the computer science department's classrooms.
Wen Yiran had indeed offered a face-to-face apology to Wen Ke'er, leaving it at that without further comment.
"Don't worry, Ke'er. I've got something on Wen Yiran. Even if we go back to the Wen family, she wouldn't dare touch you," Shi Qian reassured her.
Wen Ke'er's voice was laced with concern, "It's not myself I'm worried about. I'm part of the Wen family, so she won't harm me. But you, Qian... even though you're skilled in martial arts, you're without power or influence in the Imperial Capital. You shouldn't have gotten involved with them."
Powerless and without influence!
Shi Qian chuckled to herself, acknowledging her lack of clout.
"Rest assured, I'll be fine," she said, offering words of comfort to Wen Ke'er before ending the call.
Wen Yiran, seething with frustration and unable to vent, stood in the plaza, trying to calm down.
She then pulled out her phone and dialed Shi Muxue, who was in the middle of a class and didn't pick up. Wen Yiran called once more.
Shi Muxue, slightly irked yet answering the call, said, "Hello?"
Taking a deep breath, Wen Yiran proposed, "Muxue, let's go out. There's a nice new club on Guanghua Road. It's my treat."
"Yiran, I've still got classes," Muxue replied.
"Come on, you're a stellar student. Skipping one class won't hurt. Let's go," Wen Yiran coaxed.
"I'd rather not. You go ahead," Muxue responded, her voice soft but her resolve clear.
Realizing she wouldn't be able to convince her, Wen Yiran gave in, "Fine, we'll plan for another time."
After hanging up, Wen Yiran quickly reached out to a few of her usual fun-loving friends and set out.
