C44 Could It be Any More Ruthless?
Shi Qian gazed once more at the two snow-white behemoths and suggested, "Can't you just eat grass?"
The two Demonic Beasts gave her a look that screamed utter despair.
Without meat, what's the point of living?
Seeing their expressions, Shi Qian couldn't help but laugh again.
These creatures were truly a special breed, able to understand human speech.
Noticing Shi Qian's joy, Shaang Sizhan chose not to interrupt her merriment.
Shi Qian then pondered, "But, are they just going to be living in the bamboo forest? Won't that make it off-limits from now on? These two seem pretty aggressive."
Yan Yi quickly reassured her, "Miss Qian, they're just not accustomed to the Monarch Garden yet and can't distinguish friends from foes. A few days of training should sort that out."
"Oh, I see. Well, that's reassuring," Shi Qian replied with understanding.
Shaang Sizhan added, "If you train them over the next few days, they'll recognize you as their master."
"Right," Shi Qian nodded. "I have a feeling they already recognize me as their master and wouldn't dare to cross me."
After a brief pause, she turned to Shaang Sizhan with a smile, "You've given them quite a fright, Master Zhan."
Shaang Sizhan returned the smile and asked, "Would you like to stay and play with them, or should we head back?"
Shi Qian considered for a moment, "I'd like to spend some time with them."
"Alright then."
With that, Shi Qian stepped away from Shaang Sizhan's embrace and approached the two Demonic Beasts.
The massive creatures lay still, not daring to move.
Standing before them, Shi Qian's delicate frame was in stark contrast.
She gently bent down and stroked their fluffy heads, to which they responded with utmost docility.
"They're quite majestic," Shi Qian remarked with a smile. "By the way, do they have names?"
Shaang Sizhan shook his head, clueless.
Yan Yi interjected, "They don't have names, just numerical codes. Miss Qian, you could give them names."
Contemplating the two large white wolves, Shi Qian mused aloud, "They're so unique, truly reminiscent of Demonic Beasts. How about calling one 'Demon' and the other 'Beast'?"
Yan Yi was at a loss for words.
"Master Zhan, can't you speak with a clear conscience?!"
Shi Qian chuckled, "If Master Zhan thinks it sounds good, then it must be."
She turned again to address the two Demonic Beasts, "From now on, your name is Demon, and yours is Beast."
The two snow wolves looked almost identical, with Demon being the larger and Beast slightly smaller.
Shi Qian played with Demon and Beast, enjoying herself.
Shaang Sizhan watched on, a charming curve forming on his lips as he saw her joyful smile.
Yan Yi, hearing Shi Qian call the two formidable creatures such casual names, desperately wanted to cover his ears.
But with the tyrant beside him, he had no choice but to bear it.
After a while, Shi Qian stopped playing and approached Shaang Sizhan.
"Done playing?" Shaang Sizhan inquired.
"For today, yes. There will be plenty of time later," she replied with a smile. "I just had a burst of inspiration. I'm going to include Demon and Beast in the absolutely revolutionary twelfth-level map. I'm heading back to the study to make some changes."
Shaang Sizhan stepped closer, his gaze intensifying. "So, that's why you slept in the study last night!"
Shi Qian felt uneasy.
Master Zhan's mood could turn on a dime.
She swallowed hard and quickly added, "It was just this once."
Shaang Sizhan's dark eyes bore into her as he spoke with grave sincerity, "If it happens again, I'll shut down the game company."
Shi Qian was taken aback.
Could he get any more severe?
She had no doubt that the demonic big boss would follow through. After all, the JE Group had plenty of lucrative ventures, and he wouldn't bat an eye over closing a single game company.
