Lu Sizhe gave Shi Qian a glance, recognizing her as the new campus beauty. He intended to greet her politely.
But noticing her focused dedication to her meal and her apparent disinterest in conversation, he refrained from speaking.
Yet, this scene drew envious stares from many.

Shi Muxue sat with her friends, watching Shi Qian's presumptuous behavior with a sneer of contempt.
Her gaze towards Sheng Xu, however, was filled with longing.
A girl beside Shi Muxue scoffed, "Look at that fox spirit showing her true colors so soon. A mere country girl trying to ensnare Young Master Sheng and Young Master Lu. She's clueless about her place in the world!"
After finishing her meal, Shi Qian stood up with her tray.
As she walked past Shi Muxue and her group, the girl who had mocked her as a fox spirit suddenly stuck out her foot.
Shi Qian, alert to the ploy, stepped firmly onto the girl's foot.
"Ah!" A sharp and agonized shriek followed.
The girl's friend demanded indignantly, "Shi Qian, are you blind? Apologize!"
Shi Qian regarded the two girls with a detached air, "You intentionally put your foot out for me to step on, didn't you? What's the matter, not pleased with the outcome?"
The stepped-on girl glared at Shi Qian, "You're talking nonsense! Who would do that on purpose? You clearly meant to step on me!"
Shi Qianni eyed her with a slight, lazy smile, her tone nonchalant, "Exactly, I did it intentionally."
She intentionally stuck out her foot to trip her, and in response, she deliberately stepped on her. With four years of martial arts training, it was quite courteous of her not to break her foot.
"You... Ah!" The girl was fuming with anger and wanted to stand up to teach Shi Qian a lesson, but as soon as she put pressure on her leg, a sharp pain shot through her.
Shi Qian walked away, leaving behind an air of indifference for the onlookers.
Sheng Xu and Lu Sizhe, standing not too far off, had witnessed the entire scene.
Sheng Xu looked away, a smile playing on his lips, "Interesting."
Lu Sizhe added, "The young lady certainly has spunk."
Shi Muxue turned to the girl and asked with concern, "Yiran, are you okay?"
"My foot is killing me." Wen Yiran said, looking up at Shi Qian's retreating figure, her words laced with venom, "Bitch!"
Shi Muxue watched Shi Qian's departing silhouette, surprised by her audacity.
It was somewhat unsettling to her.
But she knew Shi Qian's arrogance wouldn't last long; the real drama was about to unfold.
Soon, everyone would see Shi Qian for who she truly was. If she could make everyone despise Shi Qian in the past, she could certainly tarnish her reputation now and have her ostracized by all.
Shi Qian made her way to the library and settled into a quiet corner.
Her phone suddenly chimed, and she pulled it out to see a WeChat group message.
The group admin, Handsome All Universe @ Muh Yuvming, messaged, "Got any free time coming up?"
Shi Qian responded, "What's up?"
Handsome All Universe wrote back, "How about joining us for this weekend's get-together? We've been gaming together for ages and haven't met in person yet."
Shi Qian glanced at the message and replied, "Not going, I'm busy."
Sheng Xu stared at his phone screen, exasperated, "Damn! Busy again!"
He quickly typed back, "Damn! You've got time for games but not to hang out? Can't you stop dawdling, man?"
