The car journeyed to Yining Hospital in Jinghai City. Qiao An was escorted by Huo Feng to treat her burns, while Huo Chengzhou headed straight to Qin Jingzhi's office on the top floor.

Upon his arrival, Qin Jingzhi adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and greeted him with a smile, "What brings you here today?"

"A cold wind," Huo Chengzhou replied as he shut the office door, walked to the window, and drew the curtains, his expression nonchalant.

Qin Jingzhi's expression turned grave at the sight, "You're injured?"

Huo Chengzhou nodded, removing his suit and shirt to reveal a well-built torso, the bandages and gauze on his left arm and abdomen now visible, stained with blood indicating the severity of his wounds.

Qin Jingzhi assisted him onto the examination bed in the adjoining room, unwrapping the gauze to inspect the damage, "A knife wound? Thankfully, it's not too severe—no organs were damaged."

Huo Chengzhou remained silent, his tightly pressed lips signaling his current displeasure.

"Is it Huo Jingzhou again?"

Huo Chengzhou scoffed, "Who else? Who else would take such a keen interest in me but my dear older brother?"

Qin Jingzhi helped him lie down, efficiently pulling the medical kit closer and flicking on the bright light to begin disinfecting and preparing to stitch the wound.

"Still forgoing anesthesia?"

"No need."

Qin Jingzhi's frown was almost imperceptible as he set to work, conversing softly to divert Huo Chengzhou's attention, "What happened this time?"

"I was dealing with some business last night when his men targeted me. They were ruthless, but luckily, I slipped into a narrow alley and went undetected."

"And your visit today..." Qin Jingzhi asked tentatively, "Is it safe?"

"Safe," Huo Chengzhou assured him curtly, "I brought someone along for a wound check. I just tagged along. Even if he suspects something, he won't give it a second thought. Ah..."

During the suturing process, Huo Chengzhou couldn't help but inhale sharply from the pain.

When Qin Jingzhi pressed for more information, Huo Chengzhou remained silent, merely urging, "Finish the suturing quickly. I suspect Huo Feng is almost done with his tasks."

"You'll need an IV to reduce the inflammation," Qin Jingzhi said seriously. "It should take at least an hour."

"Just give me pills."

"That won't do," Qin Jingzhi decisively refused. "Here's what we'll do: I'll go meet the other half on your marriage certificate. You stay here and get the IV. After an hour, you're free to go."
