C8 A glowing light

Chapter eight

Logan’s POV

I had forgotten something which was that I hadn’t fed myself and I was too hungry. And because of this, my wolf took charge and before I could do anything, it ripped out of my body and growled. It jumped from the roof and followed after the jeep which had Leo in it, I couldn’t understand what it wanted to do and tried communicating with it but it had its mind on its purpose paying me no attention whatsoever.

The jeep drove on in speed as we followed, cars started crushing behind us but it went ahead faze less. We got closer to the jeep and it jumped into the back seat and just like that, it left my body in the car, I held my jacket and covered my head with it not wanting to reveal my identity. The woman hurriedly stepped on her breaks and took Leo in her arms then pulled out her gun at me. I wasn’t ready for any chit chat so I jumped off the car but because I landed on my limping leg, I ended up trampling to the ground. And a gunshot followed in seconds hurting my arm which I used to hold the car for assistance. Then I heard him call out to me,

“Ade, are you alright?”

I got up struggling and just like that, the jeep drove away from my sight.

I stood there as the cars drove past me in the middle of nowhere, I was hungry and devastated, I didn’t know what was happening in those few nights after the full moon and why I had to suffer in the hands of two women because of my wolf.

‘Maybe it’s made its mind to go after any woman because it hasn’t found its mate yet. ’ I thought and shook my head silently.

I tried to change into my wolf once again so I could get home faster but as much as I tried, it didn’t even blink its eyes. So it was left with me to limp in pain to the house, I held my hand in pain from the gunshot as I moved on the highway like a wounded dog.

I walked by the roadside and suddenly my phone started got an alert and I had been hired at the NadMartin group of companies as a driver. ‘Martin as Martinez? It couldn’t have to be a coincidence right? I just met a kid named Martinez and I got hired at this named company? ’ I thought confusedly. But to think that it was the first company I had applied to but never got any replies from but two months in another company and after I had been sucked from the previous work that they had sent me this message. I saw it as the white light in the darkness that was surrounding me in just two days. So I hurriedly accepted the message, but unknowingly to me, I ended up in the middle of the road as I was concentrating on the message and just like that pah!!!!

I landed on the far end of the road with people rushing out of their vehicles to come and see the victim of the accident. So I had to lie down there not using any healing powers for my body and laid there in pain. Then an elderly man stepped out of the car and looked at my face, then I heard him urge his driver to get out quickly to pick me up. The driver came to me to pick me up but couldn’t until the elderly man helped him carry me into their car.

The man held my hand and surprisingly a glowing light came out of his hands as he held me, just at that I knew I wasn’t with an ordinary man. My eyes popped open and the man looked at me shocked, then he whispered,

“You can’t you open your eyes I could feel all your organs disorganized and your blood flowing elsewhere. You should be dead if I am right, why are you alive or you must be not ordinary. ”

“No I am not normal. ” I said through gritted teeth with my wolf leaking at the tip of me.

I looked on expressionless even when I tried to contain my wolf. But it wasn’t backing down, I jumped out of his laps and just like that we stood in front of him with my wolf. My wolf bowed in front of him and it let him put his hands in our fur. Surprise was too little as an expression for me, my wolf is disgusted at a little touch even from my parents.

So who was this man that it was so I attached to? I couldn’t bring myself to understand. And he only had a smile on his face the whole time. We laid in his arms till we reached where he had brought us. I was weak and no matter how I tried I couldn’t change back to my human form until the man told us to come out of the car. Then instead of my paws coming out, my hands did and before I knew it I was back in my form.

The man looked on the least surprised and a smile on his face. He called his driver to come and help me up but surprisingly my hip pain increased. And I fell again even with the help of the driver. The man shook his head silently and said,

“Don’t worry, you will be fine in no time. After you go….well we will leave that for later. ”
