C17 You Fell in Love with Her

Liang Han didn't notice that Gu Qisheng's face had darkened, his eyes clouded with shadows. Her words were met with his silence, leading her to mistakenly believe he agreed with her.

Maybe it was the remnants of yesterday's drinks clouding her judgment, but Liang Han felt her usual carefree attitude had been washed away. As she spoke again, a hint of jealousy crept in.

"I know you like Anqi. She's a big star and suits you well. I wish you both the best. If you ever want to get married, I'm ready to divorce anytime."

Gu Qisheng's already cold expression turned icy. He couldn't believe Liang Han was so indifferent to the rumors about him and Anqi, even going so far as to bless them. He clearly remembered her drunkenly confessing how much she disliked him, claiming her heart belonged to her "dream guy." Drunk words are sober thoughts, they say. Was he really so insignificant in her eyes?

With a loud bang, Liang Han flinched as Gu Qisheng stormed out, leaving a half-finished bowl of hangover soup swaying on the table. Watching him leave, Liang Han felt an inexplicable emptiness. She thought saying those words would bring relief, but instead, her heart felt even heavier.

She let out a long sigh, pulling the blanket over her head. The familiar scent made her feel even worse, almost suffocating. Quickly, she threw off the covers and escaped from the room.

As Liang Han stepped into the hallway, she was greeted by the ever-smiling Steward Liu. He warmly inquired, “Ma'am, are you feeling better? Last night, the young master stayed up all night taking care of you. He personally attended to you through everything.”

Liang Han's eyes flickered with surprise. She nodded perfunctorily and quietly returned to her room, knowing it was going to be a restless day.

In the bustling bar, a tall figure caught the attention of many single women the moment he appeared.

“Qisheng, if you're going to drink, could you at least pick a different place?” Mo Chen teased, addressing Gu Qisheng, who sat beside him, brooding over his drink. Mo Chen's arrival seemed to steal all the attention, leaving the women only with eyes for Gu Qisheng.

Mo Chen was the only one who dared to speak so freely with Gu Qisheng.

Gu Qisheng seemed oblivious to his friend's words, downing his glass of red wine in one gulp. Mo Chen frowned, studying him closely.

"Hey, Qisheng, are you falling for Liang Han?"

Qisheng shot a cold glance at Mo Chen and replied curtly, "She's not worth it."

Mo Chen, clearly enjoying the drama, teased, "Oh, come on! Your tone changes whenever you mention her. You two are just one step away from breaking the ice. Maybe you should be a bit more proactive instead of always wearing that poker face. You need to learn to..."

"Shut up!" Qisheng snapped, grabbing another bottle of beer. Every time he closed his eyes, he heard Liang Han's words from the previous night, comparing him unfavorably to another man.

"Look, speak of the devil, and she appears. You know, girls need a little sweet talk. Miss this chance, and you might not get another. Are you really going to let her go to that senior of hers?" Mo Chen handed him the phone from the table.

Qisheng glanced at the lit-up screen, his heart skipping a beat at the sight of the caller ID. Liang Han rarely called him, and this time, it couldn't be good news.
