C4 Her Tone Was a Bit Sour

Liang Han stood just at the height of Gu Qisheng's chest, feeling the warmth of his presence in front of her. She reminded herself to stay calm and cleared her throat. "Director Gu, weren't you supposed to be on a date with your girlfriend? Running off like this doesn't seem right."

Gu Qisheng chuckled softly, gently lifting her chin with his hand. "Why do I detect a hint of jealousy in your voice?"

His teasing tone made Liang Han's heart skip a beat, and she silently cursed him for being such a charmer. No matter how much she tried, she could never match his level of flirtation.

She cleared her throat again, trying to maintain a composed expression. "You must be mistaken, Director Gu. I know my place, and I have no reason to be jealous."

"Why not?" Gu Qisheng leaned in slightly, his warm breath brushing her ear. "If you want, I can give you that reason anytime."

His close proximity and playful words made her heart race even more. Unable to keep up the act, she pushed him away with a hand on his chest, her face slightly flushed. "Gu Qisheng! I'm not like those other women out there, so stop using that flirty tone with me all the time!"

Her chest heaved with intensity. Though she tried not to show how much Gu Qisheng's presence affected her, she couldn't help it. She gritted her teeth and glared at him.

Gu Qisheng chuckled softly. After Liang Han pushed him away, he didn't get angry. Instead, he stepped forward again, placing one hand on the wardrobe behind her. With a casual tug at his tie, he tilted his head and looked at her. "You spent a week waiting tables just to see me, and now that you have, is this really the attitude you want to take?"

"I wanted to see you because you ruined all my job opportunities!" Liang Han glared at him, her voice cold. "Don't think I can't find out just because you had someone else do it. If you don't want people to know, don't do it in the first place!"

"Yes, I did it." Gu Qisheng looked down at Liang Han, who was trying to reason with him. He didn't even bother to defend himself, just nodded openly. "I blocked all your work opportunities. I wasn't trying to hide it. So what?"

"You—" Liang Han started to speak, but Gu Qisheng suddenly moved forward, pressing her against the wardrobe again. His voice was low and rough, each word carrying a warning. "Do you remember what I said when you left my family's home two months ago?"

Of course, she remembered. If it weren't for those words, she wouldn't have lowered herself from being a designer to working as a model.

He stood at the entrance of the villa, his tone casual yet laced with a hint of mockery: "Leaving the Gu family today is easy, but coming back will require a favor from me."

What did Liang Han say back then?

Oh right, she didn't say anything. She just responded with a heavy, frustrated sigh.

Seeing her face turn slightly pale, Gu Qisheng knew she remembered. He chuckled softly and asked, "So, are you ready to ask me for that favor?"

"Gu Qisheng, you jerk—mmph—"

Before Liang Han could finish her sentence, Gu Qisheng suddenly kissed her, pinning her wrists above her head. The fierce intensity of his actions seemed as if he wanted to pull her into his embrace entirely. His next words carried a chilling edge: "What did you just call me, brother-in-law? Hmm?"

"...I was wrong..."

"What do you call me?"

Gu Qisheng's tone grew even darker.

"...Husband."
