C6 Qi Training First Layer

Chu Xing didn't have the luxury of time to worry about much else. He simply stacked his books in front of him, laid his head down on the desk, and fell into a deep sleep. When the homeroom teacher approached with questions, Chu Xing's responses were mumbled and unclear. Fortunately, the teacher was aware of Chu Xing's circumstances and assumed he had taken up a job outside of school.

Once school was out, Chu Xing was reenergized. He quickly tidied up in his dormitory before dashing off to the park just outside the school grounds.

He resided in a six-person dorm, though it was only occupied by four, including Wang Guohua, who was there at the time. Wang was known for his aloofness, but Chu Xing managed a quick greeting before heading out.

Chu Xing didn't share classes with his dorm mates, so their interactions were limited to brief exchanges, and they weren't particularly close. He needed privacy for his cultivation practice tonight, which required secrecy.

Slipping past the intimate gatherings of couples, Chu Xing found his way to a secluded area of the park. "What should I focus on for my cultivation?" he pondered. "The teacher mentioned I have a natural talent for psychic power, but I don't have a specific technique for cultivating it." With careful thought, he practiced controlling a small stone, making it hover and fly at his command—a skill he had covertly honed earlier at school.

After some time, Chu Xing settled on cultivating the Profound Heaven and Earth Technique, which seemed tailor-made for him. Despite the technique being incomplete, its quality and level were superior. What mattered most was that it suited him, and the distant goal of reaching the Gold Immortal level was a concern for another day.

From Elder Hsu's ring, Chu Xing retrieved a white jade slip inscribed with the Profound Heaven and Earth Technique. Aside from the methods and secret arts Elder Hsu had imparted to him through spiritual transmission, this jade slip was the only physical record he possessed—the rest were in book form.

Simply by placing the jade slip against his forehead, Chu Xing could access the recorded techniques—a remarkably convenient method. The script within was akin to traditional Chinese characters, albeit evolved in a different direction, yet still comprehensible.

The Profound Heaven and Earth Technique described cultivation as the art of refining the body and soul, enabling one to harness the universe's energy and comprehend its laws, thus achieving harmony and an enduring existence with the cosmos.

The Profound Heaven and Earth Technique speaks of aligning one's cultivation with the natural order, fostering one's own microcosm within and ultimately transforming it into a personal universe.

It meticulously outlines the journey from the Qi Training Stage to the Foundation Stage as essential for laying a solid groundwork. Upon reaching the Golden Core Stage, a cultivator can start refining their Golden Core into a miniature heaven and earth, progressing to cultivate it into a planet, and ultimately, a universe.

Interestingly, the text also reveals that rare cosmic treasures can substitute the Golden Core in the cultivation of one's universe.

"It's truly a technique of Heaven Grade High Rank! The very idea of cultivating a universe inside oneself is astounding. No wonder Elder Hsu cherishes it so," Chu Xing marveled, holding in high esteem the creator of this profound method.

While the Profound Heaven and Earth Technique is accessible to cultivators of all attributes, it underscores that it's not a fit for everyone.

Firstly, immense determination is required. The technique, while advocating for cultivation in harmony with the natural order, also involves defying it. Advancing the Golden Core to the level of a universe is fraught with challenges and is nearly insurmountable.

Secondly, it favors those with exceptional spiritual force talent. The evolution of a universe hinges on the support of spiritual force; insufficient strength leads to stagnation or, worse, mental breakdown due to excessive strain.

Lastly, those with profound karmic fortune are preferred. Although not explicitly detailed, the technique's creator clearly understood the advantages of such extraordinary luck. Chu Xing, with his own profound experiences, could attest to this.

Having absorbed the teachings, Chu Xing commenced his cultivation. The Qi Training Stage involves drawing spiritual energy from the air into the Dantian to form a vortex, with each layer representing a progressive level of Qi Training.

The initial step is to perceive the presence of Spiritual Qi in the air. Those gifted with a strong spiritual force can extend their senses into the surrounding atmosphere in search of Spiritual Qi, and those with exceptional talent can detect it with ease.

The unique properties of Spiritual Force made it quite easy for those gifted in Spiritual Strength to practice cultivation.

At first, Chu Xing's thoughts were scattered, and he struggled to concentrate. But as he relaxed, his Spiritual Force diffused into the surrounding air, and he eventually detected tiny white dots drifting about.

Next, Chu Xing channeled the Spiritual Qi into his Dantian using his Spiritual Force, where it began to swirl.

Time passed, and as the Spiritual Qi in his Dantian grew in volume, it spun faster, eventually forming a cyclone.

Once the cyclone stabilized, it created a spectacle of Spiritual Qi enveloping a slowly rotating vortex.

"I've reached the Qi Training First Layer and have officially begun my journey in cultivation," Chu Xing murmured, eyes opening to a look of excitement.

He thought of Elder Hsu, his mentor in cultivation. "If only Elder Hsu could see this," Chu Xing mused, lost in nostalgia.

Chu Xing closed his eyes once more and resumed his practice of the Profound Heaven and Earth Technique. The cyclone accelerated, drawing in Spiritual Qi from outside at a rapid pace.

Continued cultivation would allow him to add layers to the cyclone, enhancing his cultivation level.

"Report!" By the time Chu Xing reached school, the second period was already underway.

What felt like a moment's cultivation the previous night had, in fact, spanned the entire evening, and he had only just made it to school.

The second period was math, and the teacher, known for leniency towards diligent students, allowed Chu Xing to enter without inquiring about his tardiness.

"Where have you been?" Luo Xiaoyun inquired.

"I overslept," Chu Xing fibbed.

"That's a first!"

Today saw the return of two classmates, while three others had taken leave. Chu Xing was unaware of their reasons for absence, but both the students and teacher seemed distracted.

Chu Xing glanced at the beauty seated in front, thinking, "She doesn't know I'm watching, so why not?"

The classmates were abuzz with the latest gossip.

"Have you heard? Animals at the zoo have attacked people," Li Fei whispered to him from the next desk.

Li Fei's face was dotted with spots, and she was known for her carefree demeanor.

"Someone got bitten? How bad is it?" Chu Xing inquired.

"It's pretty bad! They nearly died, and the zoo's been shut down."

"It's not just the zoo. In my neighborhood, a Beagle suddenly killed a cat. When the cat's owner tried to retaliate, the dog bit off his hand and ran off," Luo Xiaoyun said, tilting his head.

"Yikes, the dogs around my place are aggressive too. I'll need to steer clear of them from now on. Cats are starting to scratch people as well," Li Fei remarked, still shaken.

"It seems animals are evolving, just like humans are developing superpowers!"

"Are we headed for a showdown with the animal kingdom?"

"Everyone, check out the video online!" one of the students exclaimed.

Chu Xing pulled up the video to see a cow breaking free from its rope and charging into the streets, causing chaos and injuring many bystanders.

In the midst of the turmoil, a muscular man in his thirties seized the opportunity to tackle the cow to the ground. But the real action was just beginning.

The cow, after being thrown, managed to kick the man away and charged at him as he got up. The man, a martial artist, dodged and grappled the cow's front legs, delivering punch after punch to its underbelly until the cow collapsed.

Just when the strong man thought he had the upper hand, the cow bit into his thigh, and to everyone's astonishment, breathed out a jet of fire. In pain, the man delivered a crushing blow to the cow's head. The video cut off at that climactic moment.

Clearly, the man had a special talent, and his martial arts training was evident. The cow, possessing a fiery talent and formidable strength, was no ordinary beast.

As the Earth's spiritual energy began to revive, all of creation was undergoing a transformation. The universe was indeed becoming a more thrilling place, Chu Xing mused.

"Haha, I'm definitely going to be as powerful as Gao Wu one day," Wang Feiqiang boasted loudly. Online sleuths had already dug up the name of the strong man in the video: Gao Wu.

"Yeah, maybe you and Gao Wu share the same metal-type ability," chimed in some of the students.

"Xiaoran, wouldn't you agree?" Wang Feiqiang, buoyed by praise, made a beeline for Lee Xiaoran.

"Ah, yes," Lee Xiaoran responded automatically, caught off guard by Wang Feiqiang's sudden question.

"Together! Together!" The chant began to rise among the students.

"Xiaoran, will you be my girlfriend?" Wang Feiqiang declared, standing before Lee Xiaoran.

"No, no, I'm not interested in dating," Lee Xiaoran blurted out, clearly taken aback by his proposition.

"Don't you like me?" Wang Feiqiang persisted, holding onto Lee Xiaoran's hand.

"Let go of me!" Lee Xiaoran implored, her voice tinged with urgency.

At that point, some of the students started to feel uncomfortable, and the raucous cheering subsided.
