C12 Chapter 11: Tears of Pain

Sofia's Point Of View :

"Hey!" Nicole greeted me when I arrived at the Cafe.

"Hi," I shyly greeted her back. Even though she is in disguise now, she is still very beautiful.

We are here today in an expensive café, she invited me for a coffee because she said that she wanted to get to know me better.

She was kind and sweet so I went with her. Actually, she gave me a bag that was one of the ones she endorsed.

"How are you and Felix?" She asked.

"We're fine," I don't know but I'm not feeling better, it seems that there's something wrong.

"Really? Are you really together with Felix?" Based on her tone, it was as if she's suspecting me.

"Yes why?" I answered her directly.

"Nothing, I just asked. How many years you two together?" She asked again.

"Five months," I sparingly replied. It's true, it's been five months since I met them.

"Really, were you together on Friday?" I nodded in response. What is this? It's like she's really catching me.

"Wow. As far as I know, Felix is with me at the bar during that time, except for my boyfriend—you're lying, aren't you? Besides, Felix is

your boyfriend right? Why is my boyfriend the one you kissed and hugged then?"

I was surprised by what she said and the change in the tone of her voice. Did she see what Alexus did in the past? God! Is this what I'm saying that I shouldn't have been kissed him back last Friday.

"Nicole," I tried to get her attention to listen to me, so that I can explain.

"Yes, why?"

"I'm leaving." I quickly stood up to go out but I was stunned after people looked at me inside the cafè because of what she said.

"How does it feel to be the paid wife of my boyfriend?"

"Does he taste good?"

"Is he good in bed?"

"Nicole enough!" I tried to stopped her but she's too angry to listen.

"Then, sit down! If you don't want to be more embarrassed!" She was threatening me. I could do nothing but to sit down again and face her.

"You're a graduate BSBA student, take note you graduated at the famous University, then you'll ended up being paid? Isn't it too cheap?"

How did she find out all about me? I'm getting smaller now with what she's saying. All the words coming out from her mouth left a scar on every part of my body. Is this my karma?

"Stop crying in front of me, like are you seriously hurt by what I am saying? For your information, you don't have the right to feel hurt. Why? Becuase in the first place, you already know it's wrong, but you still did it! You already know that Alexus has a girlfriend, but you still pushed to be in this situation!"

She shouted at me. I can't do nothing but to accept her words—her hurtful words to be exact. Besides, she's right.

"Nicole, I have my reason why I agreed. Besides, your boyfriend is the one who comes after me, he follows me everywhere because he really needs my help to give him a baby." I explained. But instead of believing me she just answered me with a laugh.

"You, forced by my boyfriend? If you have a brain, you still won't shoot, that's my point! And wait, you have your reason? Of course! Are you still acting for that money?" She laughed again. She seems too happy doing this to me, she's happy seeing me embarrassed in front of many people.

"Nicole, that's enough please, let's just talk somewhere else, okay?"

"Why, are you ashamed to know that my boyfriend paid you? Well, let me do this..." She suddenly stood up and grabbed the attention of everyone inside the cafè.

"LISTEN EVERYBODY! I'D LIKE TO INTRODUCE TO YOU THE CHEAP WIFE OF MY BOYFRIEND! YES, SHE'S THE FAKE WIFE OF MY BOYFRIEND WHO PAID A HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY JUST TO GET PREGNANT! ISN'T IT FUNNY TO HEAR? YEAH, VERY FUNNY TO HEAR!"

I could feel the judgmental stares of everyone here today in the cafè and I could do nothing but bow while crying.

"And where are you going?" I was supposed to leave but she quickly grabbed my arm causing me to force myself to face her.

She gave me a crisp slap. I was caught in the cheek she slapped that I'm sure I'm blushing now because of the force of her slap.

"Does it hurt? Well, let me tell you this, that it's nothing with the pain and damaged that you've all had caused to me!"

I didn't do anything, I just let her do what she wanted, after all, everything was right. If I hadn't agreed to Alexus, it wouldn't happened. I deserved all of this!

When she stopped speaking I quickly left the cafè but I was surprised because she still followed me. I don’t care who saw and heard everything. My only wish for now, is that I hope that mom wouldn't know about this. I don't want her to feel hurt because of what I did.

"Sofia wait up!"

"What? Aren't you still satisfied with humiliating me? With a slap? What else do you want to do? To kill me? Go on!"

"Wow! I like your bravery! Your courage!" She added.

"You know, if you have nothing right to say I'm leaving." I told her.

"Fine! But remember this, WE'RE. NOT. YET. DONE!" After what Nicole did earlier I completely lost myself. I feel like crazy now walking in the rain. If you're really lucky, the rain agrees with me now. The amount of stares that I encounter, maybe they think I’m crazy because I’m letting myself get wet in the rain.

"Sofia! What do you think you're doing?" Alexus' furious face flashed at me. He was carrying an umbrella that he insisted on advising me.

"Call me crzay," I said, then I just passed him.

"Sofia!" I turned to him after he grabbed my left arm.

"What's wrong with you?" Again, he's acting like a concerned husband to her wife.

'Why are you like this Alexus? Can't you see? I'm hurting because of you!'

"Stop acting like a concerned husband Alexus! Please, leave me alone." I started to push him away from me but he was too heavy, he didn't even move from where he was standing. I suddenly remembered how thin I was.

"Why are you crying?" He seriously asked.

"You don't care! Just leave me alone." I shouted at him and then tries to push him again.

"Sofia what's wrong?"

"Stop asking, okay? Why can't you see that I don't like you anymore? I'm already hurting Alexus! I can't do it anymore! I give up!"

"I-I'm sorry..." He begged.

"Please let me go Alexus, you don't know me anymore." I almost whispered a plea to him.

"I can't and I don't want." He answered and it weakened me.

"Why? Why are you so naughty? You're so unfair Alexus!" I cried out loud while patting his chest.

"I'm sorry, let's go home. Aunt is looking for you, I'll take you home," he said while hugging me tight.

"I don't want to. I can handle myself, leave me alone Alexus." I was about to leave but Alexus pulled me again, and from my back he's hugging me. Again, my tears started falling so fast. Why is he like this?

"Sofia, please? Let's go home."

"No! Please? From now on, Nicole will be the only one you will focus on. She's your girlfriend and she's the one you love. So, she's the one that you'll take your time to! Don't worry about me, I can handle myself."

After what I told him he suddenly take back his arms from hugging me.

"Why are you suddenly like this?"

Is his question serious? It was as if he was too numb to not feel that I was hurting.

"Because—" I was about to told him what I really felt for him but,

"Babe!" Nicole came in the right time and place.

"Sofia!" Alexus and I looked at the two people who had just arrived. It's Nicole and Felix.

"Babe, let's go home." She said softly to Alexus. Alexus quickly approached Nicole and they went to her car together.

"Sofia are you okay?" Felix asked me.

"I'm okay Felix."

"No, you're not. Come on, I'll take you." He said.

"No, I might even bother you."

"If you don't want to and if you want to, I'll take you home." Because he insisted, so I could do nothing but agree to him.

"What happened?" I just shrugged my shoulders, signaling that I wasn't in the mood to tell the story.

"Okay, I understand." Felix said and continued driving.

When we got home, Felix immediately said goodbye. The rain was also heavy so it would be difficult for him to spend the night too much.

"Sofia, what happened to you? Why are you so wet?Why aren't you with your husband—" Mom asked multiple questions.

"Mom, you can ask me tomorrow, I'm going to rest now." I kissed mom on her cheeks and I went straight upstairs.

"Okay, tomorrow answer all my questions."

When I entered my room, I again remembered the scene with Nicole, and Alexus showing concern for me.
