C6 Chapter 5: I'll Do It

Sofia's Point of View :

Finally I am very happy because somehow I also have a job. It's for my mom and I's daily needs, and I am so happy that finally, I got my first job!

I have been working at sir Dylan's bar for three weeks and I can say that their treatment of me is very okay. It's even fun because my boss is so nice.

But when Alexus hangs out at the bar with his two other friends, my mood disappears immediately. How come he still don't stop?

I don't know what he saw in me by teasing me for almost a month now. Why he just can't stop from bothering me?

"Take care Sofia," my boss said while preparing himself to go home.

"Thank you sir,"

"You can ride with me, it's getting late." He offered.

"Ah, no need sir, I'm fine. All right, you go ahead." I refused.

"You, sure?"

"Yes,"

After sir Dylan left, I waited again for what I could ride. But it looks like there's no taxi passing here anymore. I looked at my hand watch, which is why it was past eight o'clock in the evening.

"I'll drive you home baby," I rolled my eyes after seeing Alexus again. Ugh! Why this crazy man so hard headed?

"No thanks, go home because I will never go with you!" I tried my best to drove him away from me but;

"Ah, you don't want to?"

"Are you deaf? Want me to repeat—ah! Alexus, take me down!" I stopped him after he carry me and put into his shoulder.

"When I say I'll drive you home, I'll drive you." He said seriously when he landed me in his car.

My world seems to have stopped again because of what he did. I don't know, how many times has this happened to me that every time he does something I didn't expect my heartbeat will speed up for a while.

Then he becomes even more handsome in my eyes. Sh * t! Isn't he already enchanting me? Wahh! I do not want this feeling! This is not possible. I have to fight this fascination with him. This is wrong, it is very wrong.

"Hey!"

"Oh baby!"

"You, you pretend to be annoyed with me and now you're also calling me baby?" he teased me.

"Will you stop or will you stop?" I rolled my eyes to him. Damn him! I feel like my face is red now. Why is I am so nervous?

As soon as Alexus stopped his car in front of our house, I quickly got out of the car.

"Mom? Mom, what's wrong?" I asked mommy anxiously. Because our belongings were scattered at home after mommy was just sitting in a corner while crying. I quickly approached her and hugged her tightly.

"B-baby, our house," Mom said as she started shivering and crying.

"W-why? What about the house?" I almost choked on the question. I just saw mommy like this. Never in my life I have seen her cry.

"We have to pay two million so that they don't get this house. This is all I have left in my grandparents, I don't want it to be gotten away from us."

Damn! Why did I forget the two million that the bank charges us? I just cried because I was carried away by mommy's crying.

"Mom? Mom! Please help!"

"Sofia, —Tita!" Alexus quickly supported me because Mommy was completely unconscious.

"We'll take her to the hospital." He said, I just nod my head because in so much fear right now. I'm afraid to what might happens to my mom.

Fortunately, Alexus has not left yet, otherwise I do not know what to do. Why all of this happening now?

We have been waiting here for more than an hour outside the ER where Mommy was rushed, but until now no doctor has come out from inside to explain to me how mommy is doing and why she is fainting.

"Sshh, stop crying. Everything will be alright." Alexus had not left my side before even though I had sent him home earlier because I was sure he was looking by his parents. It's half past nine and I'm sure his parents are also worried about him.

"Who's the family of the patient?" I immediately stood up and faced the doctor.

"I am the daughter,"

"Your mom is in a crirical condition right now—" Suddenly my chest tightened at what the doctor said. How did mommy become critical, she just fainted, right? What is he saying?

"Q-what? Why? What's going on?" I asked one question after another while my tears continued to flow.

"Your mom's heart is weak, she needs an operation as soon as possible."

"Doc! Tell me you're just kidding, right? Please? That's not true, mommy is very okay. She's not in pain, she has never been taken to the hospital, because she is strong! Just now, just now she was brought here and then said—"

"Sofia, calm down okay?"

"How can I calm down? What he is saying is wrong!"

"Ms. Hidalgo, your mommy has been sick for a long time. I am her personal doctor," Gone. My knees are constantly softening. Has mommy been sick for a long time? Just wait, why I didn't know? I'm the only one in her family and then I don't know? What kind of life is this?

"I'm serious, did you hear that? 50 million pesos for my Mommy's operation. I'm desperate Alexus, so even if it's against my will I will do it." After Alexus and I talked, he immediately went home to get money for Mommy's operation. As for me, here and there have been incessant crying. Mommy is still unconscious so I still can't enter her room.

I no longer have my dream of getting married with the person I love and love me. Even my soul and dignity will be lost. But what can I do? My mother's life is the reward for what I do. She is very important to me so even if my own welfare is the only replacement to save her, I will do it.
