C7 Chapter 6: Contract

Sofia's Point of View :

It's been a month since I agreed to Alexus' offer to get pregnant in exchange for money.

By the grace of God, Mommy's operation was successful.

We also paid off our two million bank debt. Alexus also resigned me as a waitress at his friend's bar. And within a month of our constant companionship, everything gradually changed.

It's hard to admit but Alexus has come close to my heart. He was the reason why Mommy had surgery and we were able to pay our debt.

Right now, I am currently in his condo for the contract thingy, I don't know why he still needs this contract even though everything is clear to me.

"Sorry for made you waiting," he smiled apologetically after he left a room. He was holding a few pieces of paper that definitely contained the said contract, and a ballpen.

"This is the content of the contract, do you want me to read it to you or you to read?"

"It's me, I can read."

"Okay," he laughed as he squeezed my nose. "Hey! You know, that's too much! I know my nose is beautiful like me, so you can stop squeezing it." I frowned in disobedience to him.

"You looks cute when you're blusing Sofia" he grins, and when he was really teasing, huh? He has a cute face. I should read the contents of the contract, I just feel like he is staring at me because I am confused.

"You read the contents, I changed my mind." I gave him back the paper I was holding and rolled my eyes because of annoyance.

Because of what I did, he, then again started laughing.

"Are you happy boy?" I asked him sarcastically.

"Yes." he answered.

"Whatever!"

"Why, aren't you?"

I thought about his question. Am I really happy? Hmm, of course. Mommy and I are still together until now, so yeah! I'm happy.

"Of course I am."

"That's good to hear,"

"Yes, start reading that contract so that I can leave."

"Okay my lady,"

He's grinning when he started reading the first content of his contract.

1. You're going on a date with me.

"Wait, why do I have to date you? That doesn't seem like a good idea."

I complained after he read the first rule. Why does this man still have dates? What are we, lovers?

"So we can get to know each other better, right? You're still a very rude girl. How can we have that baby—"

"Hey! Stop it. Can you? Fine, go ahead continue reading!" Why it seems so thrilling? How can he talk in front of me about making that baby. Doesn't he know I'm an innocent person here?

"You're blusing again," He simply said without looking at me. He really knows how to embarrass me. This crazy man!

2. You're going to meet my parents twice a week.

"Why?" I asked immediately.

"To get to know them, of course."

"Isn't that embarrassing? For sure, your parents will be mad at me because I agreed to bear your child in exchange for a big amount of money. I am a worthless mother to their grandchild," I said sadly while bowing my head.

"They don't think that way Sofia, don't hurt your feelings by over thinking."

"Fine."

3. You're living with me 'til you get pregnant and give birth.

"Like a couple?"

"Yes,"

"How come, we are not married?"

"I'll marry you, have you forgotten?"

"Are you serious? What about Nicole?"

"She won't know." Suddenly the look on his face changed after I mentioned Nicole.

"I'm sorry,"

"It's okay."

4. After you gave birth you're giving a baby to me.

Damn! Now I am hurting by the rule number 4. What if I fall in love with the child I will carry inside my womb? Can I handle this?

"I don't know if I can handle that." I complained.

"You can do it. That's a rule."

"Last but not the least, after you gave birth. Get lost and never come back again."

"It sounds so painful, huh?"

I laughed and said but in my heart I was really hurt right now. What is this fool? He is the one who came into my life. He is the one who caused the trouble, then in the end I will be the one about to leave? Am I still not supposed to go back? That was a little bit harsh.

"Agree?"

"Yes."

"Then, sign it up." He handed me the expensive ballpen so I quickly took it and signed our contract.

"Oh wait, last rule. Don't fall in love with me."

"What if I already did?" I jokingly told him. He was stunned and just stared at me. He looks so serious as he stares at me. It was as if he was studying every corner of my face.

"Kidding!"

"You're saying nonsense!" he said in annoyance. Wait, what did I say? I'm not saying anything, after all I seem to be saying? Like duh!

"You too Alexus, don't fall in love with me." I copied what he said.

"What if I already did?" I laughed at him.

"Kidding!"

"Kidding!"

We both said and he was Annoyed. Does he thought he could fool me right? Well, no!

"I'm going home." I said goodbye to him because he had no intention of moving in a corner. Someone just called him and then he never spoke again.

"All right, I'll pick you up tomorrow."

"Why?"

"Rule number 1."

"Oh, okay all right."

"Take care," He chased me before I could get out of his condo.

"Hey Sofia!"

"Oh, hi Felix, right?" He nodded with a smile.

"So, where are you heading up now?" He asked.

"I'm going home,"

"Alexus won't drive you home?" I shook in response.

"He looks in a bad mood."

"All right, I'll be ahead of you." I said goodbye to him.

"Wait, wait. Come with me." Felix stopped me.

"Where?"

"I'll bring you to my favorite place, will you go with me?" I was shocked because of what he said.

I have nothing to do, do I? That's right, nothing. So, maybe it's not bad if I go with him? That's right—this is not a bad thing at all.

"How are you and Alexus?" He broke the silence between us inside his car.

"We are fine."

"I heard that you already agreed?"

"Oh, t-that? Uhm," I was embarrassed to answer.

"Hey, don't be shy."

"Do you think so, this is right?" He was silent for a long time so I already knew what the answer was.

"I know it's wrong—"

"No, it's not like that Sofia. I'm a friend of Alexus and I know him. For now, just trust him first, okay?"

"O-okay." Felix just took me to an expensive restaurant. I really don't know why, as far as I know we just talked about Alexus and me talking about us.

He also told me that Alexus' girlfriend will return to the Philippines for their 4th year anniversary. After we ate and talked, he immediately took me home.

Now I have been lying for almost two hours but drowsiness does not visit me. I wonder if this is the right path I am taking now, and what the consequences will be in the end.

"Haist! It's so hard to think." I frowned at myself before closing my eyes again.
