C1 It Was like a Snowstorm in June

The tenth year of Xuanhua, snow fell in June.

South Control Marquis Mansion.

Ink Garden.

"Eldest Miss! Wake up! Young Master Su is here to propose! Eldest Miss..."

Wen Wan suddenly opened her eyes, feeling a wave of dizziness.

Young Master Su?

Su Xuanjing?!

Seeing everything familiar around her, Wen Wan was so overwhelmed she nearly cried.

She was reborn!

Reborn twelve years ago, on the day Su Xuanjing came to propose!!

In her previous life, she married Su Xuanjing and helped him climb to the pinnacle of power in the Great Zhou dynasty. He became a prime minister, but then conspired with the crown prince to seize the throne. With a single imperial edict, he wiped out all thirty-seven members of the South Control Marquis Mansion!

Su Xuanjing personally gouged out her eyes, imprisoned her for three months, and after torturing her, set her ablaze until nothing remained of her but ashes, leaving her to die in despair!

She was filled with hatred!!

Given a second chance at life, she was determined to rewrite her fate and that of the South Control Marquis Mansion!

Su Xuanjing, and that seemingly gentle but truly ruthless Wen Xian, who pushed the mansion to its doom!!

She would destroy them!

She would grind their bones to dust, ensuring they never found peace in the afterlife!

For the mansion, for her family, she would have her revenge!

...

In the front courtyard of the mansion.

In the hall.

Su Xuanjing stood in white attire, holding a folding fan, presenting the image of a refined and graceful gentleman.

"Wan has feelings for me, as evidenced by the poem at the Flower Tower. Xuanjing truly appreciates Wan's talent and character, and they are a perfect match. Today, I've come to formally propose, and I hope Marquis Wen will grant his blessing!"

In a past life, Wen Wan and Su Xuanjing met at the Flower Tower. What seemed like a romantic encounter between a talented scholar and a beautiful lady turned out to be just the first move in Su Xuanjing's calculated approach to her. One wrong step led to many more.

A murderous intent flickered in Wen Wan's eyes as she chuckled coldly to herself. Grant his wish? Grant him the favor of annihilating her entire family and torturing her to death?

The Old Marquis, Wen Yu, pondered for a moment before looking at Wen Wan. "Wan, Young Master Su has come to propose. If you wish to marry him, I will support your decision. If you don't, no one will force you."

"Feelings for you?" Wen Wan smiled, her lips parting slightly. "What gave Young Master Su the confidence to think I have feelings for you? That love poem wasn't written by me. You've misunderstood."

Su Xuanjing's smile froze. "Misunderstood?"

"Indeed!" Wen Wan's smile deepened. "Young Master Su, what makes you think you're worthy of me? I am a noble lady, personally titled by the Emperor. Young Master Su, you should leave."

Su Xuanjing was caught in a bind, unable to advance or retreat. After a moment, he forced a smile and spoke.

"County Princess, since you have no interest, I apologize for my presumptuousness."

Su Xuanjing, though not from a wealthy family, was still a highly sought-after figure among the elite, carrying himself with a certain dignity.

"I don't blame you for your forwardness, Young Master Su. It's just that I've been too approachable, making everyone think they can gain something from me," Wen Wan remarked, raising an eyebrow at Su Xuanjing with a smile tinged with sarcasm. "Don't you agree, Young Master Su?"

Su Xuanjing's face turned slightly red, managing a strained smile.

"Since nothing can come of this, I apologize for the disturbance and take my leave."

As Su Xuanjing turned away, the calm and smile on his face vanished instantly. He couldn't understand why Wen Wan had suddenly become so distant overnight. Was it a strategy to keep him guessing? Su Xuanjing scoffed inwardly and strode away.

After Su Xuanjing left, Wen Wan bowed and exited the front courtyard, leaving everyone in a state of surprise and confusion.
