C29 Two Su Mos!

The girl who sprinted over like a gust of wind bore an uncanny resemblance to Su Mo!

Su Mo's features nearly contorted with the desire to vanish into the earth and never reemerge.

Panting, Su Tao reached Su Mo and blurted out:

"Big sis, you won't believe it, I nearly blew our cover!"

Su Mo was on the verge of tears, frantically signaling with her eyes.

Oblivious to the gravity of the situation, Su Tao looked confused:

"Sis, what's with your eyes? Got something in them? Want me to blow it out?"

Su Mo shook her head, fighting back the tears.

It was then that Su Tao's eyes caught the opulent car parked nearby.

"Holy smokes! A Rolls-Royce Phantom?"

Her gaze shifted to the driver, and her excitement turned to ice.

"Lin Chen?!"

Half an hour later, inside the coffee shop.

Lin Chen propped his face with one hand, eyeing the two girls who were nearly mirror images of each other.

They hung their heads like scolded schoolchildren, too scared to speak or meet Lin Chen's gaze.

"Su Mo, Su Tao, a pair of twin blossoms?"

At his words, Su Mo nodded slightly, stealing a glance at Lin Chen before bowing her head even lower.

Su Tao defiantly lifted her head, locking eyes with Lin Chen:

"What if we are? It's not a crime to swap identities for a bit of fun..."

Her voice trailed off, losing steam as she spoke.

I'm sorry, sister!

I'm chickening out too!

Su Tao silently recited to herself.

Lin Chen turned to Su Tao, casually dressed, and inquired:

"The one in the classroom earlier, that was you, right?"

Su Tao nodded:

"Yes."

Su Mo looked up at Lin Chen:

"Did you figure it out?"

Lin Chen shook his head, sipping his coffee:

"I didn't suspect at the time; it just seemed very odd."

"I even wondered if Su Mo had a split personality."

Su Tao's complexion stiffened as she sipped her coffee, trying to alleviate the awkwardness.

Su Mo pressed on with her questioning:

"Why?"

Lin Chen cast a glance at Su Tao:

"Well, for starters, there's a personality clash. They're just too different."

"Then there's the fact that you never doze off in class, while she... managed to sleep through nearly two entire periods, not even waking up when class was over."

At his words, Su Mo clenched her teeth and shot a fierce look at her sister:

"Su! Tao!"

In a panic, Su Tao clasped her hands together, pleading:

"I'm sorry, sis!"

Lin Chen chuckled at the sight:

"You two are quite the entertaining duo."

Su Tao showed her little fangs to Lin Chen:

"Meanie! And you're laughing. This is all your fault!"

Su Mo gently chided her:

"Su Tao!"

With a pout, Su Tao gave Su Mo a look of pure grievance.

Buzz! Buzz!

A sister is forgotten at the sight of a handsome face!

It wasn't long before Su Tao made up an excuse to leave, and they both headed to the restroom to change back into their clothes.

In the coffee shop, only Lin Chen, Su Mo, and a handful of others remained.

Lin Chen gazed at Su Mo and was reminded of her in the Lolita outfit, commenting with a smile:

"You looked really charming in that Lolita dress, quite adorable."

Su Mo looked up at Lin Chen, startled for a moment:

"Do you really think so?"

"Mhm."

Lin Chen nodded, then added:

"Like a porcelain doll."

A blush crept onto Su Mo's cheeks, and she felt suddenly parched. She reached for her coffee and took a sip.

"I-I just think it draws too much attention," Su Mo murmured.

But Lin Chen just smiled:

"Standing out is good. People look because they find you attractive. What's wrong with a girl looking her best?"

Su Mo gazed at Lin Chen, a bit dazed, then broke into a smile, her cute dimples and sharp little canines on display.

Lin Chen was momentarily captivated.

She was like a kitten that you just wanted to pet.

As the thought crossed his mind, his hand instinctively found its way to her head.

Su Mo stiffened as if shocked, her whole body tensing up in alarm.

"Sorry, you're just too adorable. I couldn't resist."

Lin Chen offered an explanation.

Su Mo shook her head, her tongue seemingly tied in knots, unable to form a single coherent sentence as her heart threatened to leap out of her chest.

Lin Chen gave a resigned smile.

After a short while together, Lin Chen escorted Su Mo back to the women's dormitory.

Upon arriving, Su Mo beelined for her bed, burying herself under the covers.

Her roommates exchanged puzzled glances.

It took quite some time before she popped her head out for air, nearly out of breath.

Later, she grabbed her phone and scrolled to Su Tao's contact:

"Can you lend me a few of your dresses when you get a chance? Including the one you wore today, and that one from Angel Street..."

"I'll pay you with the allowance I've been saving up!"
