C4 The Senior Sister Was Shy

Ahem.

He hadn't expected that despite her slender appearance, his senior sister lacked nothing where it counted.

She truly had the face of an angel and the figure of a devil!

She was indeed goddess material.

Soong Qingwan must be the dream girl of countless lovestruck boys, right?

Lin Chen couldn't help but sigh to himself.

He had woken up early today, and after completing the new student registration process, he was famished.

"Senior, it's time for lunch. You've been such a great help to me; how about we grab a meal together? My treat?"

After all, it was only right to offer a meal to the campus beauty who had been running around with him under the blazing sun, tiring herself out.

Soong Qingwan's lips curled into a smile, her eyebrows arching playfully. "You're inviting me to lunch?"

Lin Chen nodded.

"Yes, that's right."

"Then I'd be delighted!"

Soong Qingwan accepted with a smile.

She usually wasn't keen on going out alone with men, but Lin Chen had made a good impression.

It was clear that he was different from the relentless suitors; he simply wanted to express his gratitude, so she saw no reason to decline.

"How about we exchange WeChat contacts? It'll make it easier to keep in touch."

Soong Qingwan suggested as she pulled out her phone.

"I'll send you the electronic map of the school. It'll make getting around a lot easier for you, especially since our campus is quite large."

After a moment's thought, she added:

"This one's a custom version we made—it's much more detailed than anything you'll find online!"

Lin Chen nodded:

"Great, thank you, senior. Should I scan your code?"

After adding Soong Qingwan on WeChat, Lin Chen sent his name over.

"Lin Chen? I'm Soong Qingwan."

"A beauty, graceful and refined—quite fitting for Senior Soong's demeanor."

Lin Chen offered his sincere compliment.

Though he had only just learned her name through the grapevine, it was as pleasant as her appearance.

Soong Qingwan's eyebrows lifted in surprise, seeing Lin Chen in a new light.

It was commonly believed that those who majored in Chinese literature were not fond of math, nor were they particularly passionate about literature.

However, this junior named Lin Chen quickly recognized the allusion in her name, which was quite impressive.

And unlike the typical heirs of wealth, he was mature and restrained...

With that thought, she smiled and said, "Thank you for the compliment."

Suddenly, Lin Chen leaned in close to Soong Qingwan:

"Senior, hold still."

Looking up at Lin Chen's face, so near to her own, Soong Qingwan was momentarily bewildered.

'What... what is he doing?'

...

With a deft touch, Lin Chen plucked a fallen osmanthus flower from her hair.

"Senior, there was a flower in your hair."

Huh?

"Oh? Ah, haha, thank you."

Soong Qingwan bit her lower lip, her cheeks warming with embarrassment.

What had she been thinking just now?

How could she have so completely misread the situation?

It was utterly mortifying!

Noticing Soong Qingwan's flushed ears, Lin Chen couldn't help but smile secretly.

This senior sister was truly adorable.

Perhaps Soong Qingwan's wild imagination had left her feeling a bit guilty, because she became noticeably quieter afterwards.

Once they had completed all the new student registration formalities, it was well past lunchtime, so they decided to grab a meal together.

...

Cui Yuxuan—a renowned Chinese restaurant near East Sea University.

Upon entering, Lin Chen was captivated by the ambiance.

True to its heritage, the restaurant's decor was classically elegant, and the air was laced with a subtle hint of sandalwood, soothing to the senses.

Off to one side of the dining area was a small stage, separated by a strand of bead curtains, where several women in traditional attire played their instruments.

The Jade Pavilion was indeed a highlight of East Sea City.

They chose a table with a clear view of the stage, perfect for enjoying the performance.

As they settled in, a cheongsam-clad waitress gracefully served them tea, to which Lin Chen instinctively expressed his thanks.

Soong Qingwan raised an eyebrow and smiled, but remained silent.

She hadn't expected him to exhibit such gentlemanly grace.

At that moment, Lin Chen presented Soong Qingwan with a menu.

"Senior, please go ahead and choose—I'm not sure about your dietary preferences," Lin Chen said with a smile.

Soong Qingwan responded with a charming smile, "I didn't expect you to be so thoughtful."

Once she had made her selections, Lin Chen added a few of his own choices and signaled for the attractive waitress to come over.

Before long, an array of dishes arrived, each bursting with color, aroma, and flavor. The mere scent was enough to make mouths water.

Something seemed to strike Soong Qingwan, and she turned to Lin Chen:

"By the way, Lin Chen, all the freshmen have a class meeting in the classroom tomorrow. Don't forget, it's a crucial day."

Huh?

Crucial?

Lin Chen's eyebrows quirked up in curiosity.

"Why do you say that?"
