C7 A Beautiful Neighbor Visiting!

The Water and Clouds boasted an exceptional location. Initially, Jiang Lili had her eye on it, but was told by the property management that it wasn't available for sale to the public. Consequently, she settled for the building across from it.

Was the Water and Clouds specifically reserved for someone?

Jiang Lili's lips curled into a slight smile.

Her neighbor seemed intriguing; a visit was in order.

As neighbors, their paths were bound to cross.

She finished her wine in one swift gulp, set the glass down on the table without a second thought, and headed into her room.

...

Spanning nearly seven hundred square meters, the third floor alone was impressive.

Lin Chen surveyed his new villa with utmost satisfaction.

A private courtyard, a swimming pool, a gym—every conceivable luxury was at his fingertips.

Indeed, the lifestyle of the wealthy was unparalleled.

The living room featured an expansive floor-to-ceiling window that framed the broad river view—a feast for the eyes.

The furniture, all top-of-the-line, was factored into the home's price tag.

It made sense, then, why mansions commanded such steep prices.

Reclining on the plush leather sofa, Lin Chen felt a wave of contentment wash over him.

In a word?

Exhilarating!

In two words?

Utterly comfortable!

Just then, the doorbell chimed, pulling him from his reverie.

Lin Chen's brow furrowed.

Could it be someone from the property management?

He rose to answer the door.

As it swung open, he was greeted by an enchanting silhouette.

She wore a black one-shoulder mini dress, her lips a bold red. Her eyeliner accentuated her bewitching peach blossom eyes, a sight to behold.

Her chestnut brown waves tumbled casually over her shoulders, a stark contrast to the pristine whiteness...

Hmm!

Jiang Lili was taken aback.

She hadn't expected the new neighbor...

To be so young.

He looked barely twenty, if that—a university student, perhaps?

Though the Water and Clouds weren't publicly listed, securing this villa must have come at a considerable cost.

Could this man be a scion of a noble family?

Snapping out of her reverie, Jiang Lili flashed a flirtatious smile:

"Hello there, neighbor. I'm Jiang Lili, I live right across from you."

She gestured towards her villa as she introduced herself.

"I'm Lin Chen."

Lin Chen quickly averted his eyes and offered a polite greeting.

"I was pressed for time and didn't manage to prepare much—just a small token, really."

Jiang Lili presented the gift box she was holding with both hands.

Lin Chen felt a twinge of surprise.

Inside were two bottles of red wine that looked quite pricey.

"How can I possibly accept this?"

But Jiang Lili, ever so bold, pushed the wine into Lin Chen's hands.

"Don't be shy—it's just a little something to show my appreciation."

With no graceful way to decline, Lin Chen accepted the gift.

"Would you like to come in and sit for a while?"

Lin Chen inquired.

Jiang Lili's eyebrows arched playfully:

"Well then... I shall graciously accept your invitation."

With a slight turn, Lin Chen gestured for her to enter.

Jiang Lili walked in without any pretense, her every move exuding allure.

Lin Chen found himself thinking of the phrase "innate charm."

Once inside, Jiang Lili looked around and remarked:

"The layout here at Water and Clouds is impressive. It's no wonder I had my eye on this place, but... it wasn't meant to be mine."

"I'm amazed that someone as young as Mr. Lin could acquire such a fine property. You're quite accomplished for your age."

Lin Chen offered a modest smile and set the wine on the table:

"You're too kind, Miss Jiang. Please, have a seat."

Jiang Lili's gaze lingered on Lin Chen:

"From what I can tell, Mr. Lin... you must be in your early twenties, right?"

She settled onto the sofa, crossing her legs gracefully.

Lin Chen took a seat across from her.

"You're spot on, Miss Jiang. I'm twenty."

Jiang Lili's smile deepened:

"I guessed right, you really are a younger brother!"

"Miss Jiang, no need for formalities—we're neighbors, after all!"

"I'm older than you, so calling me 'Sister Li' wouldn't be a loss for you. What do you say?"
