C3 Unreasonable Man

Yifan floored the gas pedal, racing home without a care for the red lights she ran. Once there, she ignored her injuries and grabbed a few bottles of wine from the cabinet, sinking to the floor. Her heart ached unbearably, and she felt that only getting drunk could numb the pain.

She lost track of how much she drank and soon slipped into unconsciousness. When she came to, she found herself in the hospital with Anan sitting worriedly by her side.

Yifan touched her forehead, feeling a sharp sting. Seeing her awake, Anan suddenly hugged her tightly. "Yifan, you idiot!" Her voice was tinged with tears.

Yifan felt a warmth in her heart; Anan was her only friend. "I'm okay," she reassured, patting Anan's back.

"Why didn't you tell me what was going on? Why drink alone at home? You almost died!" Anan sat up straight, ready to lecture her.

Yifan rubbed her forehead, feeling uncomfortable. "What happened to me?"

"You drank too much and caused a stomach bleed. And that bruise on your face—your dad did that, right?" Anan knew about her family issues.

"Yeah, I was just in a bad mood and thought a little wine might help. I didn't mean to overdo it," Yifan said, forcing a smile.

Yifan wiped the corner of her eye. "If you want to drink, you can call me to join you. If something happens while you're alone, no one would know."

Yifan felt that the luckiest thing in her life was having such a good friend.

The two of them spent the afternoon at the hospital. Once they were sure Yifan was okay, they left, and Anan insisted on accompanying her home to make sure she was safe.

A few days later, Yifan received an invitation to a business gala. Anan encouraged her to go, hoping it would lift her spirits. Not wanting to worry Anan, Yifan agreed.

The gala was held on a cruise ship, hosted by one of the wealthiest businessmen in the city, sparing no expense. Many prominent figures from the area were invited. Yifan had been doing well in her career, which earned her an invitation. The more important the guest, the more they tended to arrive fashionably late, and the host hadn't arrived yet. Wearing a silver mermaid gown, Yifan held a glass of champagne and wandered to the edge of the deck, watching the guests stroll by. From there, she had a clear view of the entrance and was sizing up potential business partners. She was determined to become stronger and avenge her mother.

Just as she was starting to feel a bit bored, she noticed a young man in a tailored Italian suit and brown leather shoes, exuding a gentlemanly charm. Several attractive women were gathered around him, each trying to catch his attention.

Gu Yifan's eyes lit up. She knew exactly who this person was. She had thoroughly researched the executives of MZ Corporation. This was the company's new director, a rising star with a promising future.

If she could get close to him and secure a partnership with MZ Corporation, her radio station would undoubtedly reach new heights. With this in mind, Yifan smiled, grabbed another glass of champagne from a server, and casually walked over.

"Mr. Chen!" she greeted, raising her glass with a smile.

Mr. Chen turned away from his conversation with a woman beside him, a hint of admiration in his eyes. He smiled politely, "Miss, I'm sorry, but may I ask who you are?"

The woman next to him gave Yifan a displeased look, possessively holding onto Mr. Chen's arm. "Mr. Chen, who is this?"

Mr. Chen also looked at Yifan, waiting for her response. Instead, Yifan simply smiled knowingly, said nothing, and walked away.

Men like him were never short of female attention. Being too forward might not pique his interest. To have a meaningful conversation with him, she needed to make sure he noticed her, even if it meant playing a little hard to get.

Yifan wasn't in a hurry. She found a spot at the bar and slowly sipped her drink. As she anticipated, it wasn't even half an hour before Mr. Chen couldn't resist approaching her. He sat beside her, ordered a glass of the same champagne, and smiled charmingly. "May I know the name of this beautiful lady?"

Gu Yifan glanced up at him, and that single look nearly captivated him completely. He was even more determined to win over this beautiful woman.

She reached out and placed a business card on the table, sliding it over. As he picked it up, his fingers brushed against her slender ones. She didn’t pull away, and his smile grew wider.

“So, you’re Miss Gu! I’ve heard so much about you!” Yifan was quite well-known in the startup scene, famous for her sharp wit and striking looks.

Yifan nodded with a seemingly modest gesture, raising her glass with a smile. “And you must be Mr. Chen. I didn’t expect to run into you here today. What a coincidence!”

Mr. Chen chuckled, “Maybe it’s fate...”

They chatted, each with their own intentions, appearing to be a perfect match, and the atmosphere was harmonious.

As Yifan smiled and sipped her drink, she suddenly felt someone watching her. She turned to look but found no one, so she turned back around.

Hsu Moyan had just entered the venue and immediately noticed the woman laughing by the bar. He couldn’t help but recall the last time he saw her at the Gu family’s place, his eyes darkening slightly.

Yifan was enjoying her conversation with Mr. Chen and was about to exchange contact information when she felt a shadow looming over her. Instinctively, she turned and saw the tall man standing behind her.

She exclaimed, "What are you doing here?"

Hsu Moyan grabbed her, his gaze dark and intimidating, and started to pull her away. Just as Chen was about to protest, a single look from Moyan silenced him.

Yifan had no idea what had upset him so much, but she found herself awkwardly following him in her high heels, struggling to keep up. "Hsu Moyan, what are you doing?" she hissed under the curious stares of onlookers.

Moyan remained silent as he led her into the cabin, pushing open a door to a lounge and tossing her onto the bed. "Couldn't wait to find another man as soon as you left me, huh?" he accused, leaning over her and gripping her chin, his touch anything but gentle.

Yifan looked at him in disbelief and let out a cold laugh. He was angry over something like this? What an unreasonable man. "We were just casual, and it's over now. Why shouldn't I see other people?"

Moyan stared at her for a few seconds before suddenly kissing her, his actions rough. Yifan struggled fiercely, and within moments, she tasted blood in her mouth, unsure if it was his or hers.

His tongue intertwined with hers, like lovers bound together, inseparable. Taking advantage of a moment to breathe, she pushed him away forcefully. "Hsu Moyan, are you out of your mind?"

Hsu Moyan sneered, "It's not over until I say it is. This game, I make the rules."

Gu Yifan thought this man was quite something. Why should he get to decide when they marry or when things end? She didn't want to play his game anymore. "Oh, aren't you afraid my sister will find out?"

"Would you dare let her know?" Hsu Moyan's eyes seemed to harbor a demon as he leaned in, mocking her softly, then grabbed her neck, breathing heavily as he began to undress her.

Gu Yifan didn't want him to succeed and clung to her clothes, but his strength overpowered her, and her clothes were torn away. "Hsu Moyan, I don't want to do this today!" She kicked at him, but he pinned her legs down, her body writhing like a fish trying to escape his hold.

After struggling for over ten minutes, he had stripped her of all her clothes, both of them breathless. Gu Yifan felt a wave of despair as Hsu Moyan leaned down to kiss her neck.

The room started to heat up, and the two, already familiar with each other's bodies, quickly fell into a passionate embrace. Gu Yifan found herself overwhelmed by the intensity of it all. Hsu Moyan moved with a fervor, as if trying to confirm something, and they communicated in silence, the air filled only with heavy breathing and intimate sounds.

When it was all over, three hours had passed. Gu Yifan, ignoring the discomfort in her body, got out of bed. Her clothes were in tatters, and Hsu Moyan lay on the bed, watching her with an unreadable expression as she walked into the bathroom. He couldn't quite understand why he had been so impulsive, pulling her away in front of so many people. Frustrated, he rubbed his forehead.

Gu Yifan picked up her phone from the floor, noticing several missed calls from Anan. She hadn't returned home so late, and Anan must be worried.

"I need to go home," she said, looking at Hsu Moyan. Her clothes were beyond repair, so she had no choice but to rely on him for a solution.

Hsu Moyan glanced at her and got up. "I'll take you home."

After they got ready, Hsu Moyan wrapped Gu Yifan in his suit jacket over her bathrobe and carried her to his car.

"Seatbelt," he reminded her as the car started. Staring ahead, he suddenly spoke, "Gu Yifan, be my mistress."

Gu Yifan didn't want to look at him anymore. "Oh, do you really think that's possible?"

"What if I traded it for your company?" Hsu Moyan suddenly suggested.

Yifan's eyes narrowed as she looked at him. "What do you mean by that?"

"Miss Gu, you're smart enough to figure it out. If I wanted to, I could change the legal representative of your company within a month." Moyan was actually threatening her.

Yifan couldn't believe he had such power. "You're threatening me with my own company, Hsu Moyan? Who do you think you are? You can't just do whatever you want. I'm telling you, you're dreaming!" How despicable.

Moyan just chuckled and said nothing more. Whether it was a dream or not, they'd find out soon enough. He had never failed to get what he wanted.

He drove her back home and then left without another word.
