C106 Foredeck

I don't know if it was because the atmosphere was too good tonight, because we considered each other as close friends, or because people who had been strong for so long needed to find someone to talk to, but in this watery moonlight, Mason and I shared our story.

I didn't know who my family were, I didn't even know who I was. I was born in a small city, and I was abandoned by my own parents not long after I was born. Didn't you always think that my name was very nice? Mason turned to look at me.

I shook my head, confused. I thought I had just been born and didn't know where my real father was, and that my real mother had died a miserable death, but at least I knew that my mother had brought me into this world with her love and hope. But she didn't even know who her parents were.

She lifted her hand and tucked her long hair behind her ear. Her movements were elegant and moving. I think the family would be very regretful if they knew that the little girl they had abandoned had grown to such an outstanding state.

"Our small town has always been developed by mining coal. It can also be considered an eye-opener, giving the locals a way to get rich. I was found on the mountain and sent to an orphanage, so I named it the Coal Mountain. I didn't expect it, did I, Mason?" She was clearly smiling as she said this, but the loneliness in her eyes couldn't be hidden.

Then I grew up in an orphanage. The people in the orphanage found me to be obedient, intelligent, and pretty, and treated me well, but I don't know why, maybe it's because our place has more boys and girls, and no one was willing to adopt me until I was in my teens. The dean never married, so he treated me like his own daughter, and I'll be grateful to her for the rest of my life.

I listened to the pain in my heart. I understood the feeling of Mason's childhood, and although I still had my grandfather and uncle by my side, I still felt the helplessness of being abandoned by the world. I often woke up crying in my dreams at midnight.

I didn't say anything, just silently took Mason's hand and squeezed it, because all the time I was holding a brush, there were little calluses on her fingers.

"I lived in an orphanage just like that. In order for me to live a normal life like a child with parents, they sent me to study and even gave me all the good stuff I could get." Mesa's eyes were moist as he recalled this scene.

"So, where is the dean now? Is she still working in the orphanage?" I couldn't help but ask, because I really couldn't understand why, given Mason's personality, she would not visit the person who was so important to her and would instead stay in B City.

"The dean had already died of breast cancer when I graduated from university. She could be said to be my only relative in the world. When I was in high school, I was about fifteen years old, because I was dressed badly, and I didn't have time to play with my classmates with money, because I had to take care of my brother and sister in the orphanage. "

"It's alright, what you lost in the past can be recovered now." I comforted Mason, but that was more like comforting myself.

Because of this, all the students in my class bullied me, only one person. His family's condition seems to be pretty good, a good home tutor would make him never treat me like those people, and even give me questions that I don't know how to do. Gradually, there wouldn't be anyone who would bully me in the school. I had a hunch that this was the person that Mason had been waiting for.

"One day when we were walking out of school together, he suddenly told me that he liked me, and then he ran off to his car in front of the school and left me standing there in a daze. Isn't it cute? " Even after such a long time had passed, it was still sweet of Mason to talk about this.

The next day, he never came to school again. At the beginning, he thought that his family had matters to attend to and wanted to ask for leave, but as time went on, the teacher told us that he was very seriously ill and that his whole family had moved to B City to develop and treat him. Mason looked into the distance as if she was waiting for the man.

I couldn't help but ask, "Then, do you have no other news about him?"

After that, he seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth. There was no more news about him, only that he was writing in my textbook. It should be rather funny, I'm almost thirty years old, but I can't help but think about the childhood sweethearts I had when I was a teenager.

"No, I think this kind of love is very beautiful and pure, and I'm especially envious of it."

"It's not that love is hard to remember. After all, no one in their teens would dare say that the person they meet here is someone they can live with. But that person could be considered one of the few lights in my life." It's not that love is hard to remember, it's just that no one in their teens would dare say that the person they meet here is someone they can live with. Mason's wish was simple.

I asked tentatively, "Do you know what kind of illness he had?"

"I don't know. I just remember the teachers saying that it was very serious, and they even said it was a pity for him. Such an outstanding child." Maysan's eyes were filled with melancholy, because although neither of us spoke clearly, we knew very well that this person might not be in the world anymore.

I smiled and put my arm around her shoulders. "If fate wills it, we will meet again. You've already suffered so much. Luck is about to arrive, hold on."

Mason looked up, moonlight shining in her eyes. "I feel lucky to be your good friend."

Without realizing it, it was already the middle of the night, and even the moon, which had been hanging overhead, had slipped away into the clouds. Mason and I returned to our room tiredly, and before long she was in a deep sleep.

Listening to the gradually calming breathing of the people around me, I couldn't fall asleep at all. My mind was filled with the words that Mason had just told me, filled with worry. Such a good girl had suffered so much before, I really wanted to do something for her.

Thinking about how Ou Jia Rui wasn't someone who was used to sleeping early, and since today was an important day, the Ou Family probably had a lot of activities. They tentatively sent a message to Ou Jia Rui:

"Are you asleep?"

"I was just about to sleep, what's the matter?"

I told him everything I had heard about Mason. I told him not to talk about it until I told him my intention.

"Although I don't know much information about him, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack after so many years, but I still want to ask if I can try and find him for her."

After about five minutes, he finally replied, "I just called Xuan Zi to tell her about this situation. He'll do his best to help get the information out, but before we make any substantial progress, it's best if you don't tell Mason Shan about it. After all, B City is so big, it's hard to find someone."

"Okay, thank you." My dejected mood immediately became excited. Recalling how we had been together these past few days, I immediately felt that I was so much luckier than Mason. Ou Jia Rui almost promised me what she wanted. This was both my luck and my pressure.

After doing all this, I went to sleep contentedly.

After this somewhat sad and gentle night, Maysan and I continued our intensive internship. In the blink of an eye, we had been working in the Euclidean design department for a week. Mason says she likes the atmosphere here and thinks this is where designers can use their talents.

Similarly, both her outstanding talent and her gentle and cheerful personality have won the favor and appreciation of most people in her department. Perhaps the design department was the department with the most harmonious relationship in the Euclidean office. Here, everyone relied on their strength to speak, unlike the other departments whose connections and methods were all based on strength.

Early in the morning, the chief designer, Sister Zhuo, walked into my and Mason Shan's office. "Xin Yao, Mason Shan, CEO Ou said that you guys can go through some tasks now. We've basically designed the jewelry for this season, we just need a matching earring. Would you two be willing to design it?"

"Of course not." Mason and I said almost in unison.

Sister Zhuo placed a set of diagrams on my desk. "Here are the other designs in this series. Can you finish one in three days?" Three days was enough time to design such a small gem.

My work with Mason has since become an endless series of drafts, revisions, and models, but each time seems to be unsatisfactory. The rest of the series was designed by the best designers in Europe, and every detail was refined, so we didn't dare to follow suit.

For the rest of the day, we kept ourselves locked in the workshop. Although we worked hard, we were still inefficient, and while Mason was my teacher, there was still a big difference in our styles. Even though she had always been encouraging me, I was well aware that my level compared to hers was basically the same level as her level of entry.

"Alright, baby, you finish this design yourself. You can find me whenever you need to give me some advice. I've decided to take a break these past two days and design my work in the school's design competition in this workshop. Then I'll show your design to Ou Jia Rui and have him arrange a position for you in the design department." For a friend like Mason, I never need to beat around the bush.

Perhaps it was because she didn't want to stay in my apartment and disturb me, but she wanted to get back to the quality of her life as soon as possible. Although I had always emphasized that her arrival was a good thing for me, I didn't think that anyone would be able to accept the help of others.

So Mason readily agreed to my proposal.
