C33 A Wedding in a Dream
I nodded blankly, but my face was flushed all the way down to my ears.
As I was being led down the stairs by the big, well-defined hands of Ochira Rui, my heart was suddenly in turmoil. The group of photographers waiting downstairs took out their phones and took silent pictures of us, as if we were their most prized work.
"It's so beautiful." The makeup artist sighed.
"Thank you." I smiled at her.
The Rolls Royce outside the door had stopped for a long time. I was surprised that it wasn't the Audi that I was familiar with. I turned around and asked Ou Jia Rui, "Yours?"
"Please, your husband is a CEO after all. Isn't it a little too frugal to drive a practical car like that? Usually, it's to keep a low profile, but now it's a wedding, so of course I'll give you the best."
When I heard that Audi, which many people would never be able to exchange their entire lifetime's wages, was actually called "a practical car" by Ou Jia Rui, I couldn't help but silently curse in my heart. The capitalists were completely inhumane.
At some point, Xuan Zi had changed into a decent suit and become the driver of our wedding car.
The distance between City A and the seaside city was no more than an hour. The car was on the highway, and it was only nine o'clock in the morning.
Ou Jia Rui took out a bag of oatmeal from the car's refrigerator and said, "There's no other way, this is the only thing we can do. You need to rest your stomach first, we just ate a little at breakfast."
Because I was afraid of wearing makeup, I could only eat my cereal in small bites and exclaim at the care of O'Jia Rui in my heart.
The car soon arrived at the seaside church.
The guests who were waiting for a long time all thought that we were here to attend Ou Jingyi's wedding. When they saw Ou Jia Rui and I, who were escorting us out of the Rolls Royce, they couldn't help but start discussing in a low voice.
The good mood from before vanished in an instant, and I became uneasy again.
Ou Jia Rui patted the back of my hand in consolation and stretched out her arm. I carefully held onto it, afraid that I would wrinkle his good-looking suit.
After reaching the end of the red carpet, Ou Jia Rui picked up the microphone that was originally intended to be used as an oath, and led me forward.
"Good morning, everyone. Thank you very much for taking the time to attend my wife, Zhou Xinyao, and me. Your blessings are the best gift to me."
At this moment, it didn't matter who was the original main character of the wedding anymore. These people came with the biggest purpose of increasing their relationship with a business tycoon like Ou Jia Rui. Everything else was meaningless to them.
With my sharp eyes, I noticed that the perfume lilies and flower racks that I had meticulously arranged had long since disappeared and were replaced by my favorite roses. It was just that due to the lack of time, they were just randomly arranged and not very methodical.
When the applause died down, I thought the wedding was about to begin, but there was an unconcealable sense of loss in my heart.
After all, this was a venue that I had meticulously arranged for others. Everything here, one flower, one grass, one table, originally it was all for Ou Jingyi and Lin Qian. Even if this was my wedding, but I didn't want any of it.
"This venue is our resting place. Now, I would like to invite everyone to follow Yao Yao to our wedding's home ground." After saying that, she pulled me to the front of the crowd.
I don't know when it started, but there was already a long line of over a hundred luxury cars lined up outside the door. Ou Jia Rui and I walked in the lead car, and the guests also sat in the back of the luxury cars in groups of twos and threes.
As we drove to the beach, I felt both nervous and excited. I saw a cruise ship parked at the edge of the beach in the distance, and I happily turned my head to look at O'Jia Rui.
He looked back at me.
After we got out of the car, a carpet of petals extended all the way to the cruise ship, and O'Jia Rui led me step by step to the main venue of our wedding, as well as to our future.
When all the guests had entered the cruise ship and found a suitable place to sit, the cruise ship slowly started moving towards the calmer sea area.
After a few minutes, we were surrounded by blue seawater. The sky was so clear that it was hard to sing. I was extremely excited, but the surprise that O'Jia Rui gave me was far more than this.
The host of the wedding had been waiting for a long time. I looked over and realized that the person was actually one of the most outstanding program hosts in A City. He never accepted any business activities.
Just as I was looking around, O'Jia Rui pointed to a champagne coloured house on the deck.
This glance is enough to destroy all of my uneasiness and nervousness.
On the huge deck, there was a boudoir entirely made of champagne roses, with tiny flowers of other colors interspersed among them occasionally, like the worlds of fairy tales. I walked hand in hand with O'Jia Rui to the greenhouse.
The fragrant scent of roses wafted into my nostrils, and I felt a sense of comfort enveloping my limbs and bones.
The emcee announced the official start of the wedding, and the audience erupted in cheers and applause. Some of them sincerely wished them well, while others flattered them. However, at least this wedding was a very enjoyable affair.
The wedding ceremony had been going on in an orderly manner.
It wasn't until the priest stepped onto the deck and stood in front of us that my palms began to sweat.
The priest then asked in a casual tone, "Mr. Ou Jia Rui, are you willing to be Lady Zhou's husband from today onwards? Be it poverty or wealth, health or illness, all of you will respect each other and cherish each other …"
When Ou Jia Rui solemnly and confidently said the two words "I am willing", my heart started to tremble. The young girls on the guest seats were a little sad, but of course, I didn't have the time to care about these things at that time.
When it finally came to me, the priest said the same thing, and asked if I wanted to.
My thoughts were pulled far away from me. If time had flowed back, I would have been looking forward to marrying Lin Qian a year ago. I would have said those three words without hesitation, "I am willing," and used all my strength to love and take care of him.
After a year, I really did stand at the scene of the wedding, but the people by my side had already changed. Although Ou Jia Rui left Lin Qian far behind in all aspects, even her care and love for me far surpassed his. But looking back, it was hard not to lament.
Because I was distracted at the wrong time, the answer stopped for a few seconds. Ojairi didn't urge me, didn't remind me, just quietly looked at me.
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, I finally opened my mouth:
"I do."
I felt very cute when I saw the relieved look on Ojaru's face.
After the ceremony ended, it was time for the guests to eat.
The guest gift was a handmade chocolate from Italy and a handkerchief brand owned by Euclidean family. They thought that time was too short and they didn't have enough time to prepare these details, but they didn't expect that every detail they had to pay attention to during the wedding ceremony would be taken into account by Ou Jia Rui.
"Hey, how did you manage to prepare so well in such a short time?" While we were toasting, I asked Ojaru.
"What do you mean short term? I've already planned for a long, long time, okay? Everything has been arranged, so I only need a nod from you." Ou Jia Rui was a little proud.
The champagne was in Ocari's forehead glass and came back from the tables. Even if the best drinkers were a little tired, my glass was filled with a crystal grape juice the color of champagne that I had prepared in advance.
Since it was Ocari's wife, I was relieved when no one came to pour my wine, and no one questioned what was in my glass.
By the time the wedding ended, it was already afternoon. O'Jia Rui had more than enough time to find a room on the cruise ship to rest. The pregnant woman's strength was not good to begin with, and after a day of hard work, I was also feeling drowsy.
There was only one bed in the room. Just as I wanted to go out and find another room, Ou Jia Rui pulled me back. "Don't be afraid, I won't do anything to you. Sleep."
In a daze, the two of us fell asleep together in the big bed.
When he woke up again, the sky was already completely dark. The guests on the cruise ship had already left, and it was unknown when the pilot had driven the cruise ship to the middle of the sea.
When I opened the door, Sea Breeze looked completely at ease. However, I was pulled in by Ou Jia Rui and handed over a set of everyday clothes. "Sea Breeze is cold. Change into a new set of clothes and then go out." After which, he walked out.
When I got dressed, O'Jia Rui was sitting on the deck, patting the seat cushion next to her to signal me to come over.
We sat side by side on the sea, watching the stars twinkle in the sky, a scene that was hard to find in a bustling city.
The lights of the city were too bright to see the stars clearly. Even more difficult is the number of people who meet the person who looks at the stars with you.
We sat on the deck and chatted and watched the stars, or sometimes sat together in silence and listened to the sea breeze, and told stories about our growing up and our hobbies.
Today, as if it was a new beginning between the two of us, I realized that the person beside me had once endured so many difficult days. He had to grit his teeth in order to become the backbone of the family.
"Zhou Xinyao." Ojira suddenly added my name.
"Hmm?"
"Remember to pack your things when you get back tomorrow. We'll be flying tomorrow afternoon." This was what Ou Jia Rui said.
"Aircraft? Where are we going?" I asked casually.
"Honey Moon Travel. First, let me take you to my favorite place. Afterwards, we can go wherever you want to go."
"Alright." I grinned at him.
