C6 And Then We Get Married?

An hour later, Su Kexin emerged from the Civil Affairs Bureau, marriage certificate in hand, feeling as light as air, as if she were in a dream.

The thought of marrying a man so suddenly, especially one she'd met by mere chance, had never crossed her mind.

The surreal speed of events left Su Kexin in disbelief, barely registering that throughout the entire process, the man at her side hadn't once inquired why she'd brought her household registration book.

Glancing down at the marriage certificate, she saw their photo: the man's expression was one of cool detachment, while hers was a mix of restraint and unease. Below the picture were their names.

It was absurd to her that she only learned her husband's name from the marriage certificate.

Gu Chi.

His name was simple yet dignified, befitting the man's aura.

But beyond his name and phone number, Su Kexin realized she knew nothing else about her new husband.

A sudden wave of panic hit her. What if this seemingly decent man turned out to be a wolf in sheep's clothing?

As regret began to seep in, a hand with distinct knuckles appeared before her, offering a card.

"Miss Su, I understand that girls look forward to weddings and rings, but unfortunately, I haven't had the time to arrange these. If you'd like a ring, please choose one for yourself," Gu Chi's cool voice broke the silence.

Su Kexin turned to find him gazing at her, his deep, obsidian eyes seemingly unfathomable.

"There's no need," she quickly responded, a bit flustered, waving her hand dismissively. "I'm not concerned with those things."

She was beyond the age of chasing fairy-tale romance. Besides, she didn't want to feel indebted to the man who was, in name only, her husband.

But he didn't leave room for refusal.

"A ring is still necessary," Gu Chi stated flatly, catching Su Kexin's wrist in a swift motion and pressing the card into her hand.

The warmth of his touch sent a jolt through her, leaving her momentarily dazed.

"Fine," she conceded. They were, after all, "newlyweds," and Su Kexin didn't want to spurn his kindness over something so trivial, so she accepted the card.

"I have another commitment this afternoon, so I won't be able to walk you out," Gu Chi said, his tone as detached as ever. Despite the shift in his relationship with Su Kexin, his demeanor seemed unchanged.

"Okay." Su Kexin hadn't really expected him to dote on her as a husband would, so there was no sense of loss within her.

"Oh, regarding my home address," Gu Chi suddenly remembered, speaking up again, "I'll send it to you later. You can move in whenever it's convenient for you."

Su Kexin's anxiety flared up. "There's no hurry," she replied quickly.

She was well aware that married couples typically cohabitate, but the thought of living with a man who was still a stranger to her was daunting.

Perhaps Su Kexin's reluctance was too apparent, prompting Gu Chi to glance up at her, an action that only added to her discomfort.

But Gu Chi didn't dwell on the matter. He simply pressed a button on his wheelchair, pivoting in a new direction. "If there's nothing else, I'll be on my way."

Su Kexin nodded, holding back her concern about whether he would manage on his own. She deemed it impolite to voice such a question and remained silent.

As she watched him roll away, Su Kexin readied herself to catch the bus. However, just as she turned to leave, a thought struck her.

"Ah, Gu Chi, wait a second!"

She called out in a rush, fumbling in her bag and quickly pulling something out as she hurried after Gu Chi.
