C18 Getting His Property

Wen Chichi's eyes flashed with anger. She could tolerate the accusations and insults from Wang Hongyan and Wen Jiaojiao, but she absolutely couldn't stand them disrespecting her mother.

With a cold voice, Wen Chichi retorted, "Wang Hongyan, I think I should return those words to you. You climbed the social ladder by being a homewrecker, and now you want to play the virtuous woman?"

It was audacious for a woman who broke up a family to disparage the original wife. People really would do anything for money.

Wen Chichi knew there was no point in arguing with them any longer. Her only goal was to reclaim her mother's inheritance. Once she had it, there was no reason for her to stay.

As she led Wen Zhouzhou upstairs, she suddenly turned back with a mocking tone. "I forgot to mention, if he could leave my mother for you, he won't hesitate to do the same when someone better comes along. Think about how many carefree days you really have left."

Wen Chichi was certain that women like her would eventually be discarded by men. It was inevitable.

Back in her room, Wen Chichi grew angrier the more she thought about it. She couldn't understand where these people got their nerve.

Beside her, Wen Zhouzhou patiently comforted her, reminding her that they would soon have the inheritance and shouldn't let these people trouble them.

"Mama, we have to secure Grandma's inheritance. These people are just too awful; they clearly want to keep it all for themselves."

Upon hearing this, Wen Chichi scoffed dismissively, thinking that this mother and daughter duo didn't have the capability to pull it off.

Legally and logically, this money wasn't part of the marital assets. Even in the event of a divorce, premarital assets couldn't be taken away and could only be inherited by the children.

Meanwhile, Wen Jiaojiao was crying her eyes out, feeling that Wen Chichi was being too harsh.

"Mom, that awful Wen Chichi actually dared to hit me. How can we let her get away with this?"

The slap had been quite forceful. Wen Jiaojiao's right cheek was red and swollen, and she looked completely disheveled, her freshly styled hair now a mess.

Wang Hongyan was filled with sympathy. "Don't worry, sweetheart. I won't let Wen Chichi's plan succeed."

A flash of determination crossed Wang Hongyan's eyes. Whether it was the family estate or the marriage arrangement, Wen Chichi had no choice but to follow orders. If she dared to compete with them, she'd find herself in a dead end.

"Jiaojiao, rest assured, Mama will make sure you get justice."

Wen Chichi trying to put on airs in front of Wang Hongyan was just asking for trouble.

Early the next morning, Wen Chichi gathered a group of people to sit around the living room.

"Wen Chichi, why are you getting us up so early in the morning?"

Wen Zhengze had just gotten out of his cozy bed, and being disturbed by Wen Chichi didn't exactly put him in a good mood.

Wen Chichi paid no mind to their grumbling, ready to teach them another lesson.

"Didn't you say that as long as the Fu family was satisfied with me, you'd return my mom's inheritance?"

Now that she's met their demands, if they plan to backtrack, it won't be that easy.

Hearing this, the three of them turned pale. This was just an excuse to coax Wen Chichi into marrying Fu Yuxi. They never thought she'd actually believe it.

Ignoring their shocked expressions, Wen Chichi continued, "You promised me 30% of the shares and the remaining inheritance, not a penny less."

Wang Hongyan had already calculated that this inheritance was worth more than the dowry from the Fu family. Giving away 30% of the shares would mean they'd have to answer to Wen Chichi in the future. She would no longer be the pushover they once thought.

Wang Hongyan, who had been plotting for years with her daughter to take over the Wen family, wasn't about to let Wen Chichi disrupt their plans.

With a troubled look, Wang Hongyan said, "Chichi, we're all family here. Why speak as if we're not? The inheritance is for you and your sister to share, and the company will be yours to manage in the future. Why split hairs over it?"

Wang Hongyan's face was full of affection, but deep down, she wished she could punish Wen Chichi a thousand times over. That little brat was just like her late mother, always nitpicking to the extreme.
