C5 Good Plan!

Wen Zhengze looked at her with a face full of disdain and indifference. "The past is behind us. Qin and Jiaojiao are about to get married, and you're not getting any younger. We brought you back this time to attend Jiaojiao's wedding and to arrange a good marriage for you."

Wen Chichi's expression remained unchanged as she lowered her gaze, unsurprised in the slightest. As expected, the Wen family had ulterior motives for bringing her back.

She listened quietly as Wen Zhengze continued, "Your reputation isn't great, and having a child out of wedlock doesn't help. There aren't many willing to marry you, and I'm concerned for you."

He shifted his tone, "It just so happens that the Fu family's patriarch approached me recently, wanting to arrange a marriage with Second Master Fu. You know him, right? His looks have charmed countless people, and the Fu family is the most powerful in South City. They don't even mind that you have a child, which makes this a great match!"

Wen Chichi couldn't help but laugh. No wonder Lin Ruoer saw the Fu family at the airport. Second Master Fu, Fu Yuxi, is indeed the pride of South City, and the Fu family's influence is immense. But Fu Yuxi is ruthless and gravely ill, unlikely to survive the winter! Many women have met their end in the Fu family. Fu Yuxi is nothing short of a grim reaper. Anyone with sense wouldn't want to marry their daughter into that family!

Wen Zhengze wasn't trying to marry her off; he was sending her to her doom!

"What a great marriage proposal. His last fiancée was that illegitimate daughter from the Soong family, right? She died three days after the engagement. Marrying him sounds like a gamble—let's see who kicks the bucket first, him or me?" Wen Chichi added nonchalantly.

Wen Zhengze hadn't expected her to know so much. Frowning with displeasure, he said, "That girl died of an illness. All those rumors are just that—rumors. Given his status, you should be grateful he doesn't mind your background."

Grateful? Was she supposed to be thankful for being sent to her death?

Wen Chichi let out a derisive laugh, lazily lifting her eyelids. "Seems like the dowry from the Fu family was generous enough. Even knowing I don't want this, you're still trying to make it happen."

Wen Zhengze's expression turned noticeably sour.

He hadn't anticipated Wen Chichi being so clever, knowing so much, or being so direct!

If Wen Chichi truly refused to marry, the three hundred million dollar dowry from the Fu family would be lost!

"Chichi, I'm doing this for your own good..."

Wen Chichi was tired of his pretentious words. The way he had treated her over the years was still fresh in her mind. She looked up at him, "It's not impossible for me to agree to the marriage..."

Wen Zhengze's face lit up with joy, clearly pleased with her willingness to comply.

The next moment, his smile froze as he listened to what Chichi had to say.

"I want to reclaim the inheritance my mother left me, including the shares in the family business," Chichi said, meeting his gaze calmly.

"In your dreams!" Zhengze retorted, his face turning a shade of anger as he glared at her.

After Chichi's mother passed away, she left behind a substantial inheritance, including several estates and 30% of the family business shares. Altogether, it was worth well over $300 million!

Chichi found it amusing. This inheritance was rightfully hers, left by her mother, and even if it went through legal proceedings, it would eventually belong to her. She was simply asking for what was hers, so how could that be dreaming?

With a composed expression, Chichi chuckled lightly and said, "The benefits of marrying into the Fu family are worth much more than those $300 million. Have you thought it through?"

Money was the least of it. The most significant advantage of marrying into the Fu family was the connection it provided. As the most powerful family in South City, the Fu family's influence and network were beyond imagination.

This was why Zhengze was determined to marry Chichi into the Fu family, no matter what...

Zhengze's face was clouded, a flicker of hesitation and calculation in his eyes.

After what seemed like an eternity, he finally responded with a cold expression, "Fine, I agree. But during this time, you must cooperate with us obediently until the marriage is finalized."

No matter what, even if she marries into that family, she might not survive!

If she does survive, he can connect with the Fu family's network and truly become part of high society. If she doesn't, those shares and assets will still be his!

Wen Zhengze gave Wen Chichi a few more instructions before allowing her to go upstairs to rest.

However, as Wen Chichi stepped out of the living room, she bumped into Qin Su and Wen Jiaojiao.

Wen Jiaojiao, holding onto Qin Su's arm, flashed a sweet smile and congratulated her, "Congratulations to you and Second Master Fu."

Seeing her smug expression, Wen Chichi couldn't help but curl her lips slightly before turning back to her room.

If Wen Jiaojiao knew that because of this marriage, she now held 30% of the Wen company's shares, she would probably have a different look on her face.
